¹Nan mao kini ang mga pulong sa sulat ni Jeremias nga manalagna nga gipadala niya gikan sa Jerusalem ngadto sa mga salin sa mga anciano sa mga binihag, ug ngadto sa mga sacerdote, ug sa mga manalagna, ug sa tibook nga katawohan nga gibihag ni Nabucodonosor gikan sa Jerusalem ngadto sa Babilonia.

¹And these are the words of the letter that the prophet Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to the residue of the elders of the captivity, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon

²(Sa human manggikan sa Jerusalem si Jechonias nga hari, ug ang reina nga inahan, ug ang mga eunoco, ug ang mga principe sa Juda ug sa Jerusalem, ug ang mga panday sa kahoy ug sa puthaw),

²(after that Jeconiah the king, and the queen, and the eunuchs, the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the craftsmen, and the smiths, had departed from Jerusalem);

³Pinaagi sa kamot si Elasa ang anak nga lalake ni Safan, ug ni Jemarias, ang anak nga lalake ni Hilcias (nga maoy gipadala ni Sedechias nga hari sa Juda ngadto sa Babilonia kang Nabucodonosor nga hari sa Babilonia), sa pag-ingon:

³by the hand of Elasah the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah the son of Hilkijah (whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent to Babylon, unto Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon), saying,

⁴Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova sa mga panon, ang Dios sa Israel, ngadto sa tanang binihag, nga akong gipadala nga binihag gikan sa Jerusalem ngadto sa Babilonia:

⁴Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all the captivity, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon:

⁵Magtukod kamo ug mga balay, ug pumuyo kamo niana; ug magtanum kamo ug mga tanaman, ug kumaon sa mga bunga nila.

⁵Build houses, and dwell in them, and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

⁶Mangasawa kamo ug manganak kamo ug mga anak nga lalake ug mga anak nga babaye; ug papangasaw-a ang inyong mga anak nga lalake, ug papamanaha ang inyong mga anak nga babaye aron sila manganak ug mga anak nga lalake ug mga anak nga babaye: ug dumaghan kamo didto, ug ayaw pag-ipapuo ang inyong kaliwat .

⁶Take wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; and multiply there, and be not diminished.

⁷Ug pangitaa ang pakigdait sa ciudad diin ngadto kamo gipabihag ko, ug manag-ampo kamo kang Jehova mahatungod niini; kay tungod sa pakigdait niini, kamo makabaton sa pakigdait.

⁷And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray unto Jehovah for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

⁸Kay mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova sa mga panon, ang Dios sa Israel: Ayaw kamo pagpalimbong sa inyong mga manalagna ug sa inyong mga magtatagna nga anaa sa taliwala ninyo, ni managpatalinghug kamo sa inyong mga damgo, nga inyong gipanamgo.

⁸For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Let not your prophets that are in your midst, nor your diviners deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams, which ye like to dream.

⁹Kay sila nanagpanagna ug bakak kaninyo sa akong ngalan: ako wala magpadala kanila, nagaingon si Jehova.

⁹For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith Jehovah.

¹⁰Kay mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova: Sa tapus matuman ang kapitoan ka tuig sa Babilonia, du-awon ko kamo, ug tumanon ko ang akong maayong pulong nganha kaninyo, sa pagpabalik kaninyo nganhi niining dapita.

¹⁰For thus saith Jehovah: When seventy years shall be accomplished for Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in bringing you back to this place.

¹¹Kay ako mahibalo sa mga hunahuna nga gihunahuna ko alang kaninyo, nagaingon si Jehova, mga hunahuna sa pakigdait, ug dili sa kadautan sa paghatag kaninyo ug paglaum sa inyong kaugmaon.

¹¹For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you in your latter end a hope.

¹²Ug kamo managpanggilaba kanako, ug kamo moadto ug manag-ampo kanako, ug ako magapatalinghug kaninyo.

¹²And ye shall call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you;

¹³Ug kamo mangita kanako, ug makakaplag kanako, sa diha nga kamo mangita kanako uban ang inyong bugos nga kasingkasing,

¹³and ye shall seek me and find me, for ye shall search for me with all your heart,

¹⁴Ug ako hikaplagan ninyo, nagaingon si Jehova, ug akong bakwion ang inyong pagkabinihag, ug tigumon ko kamo gikan sa tanang mga nasud, ug gikan sa tanang mga dapit diin giabog ko kamo, nagaingon si Jehova; ug dad-on ko kamo pagbalik sa dapit diin gipabihag ko kamo.

¹⁴and I will be found of you, saith Jehovah. And I will turn your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith Jehovah; and I will bring you again into the place whence I have caused you to be carried away captive.

¹⁵Tungod kay kamo nanag-ingon: Si Jehova nagpatindog kanamo ug mga manalagna didto sa Babilonia;

¹⁵If ye say, Jehovah hath raised us up prophets in Babylon;

¹⁶Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova mahitungod sa hari nga nagalingkod sa trono ni David, ug mahatungod sa tibook katawohan nga nanagpuyo niining ciudara, ang inhong mga kaigsoonan nga wala moadto uban kaninyo sa pagkabihag;

¹⁶yea, thus saith Jehovah concerning the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and concerning all the people that dwell in this city, your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity;

¹⁷Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova sa mga panon: Ania karon, ako magpadala kanila sa espada, sa gutom, ug sa kamatay, ug himoon ko sila nga ingon sa mangil-ad nga mga igos nga dili makaon, kay sila dautan sa hilabihan.

¹⁷thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Behold, I will send against them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like the vile figs, that cannot be eaten for badness.

