¹Ug sa nakadungog ang Canaanhon, ang hari sa Arad nga nagpuyo sa habagatan, nga nagapaingon nganhi ang Israel sa dalan sa mga magpapaniid, nakig-away siya batok sa Israel, ug nakuha ang uban kanila nga bihag.

¹And the Canaanite king of Arad, who dwelt in the south, heard that Israel came by the way of Atharim, and he fought against Israel, and took some of them prisoners.

²Ug ang Israel nagbuhat ug saad kang Jehova ug miingon: Sa pagkamatuod, kong itugyan mo kining katawohan sa akong kamot, pagagub-on ko ang ilang mga kalungsoran.

²Then Israel vowed a vow to Jehovah, and said, If thou give this people wholly into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.

³Ug si Jehova nagpatalinghug sa tingog sa Israel, ug gitugyan ang Canaanhon, ug iyang gibungkag sila ug ang ilang mga kalungsoran; ug ginganlan ang ngalan niadtong dapita Horma.

³And Jehovah listened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them, and their cities. And they called the name of the place Hormah.

⁴Ug mingpanaw sila gikan sa bukid sa Hor, sa dalan sa Dagat nga Mapula, sa paglibut sa yuta sa Edom, ug nangaluya ang kalag sa katawohan tungod sa dalan.

⁴And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to go round the land of Edom; and the soul of the people became impatient on the way;

⁵Ug nagsulti ang katawohan batok sa Dios ug batok kang Moises: Ngano man nga gipatungas ninyo kami gikan sa Egipto, aron mangamatay kami niining kamingawan: Kay walay tinapay ug walay tubig ug ang among kalag giluod niining tinapaya nga hilabihan kagaan.

⁵and the people spoke against God, and against Moses, Why have ye brought us up out of Egypt that we should die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, and no water, and our soul loathes this light bread.

⁶Ug ang katawohan gipadad-an ni Jehova ug mga bitin nga mapintas, ug sila nagpamahit sa katawohan: ug nangamatay ang daghan nga katawohan sa Israel.

⁶Then Jehovah sent fiery serpents among the people, which bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

⁷Ug ang katawohan ming-adto kang Moises, ug nanag-ingon: Nakasala kami tungod kay kami nagsulti batok kang Jehova ug batok kanimo. Mag-ampo ka kang Jehova, nga kuhaon niya kanamo kining mga bitina. Ug si Moises nag-ampo tungod sa katawohan.

⁷And the people came to Moses and said, We have sinned, in that we have spoken against Jehovah, and against thee: pray to Jehovah that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.

⁸Ug si Jehova miingon kang Moises: Magbuhat ka ug usa ka bitin nga mapintas; ug kini ibutang mo sa ibabaw sa usa ka bandila; ug mahitabo nga bisan kinsa nga pahiton, sa diha nga motan-aw niini, mabuhi siya .

⁸And Jehovah said to Moses, Make thee a fiery [serpent], and set it upon a pole; and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, and looketh upon it, shall live.

⁹Ug si Moises nagbuhat ug usa ka bitin nga tumbaga, ug gibutang niya sa ibabaw sa bandila. Ug mahatabo nga kong adunay bitin nga makapahit sa bisan kang kinsa, sa diha nga siya makatan-aw sa bitin nga tumbaga, mabuhi siya.

⁹And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole; and it came to pass, if a serpent had bitten any man, and he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

¹⁰Ug mingpanaw ang mga anak sa Israel ug nagpahaluna sa campo sa Oboth.

¹⁰And the children of Israel journeyed, and encamped in Oboth.

¹¹Ug mingpanaw sila sa Oboth, ug nagpahaluna sa Iye-abarim, sa kamingawan, nga anaa sa atubangan sa Moab, sa ginasubangan sa adlaw.

¹¹And they removed from Oboth, and encamped at Ijim-Abarim, in the wilderness that is before Moab, toward the sun-rising.

¹²Gikan didto, mingpanaw sila ug nagpahaluna sa walog sa Sared.

