¹Ug nahitabo, nga sa nakadungog ang mga hari sa mga Amorehanon, nga didto sa luyo sa Jordan paingon sa kasadpan, ug ang tanang mga hari sa mga Canaanhon nga didto duol sa dagat, nanagpakadungog kong giunsa ni Jehova pagmala ang mga tubig sa Jordan sa atubangan sa mga anak sa Israel, hangtud nga kami nakatabok na, ang ilang mga kasingkasing nangatunaw ug wala na usab kanila ang espiritu, tungod sa mga anak sa Israel.

¹And it came to pass when all the kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, who were by the sea, heard that Jehovah had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel, until they had passed over, that their heart melted, and there was no spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel.

²Niadtong panahona si Jehova miingon kang Josue: Magbuhat ka ug mahait nga mga cuchillo, ug circuncidahon pag-usab ang mga anak sa Israel, sa ikaduha,

²At that time Jehovah said to Joshua, Make thee stone-knives, and circumcise again the children of Israel the second time.

³Ug si Josue nagbuhat alang kaniya ug mga cuchillo nga santik ug gicircuncidahan niya ang mga anak sa Israel, didto sa Gibeatnaaraloth.

³And Joshua made him stone-knives, and circumcised the children of Israel at the hill of Araloth.

⁴Mao kini ang hinungdan nga si Josue nagcircuncidar: ang tanang mga tawo nga nanggula gikan sa Egipto, ang mga lalake, ingon man ang mga manggugubat, nangamatay sa dalan sa kamingawan, tapus sila makagula gikan sa Egipto.

⁴And this is the cause why Joshua circumcised [them]: all the people that had come out of Egypt, the males, all the men of war, had died in the wilderness on the way, after they came out of Egypt.

⁵Kay ang tanang mga tawo nga nanggula pulos gicircuncidahan: apan kadtong tanan nga didto matawo sa ilang pagpanlakaw sa kamingawan, gikan sa Egipto, wala nila circuncidahi.

⁵For all the people that came out were circumcised; but all the people that were born in the wilderness on the way, after they came out of Egypt, [them] had they not circumcised.

⁶Kay ang mga anak sa Israel mingpanaw sulod sa kap-atan ka tuig sa kamingawan hangtud ang tibook nga nasud bisan ang mga tawo nga manggugubat nga nanggula sa Egipto, nangahurot, kay sila wala magpatalinghug sa tingog ni Jehova kanila si Jehova nanumpa nga sila dili niya pakitaon sa yuta nga gipanumpa ni Jehova sa ilang mga amahan nga iyang ihatag kanato, usa ka yuta nga nagapaagay sa gatas ug dugos.

⁶For the children of Israel had walked forty years in the wilderness, till the whole nation of men of war had perished who had come out of Egypt, who had not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah; to whom Jehovah had sworn that he would not show them the land which Jehovah had sworn unto their fathers that he would give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.

⁷Ug ang ilang mga anak nga iyang gisapnay ilis kanila, sila gicircuncidahan ni Josue: kay sila dili sinircuncidahan, kay sila wala man circuncidahi nila sa dalan.

⁷And their sons [whom] he raised up in their stead, them Joshua circumcised, for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them on the way.

⁸Ug nahitabo, nga sa diha nga nahuman na circuncidahi ang tibook nasud, nga sila namuyo sa ilang mga puloy-anan sa campo hangtud nga sila nangaayo na.

⁸And it came to pass when the whole nation had finished being circumcised, that they abode in their place in the camp, till they were whole.

⁹Ug si Jehova namulong kang Josue: Niining adlawa gisalikway ko na ang mga pagtamay sa Egipto kaninyo sa Tungod niini ang ngalan sa dapit ginatawag nga Gilgal; hangtud niining adlawa.

⁹And Jehovah said to Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. And the name of the place was called Gilgal to this day.

¹⁰Ug ang mga anak sa Israel nanagpuyo sa Gilgal, ug sa hapon sa ikapulo ug upat ka adlaw sa maong bulan, nagsaulog sila sa pasko didto sa kapatagan sa Jerico.

¹⁰And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and held the passover on the fourteenth day of the month, at even, in the plains of Jericho.

¹¹Ug sa pagkaugma human ang pasko, nangaon sila sa abut sa yuta, mga tinapay nga walay levadura ug mga sinanglag nga mga trigo, sa maong adlawa gayud.

¹¹And they ate of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened loaves, and roasted [corn] on that same day.

¹²Ug sa sunod nga adlaw sa nakasugod na sila pagkaon sa abut sa yuta, ang mana mihunong: ug ang mga anak sa Israel wala na ing mana: ug niadtong tuiga nangaon sila sa abut sa yuta sa Canaan.

¹²And the manna ceased on the morrow, when they had eaten of the old corn of the land; and there was no more manna for the children of Israel; and they ate of the produce of the land of Canaan that year.

¹³Ug nahitabo, nga sa didto si Josue duol sa Jerico, nga siya miyahat sa iyang mga mata ug mitan-aw, ug ania karon, sa iyang atubangan may usa ka tawo nga nagtindog ug nagbitbit sa iyang kamot ug usa ka espada nga hinuso sa sakob; ug si Josue miduol kaniya, ug miingon kaniya: Kadapig ba ikaw namo kun sa among mga kaaway?

¹³And it came to pass when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, there stood a man before him with his sword drawn in his hand. And Joshua went to him, and said to him: Art thou for us, or for our enemies?

¹⁴Ug siya miingon: Dili; apan ingon nga principe sa panon sa kasundalohan ni Jehova, mianhi ako karon. Ug si Josue mihapa sa yuta ug misimba, ug miingon kaniya: Unsa ba ang isulti sa akong agalon alang sa iyang sulogoon?

¹⁴And he said, No; for [as] captain of the army of Jehovah am I now come. Then Joshua fell upon his face to the earth, and worshipped, and said to him, What saith my lord unto his servant?

¹⁵Ug ang principe sa panon sa kasundalohan ni Jehova miingon kang Josue: Kuhaa ang sapin sa imong tiil, kay ang dapit nga imong gitindogan, yuta nga balaan man. Ug si Josue nagtuman.

¹⁵And the captain of Jehovah's army said to Joshua, Loose thy sandal from off thy foot: for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.