¹⁸Ug lutoson ko sila uban sa espada, uban sa gutom, ug uban sa kamatay, ug itugyan ko sila aron igatugpo-tugpo sila sa tanang mga gingharian, sa yuta aron mahimong tinunglo, ug usa nga makapahibulong, ug usa nga sinitsitan uban ang pagbiaybiay, ug usa ka talamayon sa taliwala sa tanang mga nasud diin ngadto giabog ko sila;

¹⁸And I will pursue them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will give them over to be driven hither and thither into all the kingdoms of the earth, to be an execration, and an astonishment, and a hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I will drive them:

¹⁹Tungod kay sila wala managpatalinghug sa akong mga pulong, nagaingon si Jehova, nga gipadala ko ngadto kanila pinaagi sa akong mga alagad nga mga manalagna, nga mingbangon pagsayo, ug nagpadala kanila; apan kamo wala mamati, nagaingon si Jehova.

¹⁹because they have not hearkened to my words, saith Jehovah, wherewith I sent unto them my servants the prophets, rising early and sending; but ye have not hearkened, saith Jehovah.

²⁰Busa pamati kamo sa pulong ni Jehova, kamong tanan nga binihag, nga akong gipapahawa gikan sa Jerusalem ngadto sa Babilonia:

²⁰But ye, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon, hear the word of Jehovah.

²¹Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova sa mga panon, ang Dios sa Israel, mahitungod kang Achab, anak nga lalake ni Colaya, ug mahitungod kang Sedechias, anak nga lalake ni Maasis, nga nagatagna ug bakak kaninyo sa akong ngalan: Ania karon, ako silang itugyan ngadto sa kamot ni Nabucodonosor, hari sa Babilonia; ug sila pagapatyon niya sa atubangan sa inyong mga mata;

²¹Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, who prophesy falsehood unto you in my name: Behold, I will give them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall smite them before your eyes.

²²Ug gikan kanila pagakuhaon ang tunglo sa tanang mga binihag sa Juda nga atua sa Babilonia, nga nagaingon: Si Jehova naghimo kanimo nga sama kang Sedechias ug sama kang Achab, nga giasal sa kalayo sa hari sa Babilonia;

²²And of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captivity of Judah that are in Babylon, saying, Jehovah make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire;

²³Tungod kay nanamastamas sila sa Israel, ug nanapaw sa mga asawa sa ilang mga isigkatawo, ug nagsulti sa bakak sa akong ngalan nga wala ko igasugo kanila; ug ako maoy nahibalo, ug maoy saksi, nagaingon si Jehova.

²³because they have committed infamy in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours' wives, and have spoken words of falsehood in my name, which I had not commanded them: and I [am] he that knoweth, and [am] witness, saith Jehovah.

²⁴Ug mahitungod kang Semaias, ang taga-Nehelam, sumulti ka, sa pag-ingon:

²⁴And thou shalt speak to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying,

²⁵Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova sa mga panon, ang Dios sa Israel, sa pag-ingon: Tungod kay nagpadala ka ug mga sulat sa imong kaugalingong ngalan ngadto sa tibook katawohan nga anaa sa Jerusalem, ug kang Sofonias, anak nga lalake ni Maasias, nga sacerdote, ug sa tanang mga sacerdote, sa pag-ingon:

²⁵Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy name unto all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying,

²⁶Si Jehova nagbuhat kanimo nga sacerdote ilis ni Joyada nga sacerdote, aron may mga punoan sa balay ni Jehova, alang sa tagsatagsa ka tawo nga buang, ug nagapakamanalagna siya sa bilanggoan ug ibalhog mo sa sepohan.

²⁶Jehovah hath made thee priest in the stead of Jehoiada the priest, that there should be officers [in] the house of Jehovah, over every madman and self-made prophet, that thou shouldest put him in the stocks and in the shackles.

²⁷Busa karon, nganong wala mo badlonga si Jeremias nga taga-Anatoth, nga nagahimo sa iyang kaugalingon nga manalagna kaninyo,

²⁷And now, why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, who maketh himself a prophet to you?

²⁸Tungod kay niini iyang gipadala kita ngadto sa Babilonia, nga nagaingon: Ang pagkabinihag madugay man: magtukod kamo ug mga balay, ug puy-i sila; ug pagbuhat ug mga tanaman, ug kumaon kamo sa mga bunga niini?

²⁸Forasmuch as he hath sent unto us in Babylon, saying, It will be long; build houses, and dwell [in them], and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

²⁹Ug si Sofonias nga sacerdote mibasa niining sulata sa mga igdulungog ni Jeremias nga manalagna.

²⁹-- And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of the prophet Jeremiah.

³⁰Unya midangat ang pulong ni Jehova kang Jeremias, nga nagaingon:

³⁰And the word of Jehovah came unto Jeremiah, saying,

³¹Ipadala kanila sa tanang mga binihag, nga nagaingan: Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova mahitungod kang Semaya nga Nehelamnon: Tungod kay si Semaias nagtagna kaninyo, ug wala man ako magpadala kaniya, ug nagpasalig kaninyo sa bakak;

³¹Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith Jehovah concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he hath caused you to trust in falsehood;

³²Busa mao nga miingon si Jehova: Ania karon, akong silotan si Semaias nga taga-Nehelam, ug ang iyang kaliwatan; siya dili na makahupot ug usa ka tawo nga magapuyo sa taliwala niining katawohan; ni makakita siya sa kaayohan nga buhaton ko alang sa akong katawohan, nagaingon si Jehova, tungod kay siya nagtudlo ug pagsukol batok kang Jehova.

³²therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he see the good that I will do for my people, saith Jehovah; because he hath spoken revolt against Jehovah.