¹²From thence they removed, and encamped at the torrent Zered.

¹³Gikan didto mingpanaw sila, ug nagpahamutang sa tabok sa Arnon, nga diha sa kamingawan, nga migula sa utlanan sa Amorehanon; kay ang Arnon mao ang utlanan sa Moab, sa taliwala sa Moab ug sa Amorehanon.

¹³From thence they removed, and encamped on the other side of the Arnon, which is in the wilderness that comes out of the border of the Amorites. For the Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.

¹⁴Busa ginaingon sa basahon sa mga Pagpanggubat ni Jehova: Vaheb sa Supa, Ug sa mga walog sa Arnon, 1

¹⁴Therefore it is said in the book of the wars of Jehovah, Vaheb in Suphah, and the brooks of Arnon;

¹⁵Ug ang banghilig sa mga walog Nga nagadulhog ngadto sa puloyanan sa Ar, Ug nagahanayhay sa ibabaw sa utlanan sa Moab.

¹⁵And the stream of the brooks which turneth to the dwelling of Ar, And inclineth toward the border of Moab.

¹⁶Ug gikan didto sila mingpanaw ngadto sa Beer: nga mao ang atabay nga giingon ni Jehova kang Moises: Pundoka ang katawohan, ug pagahatagan ko sila ug tubig.

¹⁶And from thence to Beer: that is the well of which Jehovah spoke to Moses, Assemble the people, and I will give them water.

¹⁷Unya miawit ang Israel niini nga alawiton: Saka, Oh atabay; kaniya panagawit kamo:

¹⁷Then Israel sang this song, Rise up, well! sing unto it:

¹⁸Ang atabay nga gikalot sa mga principe, Gipalalum kini sa mga kadagkuan sa katawohan, Uban sa magbubuhat sa kasugoan, ug sa ilang mga sungkod. Matana;

¹⁸Well which princes digged, which the nobles of the people hollowed out at [the word of] the lawgiver, with their staves. And from the wilderness [they went] to Mattanah;

¹⁹Ug gikan sa Matana ngadto sa Nahaliel, ug gikan sa Nahaliel ngadto sa Bamoth;

¹⁹and from Mattanah to Nahaliel; and from Nahaliel to Bamoth;

²⁰Ug gikan sa Bamoth ngadto sa walog nga diha sa kaumahan sa Moab, ngadto sa tumoy sa Pisga, nga nagalantaw ngadto sa ubos sa kamingawan.

²⁰and from Bamoth to the valley that is in the fields of Moab, to the top of Pisgah, which looks over the surface of the waste.

²¹Ug ang Israel nagpadala ug mga sulogoon ngadto kang Sihon ang hari sa mga Amorehanon, nga nagaingon:

²¹And Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,

²²Tugoti ako nga moagi sa imong yuta: kami dili mosimang ngadto sa kaumahan, kun ngadto sa kaparrasan; kami dili moinum sa tubig sa mga atabay: Kami magalakaw nga moagi sa dalan sa hari, hangtud nga kami makaagi sa imong utlanan.

²²Let us pass through thy land; we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink water out of the wells; on the king's road will we go until we have passed thy border.

²³Ug si Sihon wala tumugot sa Israel sa pag-agi sa iyang utlanan: apan si Sihon nagtigum sa tibook niyang katawohan, ug migula batok sa Israel ngadto sa kamingawan, ug miabut sa Jahas; ug nakig-away siya batok sa Israel.

²³But Sihon would not suffer Israel to go through his border; and Sihon gathered all his people, and went out against Israel into the wilderness, and came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel.

²⁴Ug ang Israel nagsamad kaniya uban sa sulab sa espada, ug gipanag-iya ang iyang yuta gikan sa Arnon ngadto sa Jaboc, bisan hangtud sa mga anak sa Ammon; kay ang utlanan sa mga anak sa Ammon malig-on.

