¹Kanaug, ug lingkod sa abug, Oh ulay nga anak sa Babilonia; lingkod sa yuta nga walay trono, Oh anak nga babaye sa mga Caldeahanon: kay ikaw dili na pagatawgon nga malomo ug maambong.

¹Come down and sit in the dust, virgin-daughter of Babylon! Sit on the ground, -- [there is] no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans; for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.

²Kuhaa ang mga galingan nga bato, ug galinga ang harina; tangtanga ang imong pandong, kuhaa ang ikog sa saya, huboi ang bitiis, ubog sa kasapaan.

²Take the millstones, and grind meal; remove thy veil, lift up the train, uncover the leg, pass over rivers:

³Ang imong pagkahubo pagabuksan, oo, ang imong kaulaw pagahikit-an: ako magapanimalus, ug walay tawo nga pagagawason.

³thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen. I will take vengeance, and I will meet none [to stay me]. ...

⁴Ang atong Manunubos, si Jehova sa mga panon mao ang iyang ngalan, ang Balaan sa Israel.

⁴Our Redeemer, Jehovah of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel. ...

⁵Lumingkod ka nga maghilum, ug umadto ka sa kangitngitan, Oh anak nga babaye sa mga Caldeahanon; kay ikaw dili na pagatawgon. Ang reina sa mga gingharian.

⁵Sit silent, and get thee into darkness, daughter of the Chaldeans; for thou shalt no more be called, Mistress of kingdoms.

⁶Ako naligutgut sa akong katawohan, gipanamastamasan ko ang akong panulondon, ug gihatag nako sila sa imong kamot: ikaw wala magpakita kanila ug kalooy; apan ang tigulang gipahamug-atan mo pag-ayo sa imong yugo.

⁶I was wroth with my people, I polluted mine inheritance, and gave them into thy hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the aged didst thou very heavily lay thy yoke;

⁷Ug ikaw nag-ingon: Ako mahimong reina sa walay katapusan; busa wala mo ipasantop kining mga butanga sa imong kasingkasing, ni mahinumduman nimo ang katapusan niini.

⁷and thou saidst, I shall be a mistress for ever; so that thou didst not take these things to heart, thou didst not remember the end thereof.

⁸Busa karon pamatia kini, ikaw nga anaa sa mga kalipayan, nga nagalingkod sa malig-on, ug nagaingon sa imong kasingkasing: Ako mao, ug wala nay lain gawas kanako; ako dili magalingkod sama sa usa ka babayeng balo, ni makaila ako sa pagkawalay mga bata:

⁸And now hear this, thou voluptuous one, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thy heart, It is I, and there is none but me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know loss of children:

⁹Apan kining duruha ka butang modangat kanimo sa dihadiha sa usa ka adlaw, ang pagkawala sa mga bata, ug ang pagkabalo; sa igo mga sukod sila modangat kanimo, sa kadaghan sa imong mga salamangka, ug sa pagkadaku nga hilabihan sa imong mga lamat.

⁹yet these two things shall come upon thee in a moment, in one day, loss of children and widowhood; they shall come upon thee in full measure for the multitude of thy sorceries, for the great abundance of thine enchantments.

¹⁰Kay ikaw nagsalig sa imong pagkadautan; ikaw nag-ingon: Walay nakakita kanako; ang imong kaalam, ug ang imong kahibalo kana maoy nakapasimang kanimo; ug ikaw nag-ingon sulod sa imong kasingkasing: Ako mao, ug wala nay lain gawas kanako.

¹⁰For thou hast confided in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath seduced thee; and thou hast said in thy heart, It is I, and there is none but me.

¹¹Tungod niini ang kadautan modangat kanimo; ikaw dili mahibalo sa pagkabanagbanag niini: ug ang kadaut mahulog sa ibabaw nimo; ikaw dili makahimo sa pagsalikway niini: ug ang kalaglagan modangat sa ibabaw nimo sa kalit, sa wala lamang nimo hibaloi.

¹¹But evil shall come upon thee -- thou shalt not know from whence it riseth; and mischief shall fall upon thee, which thou shalt not be able to ward off; and desolation that thou suspectest not shall come upon thee suddenly.

¹²Tumindog ka karon uban ang imong mga paglamat, ug uban sa gidaghanon sa imong mga salamangka, diin ikaw nagbuhat gikan pa sa imong pagkabatan-on; sa ingon niana tingali ikaw makapahamulos; ug kong kini mao, tingali ikaw makahimo sa pagdaug.

¹²Stand now with thine enchantments and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to turn them to profit, if so be thou mayest cause terror.

¹³Ikaw gikapuyan sa gidaghanon sa imong mga tambag: pasagdi karon ang mga astrologo, ang maghalangad sa mga bitoon, ang mga manalagna sa bulanbulan, manindog, ug magluwas kanimo gikan sa mga butang nga modangat sa ibabaw nimo.

¹³Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the interpreters of the heavens, the observers of the stars, who predict according to the new moons what shall come upon thee, stand up, and save thee.

¹⁴Ania karon, sila mahisama sa mga tuod sa balili; ang kalayo magasunog kanila; sila dili makaluwas sa ilang kaugalingon gikan sa gahum sa siga: kini dili man mausa ka baga nga arang pagadangkahan, ni kalayo aron alirongan.

¹⁴Behold, they shall be as stubble, the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, [nor] fire to sit before it.

¹⁵Sa ingon niini ang mga butang moabut kanimo diin ikaw magbuhat: sila nga nanagpatigayon uban kanimo gikan pa sa imong pagkabatan-on managsalaag ang tagsatagsa ngadto sa iyang kaugalingon nga dapit: wala nay bisan usa nga makaluwas kanimo.

¹⁵Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, they that trafficked with thee from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his own quarter; there is none to save thee.
