¹Sa sinugdan sa paghari ni Joacim ang anak nga lalake ni Josias, nga hari sa Juda, miabut kining pulonga gikan kang Jehova, nga nagaingon:

¹In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, came this word from Jehovah, saying,

²Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova: Tindog sa sawang sa balay ni Jehova, ug sumulti ka sa tanang mga ciudad sa Juda, nga nanganhi aron sa pag-ampo sulod sa balay ni Jehova, ang tanang mga pulong nga gisugo ko kanimo nga isulti kanila; ayaw pagkuhai bisan usa ka pulong:

²Thus saith Jehovah: Stand in the court of Jehovah's house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in Jehovah's house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them: diminish not a word.

³Tingali nga sila managpatalinghug, ug ang tagsatagsa ka tawo mobiya sa dautan niyang dalan, aron pagabasulan ko ang dautan nga tuyo nga buhaton ko kanila tungod sa kadautan sa ilang mga buhat.

³Peradventure they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil which I purpose to do unto them because of the wickedness of their doings.

⁴Ug magaingon ka kanila: Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova: Kong kamo dili managpatalinghug kanako, sa paglakaw sa akong Kasugoan, nga akong gibutang sa inyong atubangan,

⁴And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah: If ye will not hearken unto me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,

⁵Sa pagpatalinghug sa mga pulong sa akong mga alagad ang mga manalagna, nga gipaanha ko kaninyo, bisan sa pagbangon pagsayo ug sa pagpadala kanila, apan kamo wala managpatalinghug;

⁵to hearken unto the words of my servants the prophets, whom I have sent unto you, even rising early and sending [them], but ye have not hearkened,

⁶Nan buhaton ko kining balaya nga sama sa Silo, ug akong buhaton kining ciudara nga tinunglo sa tanang mga nasud sa yuta.

⁶-- then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

⁷Ug ang mga sacerdote ug ang mga manalagna ug ang tibook katawohan nakabati kang Jeremias nga namulong niining mga pulonga didto sa balay ni Jehova.

⁷And the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of Jehovah.

⁸Ug nahitabo, nga sa tapus si Jeremias makapamulong kanila sa tanang gisugo ni Jehova nga isulti sa tibook katawohan, nga mingdakup kaniya ng mga sacerdote ug ang mga manalagna ug ang tibook katawohan nga nanagingon: Sa pagkatinuod mamatay ka gayud.

⁸And it came to pass when Jeremiah had ended speaking all that Jehovah had commanded [him] to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying, Thou shalt certainly die.

⁹Nganong nanagna ka sa ngalan ni Jehova nga nagaingon: Kining balaya mahisama sa Silo, ug kining ciudara mahimong biniyaan, nga walay pumoluyo? Ug ang tibook katawohan minghugop ngadto kang Jeremias didto sa balay ni Jehova.

⁹Why hast thou prophesied in the name of Jehovah, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah.

¹⁰Ug sa pagkadungog sa mga principe sa Juda niining mga butanga, sila mingtungas gikan sa balay sa hari ngadto sa balay ni Jehova; ug minglingkod sila sa dapit sa pagsulod mo sa bag-ong ganghaan sa balay ni Jehova.

¹⁰And the princes of Judah heard these things; and they went up from the king's house unto the house of Jehovah, and sat in the entry of the new gate of Jehovah.

¹¹Unya ang mga sacerdote ug ang mga manalagna namulong sa mga principe ug sa tibook katawohan, sa pag-ingon: Kining tawohana angay sa kamatayon; kay siya nagtagna batok niini nga ciudad, ingon sa nadungog ninyo sa inyong mga igdulungog.

¹¹And the priests and the prophets spoke unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die, for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.

¹²Unya misulti si Jeremias sa tanang mga principe ug sa tibook katawohan, nga nagaingon: Si Jehova nagpadala kanako aron sa pagpanagna batok niining balay ug batok niining ciudara sa tanang mga pulong nga inyong nadungog.

¹²And Jeremiah spoke to all the princes and to all the people, saying, Jehovah sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard.

¹³Busa karon, ayohon ninyo ang inyong mga dalan ug ang inyong mga binuhatan, ug tahuron ninyo ang tingog ni Jehova nga inyong Dios; ug pagabasulan ni Jehova ang kadautan nga iyang gipamulong batok kaninyo.