²⁴And Israel smote him with the edge of the sword, and took possession of his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, even unto the children of Ammon; for the border of the children of Ammon was strong.

²⁵Ug ang Israel nagkuha niining tanang mga lungsod: ug ang Israel mipuyo niining tanang mga lungsod sa mga Amorehanon: didto sa Hesbon, ug sa tanang mga balangay niini.

²⁵And Israel took all these cities, and Israel dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites, at Heshbon, and in all its dependent villages.

²⁶Kay ang Hesbon mao ang lungsod ni Sihon ang hari sa mga Amorehanon, nga nagpakiggubat batok sa unang hari sa Moab, ug nagkuha sa tanan niyang kayutaan gikan sa iyang kamot, bisan hangtud sa Arnon. 1

²⁶For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites; and he had fought against the former king of Moab, and had taken all his land out of his hand, even unto the Arnon.

²⁷Tungod niini sila nga nagasulti sa mga sanglitanan nag-ingon: Umari kamo sa Hesbon; Itugo nga ang lungsod sa Hesbon pagatukoron ug lig-onon:

²⁷Therefore the poets say, Come to Heshbon; let the city of Sihon be built and established.

²⁸Kay ang kalayo migula sa Hesbon, Usa ka siga gikan sa lungsod sa Sihon: Kini nag-ut-ut sa Ar sa Moab, Ang mga harianon sa mga hatag-as nga dapit sa Arnon.

²⁸For there went forth fire from Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon; It consumed Ar of Moab, the lords of the high places of the Arnon.

²⁹Alaut kanimo, Moab! Ikaw gilaglag, Oh katawohan sa Cemos: Siya naghatag sa iyang mga anak nga lalake ingon nga mga kagiw, Ug sa iyang mga anak nga babaye ngadto sa pagkabinihag, Ngadto kang Sihon hari sa mga Amorehanon.

²⁹Woe to thee, Moab! thou art undone, people of Chemosh: He gave his sons that had escaped, and his daughters into captivity to Sihon the king of the Amorites.

³⁰Kami nagpana kanila; ang Hesbon nalaglag bisan hangtud sa Dibon, Ug kami naglumpag bisan hangtud sa Nopa, Nga miabut hangtud sa Medeba.

³⁰And we have shot at them; Heshbon is perished even unto Dibon; and we have laid [them] waste even unto Nophah, which reacheth unto Medeba.

³¹Ingon niini mipuyo ang Israel didto sa yuta sa mga Amorehanon.

³¹And Israel dwelt in the land of the Amorites.

³²Ug si Moises nagpadala ug mga tawo sa pagpaniid sa Jaser; ug ilang naagaw ang mga kalungsoran niini, ug nagpapahawa sa mga Amorehanon nga nanagpuyo didto.

³²And Moses sent to spy out Jaazer, and they took its dependent villages, and he dispossessed the Amorites that were there.

³³Ug sila namalik ug mingtungas sa dalan sa Basan: ug si Og ang hari sa Basan migula batok kanila, siya ug ang tanan niyang katawohan, sa pagpakig-away didto sa Edrei.

³³And they turned and went up by the way to Bashan; and Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he and all his people, for battle to Edrei.

³⁴Ug si Jehova miingon kang Moises: Ayaw kahadlok kaniya: kay ako nagtugyan na kaniya nganha sa imong kamot, ug ang tanan niyang katawohan, ug ang iyang kayutaan; ug ikaw magabuhat kaniya ingon sa imong gibuhat ngadto kang Sihon ang hari sa mga Amorehanon, nga nagpuyo sa Hesbon.

³⁴And Jehovah said to Moses, Fear him not! for into thy hand have I given him, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon the king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon.

³⁵Busa sila mingdasmag kaniya, ug sa iyang mga anak nga lalake ug sa tanan niyang katawohan, hangtud nga walay usa nga nahibilin kaniya: ug sila nanag-iya sa iyang kayutaan.

³⁵And they smote him, and his sons, and all his people, so that they left him none remaining, and took possession of his land.
