¹Ug sa wala pa ang fiesta sa pasko, si Jesus nga nanghibalo nga miabut ang iyang takna sa iyang paggikan niining kalibutana paingon sa Amahan, sa gihigugma niya ang mga iya nga ania sa kalibutan, gihigugma niya sila hangtud sa katapusan.

¹Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus, knowing that his hour had come that he should depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, loved them to the end.

²Ug sa miabut ang panihapon, sa nakapatidlum na ang yawa sa kasingkasing ni Judas Iscariote, nga anak ni Simon, ang sa mabudhion magtugyan kaniya.

²And during supper, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas [son] of Simon, Iscariote, that he should deliver him up,

³Si Jesus, nga nahibalo nga gitugyan sa Amahan ang tanan nga mga butang sa iyang mga kamot, ug nga siya migikan sa Dios, ug sa Dios mopaingon.

³[Jesus,] knowing that the Father had given him all things into his hands, and that he came out from God and was going to God,

⁴Mitindog gikan sa panihapon, ug mihubo sa iyang mga bisti; ug mikuha sa usa ka pamahiran, ug iyang gibakus.

⁴rises from supper and lays aside his garments, and having taken a linen towel he girded himself:

⁵Unya iyang gisudlan ug tubig ang dolang, ug gisugdan niya paghugas ang mga tiil sa mga tinon-an, ug sa pagpahid kanila sa pamahiran, nga iyang gibakus.

⁵then he pours water into the washhand basin, and began to wash the feet of the disciples, and to wipe them with the linen towel with which he was girded.

⁶Unya mingduol siya kang Simon Pedro. Siya miingon kaniya: Ginoo, pagahugasan mo ba ang akong mga tiil?

⁶He comes therefore to Simon Peter; and *he* says to him, Lord, dost thou wash *my* feet?

⁷Si Jesus mitubag, ug miingon kaniya: Sa akong ginabuhat ikaw dili karon makasabut; apan makasabut ka ra sa ulahi.

⁷Jesus answered and said to him, What I do thou dost not know now, but thou shalt know hereafter.

⁸Si Pedro miingon kaniya: Dili ka gayud maghugas sa akong mga tiil. Si Jesus mitubag kaniya: Kong dili ako magahugas kanimo, ikaw dili makaambit kanako.

⁸Peter says to him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, Unless I wash thee, thou hast not part with me.

⁹Miingon kaniya si Simon Pedro: Ginoo, dili lamang ang akong mga tiil, kondili ang ako usab nga mga kamot ug ang akong ulo.

⁹Simon Peter says to him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.

¹⁰Si Jesus miingon kaniya: Ang nakakaligo, dili kinahanglan magpanghugas, gawas sa mga tiil, apan ang tibook mahinlo. Ug kamo mga mahinlo, apan dili kamong tanan.

¹⁰Jesus says to him, He that is washed all over needs not to wash save his feet, but is wholly clean; and ye are clean, but not all.

¹¹Kay naila niya kadtong sa mabudhion magatugyan kaniya; tungod niini miingon siya: Kamong tanan dili mga mahinlo.

¹¹For he knew him that delivered him up: on account of this he said, Ye are not all clean.

¹²Ug sa nahugasan niya sila sa mga tiil, ug nakakuha sa iyang mga bisti, milingkod pag-usab sa lamesa, ug miingon kanila: Nakasabut ba kamo sa akong gihimo kaninyo?

¹²When therefore he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, having sat down again, he said to them, Do ye know what I have done to you?

¹³Kamo nagangalan kanako nga Magtutudlo ug Ginoo; ug kamo nanag-ingon sa maayo, kay mao ako.

¹³Ye call me the Teacher and the Lord, and ye say well, for I am [so].

¹⁴Busa kong ako nga Ginoo ug Magtutudlo mihugas kaninyo sa mga tiil, kinahanglan usab kamo maghinugasay sa mga tiil ang usa ug usa.

¹⁴If I therefore, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet;

¹⁵Kay ako nagahatag kaninyo ug panig-ingnan, aron kamo magbuhat usab ingon sa akong gibuhat kaninyo.

¹⁵for I have given you an example that, as I have done to you, ye should do also.

¹⁶Sa pagkamatuod, sa pagkamatuod, nagaingon ako kaninyo: Ang ulipon dili labaw sa iyang agalon; ug ang gisugo dili labaw sa nagsugo kaniya.

¹⁶Verily, verily, I say to you, The bondman is not greater than his lord, nor the sent greater than he who has sent him.

¹⁷Kong kamo nakasabut niining mga butanga, bulahan kamo kong inyong gibuhat sila.

¹⁷If ye know these things, blessed are ye if ye do them.

¹⁸Ako wala magsulti mahatungod kaninyo ngatanan; ako nakaila sa akong mga gipili, apan aron matuman ang Kasulatan; Ang mokaon sa tinapay uban kanako, gipatindog niya batok kanako ang iyang tikod.

¹⁸I speak not of you all. I know those whom I have chosen; but that the scripture might be fulfilled, He that eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.

¹⁹Sukad karon magasugilon ako kaninyo, sa dili pa mahitabo, aron kong unya mahitabo na, motoo kamo, nga ako mao si Cristo.

¹⁹I tell you [it] now before it happens, that when it happens, ye may believe that I am [he].