¹³And now, amend your ways and your doings, and hearken to the voice of Jehovah your God; and Jehovah will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.

¹⁴Apan mahitungod kanako, ania karon, ako ania sa inyong kamot: buhata kanako ang gihunahuna ninyo nga maayo ug matarung sa inyong mga pagtan-aw.

¹⁴But as for me, behold, I am in your hand; do unto me as seemeth good and right in your eyes:

¹⁵Apan hibaloi lamang ninyo nga sa pagkamatuod kong patyon ninyo ako, magadala kamo ug dugo nga inocente sa ibabaw sa inyong kaugalingon, ug sa ibabaw niining ciudara, ug sa ibabaw sa mga pumoluyo niini; kay sa pagkamatuod, si Jehova nagpadala kanako nganhi kaninyo aron sa pagsulti niining mga pulong sa inyong mga igdulungog.

¹⁵only know for certain that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof; for of a truth Jehovah hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.

¹⁶Unya ang mga principe ug ang tibook katawohan mingsulti sa mga sacerdote ug sa mga manalagna: Kining tawohana dili angay sa kamatayon: kay siya misulti kanato sa ngalan ni Jehova nga atong Dios.

¹⁶And the princes and all the people said unto the priests and to the prophets, This man is not worthy to die; for he hath spoken to us in the name of Jehovah our God.

¹⁷Unya mingtindog ang uban sa mga anciano sa yuta, ug namulong sa katilingban sa katawohan sa pag-ingon:

¹⁷And there rose up certain of the elders of the land and spoke to all the congregation of the people, saying,

¹⁸Si Miqueas ang Morasti nagtagna sa mga adlaw ni Ezechias nga hari sa Juda; ug siya misulti sa tibook katawohan sa Juda, nga nagaingon: Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova sa mga panon: Ang Sion pagadarohon sama sa uma, ug ang Jerusalem mahimong ingon sa mga tinapok, ug ang bukid sa balay mahisama sa hatag-as nga mga dapit sa usa ka lasang.

¹⁸Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Zion shall be ploughed [as] a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.

¹⁹Si Ezechias nga hari sa Juda ug ang tibook nga Juda mingpatay ba kaniya? wala ba siya mahadlok kang Jehova ug magpakilooy kang Jehova, ug si Jehova wala ba magbasul sa iyang kaugalingon sa kadaut nga iyang gipamulong batok kanila? Mao kini ang dakung kadaut nga atong mahimo batok sa atong kaugalingong mga kalag.

¹⁹Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? Did he not fear Jehovah, and supplicate Jehovah, and Jehovah repented him of the evil that he had pronounced against them? And we should be doing a great evil against our souls.

²⁰Ug may usa usab ka tawo nga nagtagna sa ngalan ni Jehova, si Urias nga anak nga lalake ni Semei sa Kiriath-jearim; ug siya nagtagna batok niining ciudara ug batok niining yutaa sumala sa tanang mga pulong ni Jeremias.

²⁰And there was also a man that prophesied in the name of Jehovah, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim: and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah;

²¹Ug sa diha nga si Joacim nga hari, uban ang iyang mga makusganonong tawo, ug ang tanang mga principe, nakadungog sa iyang mga pulong, ang hari naninguha sa pagpatay kaniya; apan sa pagkadungog ni Urias niini, siya nahadlok, ug mikalagiw, ug miadto sa Egipto.

²¹and Jehoiakim the king, and all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, and the king sought to put him to death; but Urijah heard it, and he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt.

²²Ug si Joacim ang hari nagpadala ug mga tawo ngadto sa Egipto nga mao si Elnathan, ang anak nga lalake ni Acbor, ug pipila ka mga tawo uban kaniya nga ming-adto sa Egipto.

²²And Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and men with him, into Egypt;

²³Ug ilang gikuha si Urias gikan sa Egipto, ug gidala siya ngadto kang Joacim nga hari, nga mipatay kaniya sa pinuti, ug gitambog ang iyang patay nga lawas ngadto sa lubnganan sa mga tawong timawa.

²³and they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him to Jehoiakim the king; and he slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the children of the people.

²⁴Apan ang kamot ni Ahicam ang anak nga lalake ni Safan diha uban kang Jeremias, aron siya dili ihatag nila ngadto sa kamot sa mga tawo nga buot mopatay kaniya.

²⁴-- Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