²⁰Sa pagkamatuod, sa pagkamatuod, nagaingon ako kaninyo: Ang nagadawat sa bisan kang kinsa nga akong pagasugo-on, kanako nagadawat; ug ang nagadawat kanako nagadawat niadtong nagsugo kanako.

²⁰Verily, verily, I say to you, He who receives whomsoever I shall send receives me; and he that receives me receives him who has sent me.

²¹Sa nakasulti si Jesus niini, nasamok siya sa iyang espiritu, ug nagpamatuod ug miingon: Sa pagkamatuod, sa pagkamatuod, nagaingon ako kaninyo, nga usa kaninyo nagabudhi sa pagtugyan kanako.

²¹Having said these things, Jesus was troubled in spirit, and testified and said, Verily, verily, I say to you, that one of you shall deliver me up.

²²Unya ang mga tinon-an nagtinan-away ang usa sa usa, nga nagaduhaduha kong tungod kang kinsa ang gisulti niya.

²²The disciples therefore looked one on another, doubting of whom he spoke.

²³Ug ang usa kanila nga gihigugma ni Jesus, miuraray sa iyang dughan;

²³Now there was at table one of his disciples in the bosom of Jesus, whom Jesus loved.

²⁴Busa, kini giyangoan ni Simon Pedro sa iyang ulo, aron pangutan-on kong kinsa ang ginasulti niya.

²⁴Simon Peter makes a sign therefore to him to ask who it might be of whom he spoke.

²⁵Ug siya nga miuraray sa dughan ni Jesus, miingon kaniya: Ginoo, kinsa ba?

²⁵But he, leaning on the breast of Jesus, says to him, Lord, who is it?

²⁶Unya si Jesus mitubag: Mao kadto nga alang kaniya pagahumdon ko ang tinapay ug ihatag ko kaniya. Ug sa iyang nahumod na ang tinapay, gihatag niya kang Judas Iscariote, nga anak ni Simon.

²⁶Jesus answers, He it is to whom I, after I have dipped the morsel, give it. And having dipped the morsel, he gives it to Judas [son] of Simon, Iscariote.

²⁷Ug sa tapus madawat ang tinapay, misulod si Satanas kaniya. Unya si Jesus miingon kaniya: Ang imong pagabuhaton, buhata sa madali.

²⁷And, after the morsel, then entered Satan into him. Jesus therefore says to him, What thou doest, do quickly.

²⁸Apan sa mga nagalingkod sa lamesa walay bisan kinsa nga nanghibalo kong ngano nga iyang gipamulongan siya niini.

²⁸But none of those at table knew why he said this to him;

²⁹Kay ang uban nanaghunahuna nga tungod kay si Judas mao ang tinugyanan sapuntil, si Jesus miingon kaniya: Pumalit ka sa atong kinahanglanon sa fiesta, kun maghatag siya ug diyutay sa mga hangul.

²⁹for some supposed, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus was saying to him, Buy the things of which we have need for the feast; or that he should give something to the poor.

³⁰Unya sa nadawat niya ang tinapay, migula gilayon; ug gabii kadto.

³⁰Having therefore received the morsel, he went out immediately; and it was night.

³¹Busa, sa nakagula siya, miingon si Jesus: Karon ang Anak sa tawo pagahimayaon, ug ang Dios pagahimayaon pinaagi kaniya.

³¹When therefore he was gone out Jesus says, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.

³²Ug ang Dios magahimaya kaniya sa kaugalingon niya, ug magahimaya siya gilayon kaniya.

³²If God be glorified in him, God also shall glorify him in himself, and shall glorify him immediately.

³³Mga anak, ania pa ako uban kaninyo sa diyutay nga panahon. Kamo managpangita kanako, ug sumala sa giingon ko sa mga Judio: Didto sa akong pagaadtoan, dili kamo makahimo sa pag-adto; busa nagaingon ako karon kaninyo.

³³Children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me; and, as I said to the Jews, Where I go ye cannot come, I say to you also now.

³⁴Nagahatag ako kaninyo ug usa ka bag-ong sugo, nga maghigugmaay kamo ang usa ug usa; maingon nga ako nahigugma kaninyo, nga kamo usab maghigugmaay ang usa ug usa.

³⁴A new commandment I give to you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

³⁵Tungod niini ang tanan makaila nga kamo akong mga tinon-an, kong kamo maghigugmaay ang usa ug usa.

³⁵By this shall all know that ye are disciples of mine, if ye have love amongst yourselves.

³⁶Si Simon Pedro miingon: Ginoo, asa ba ikaw moadto? Si Jesus mitubag kaniya: Kong asa ako moadto, dili ka makahimo sa pagnunot kanako karon; apan moapas ra ikaw kanako sa ulahi.

³⁶Simon Peter says to him, Lord, where goest thou? Jesus answered him, Where I go thou canst not follow me now, but thou shalt follow me after.

³⁷Si Pedro miingon kaniya: Ginoo, nganong dili ako makahimo sa pagnunot kanimo karon? Ihatag ko ang akong kinabuhi tungod kanimo.

³⁷Peter says to him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thee.

³⁸Si Jesus mitubag kaniya: Ihatag mo ba ang imong kinabuhi tungod kanako? Sa pagkamatuod, sa pagkamatuod, naga-ingon ako kanimo: Dili makatuktugaok ang manok samtang dili mo ako ikalimod samakatolo.

³⁸Jesus answers, Thou wilt lay down thy life for me! Verily, verily, I say to thee, The cock shall not crow till thou hast denied me thrice.
