¹Ug nahitabo sa ikaupat ka tuig ni Joacim ang anak nga lalake ni Josias nga hari sa Juda, nga kining pulonga midangat kang Jeremias gikan kang Jehova, nga nagaingon:

¹It happened in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that this word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

²Kumuha ka ug usa ka linukot sa usa ka basahon, ug isulat niini ang tanang mga pulong na gisulti ko kanimo batok sa Israel, ug batok sa Juda, ug batok sa tanang mga nasud, sukad sa adlaw sa akong pagsulti kanimo, sukad sa mga adlaw ni Josias, bisan pa hangtud niining adlawa.

²Take a scroll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.

³Tingali nga ang balay sa Juda mamati sa tanang kadautan na gitinguha ko nga pagabuhaton kanila; aron sila mobalik ang tagsatagsa kanila gikan sa dautan niyang dalan; aron ako makapasaylo sa ilang pagkadautan ug sa ilang mga sala.

³It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do to them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.

⁴Unya si Jeremias mitawag kang Baruch ang anak nga lalake ni Nerias; ug si Baruch misulat gikan sa baba ni Jeremias sa tanang mga pulong ni Jehova, nga iyang gipamulong kaniya, diha sa linukot sa usa ka basahon.

⁴Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of Yahweh, which he had spoken to him, on a scroll of a book.

⁵Ug si Jeremias nagsugo kang Baruch, nga nagaingon: Ako gibilanggo; ako dili makaadto sa balay ni Jehova:

⁵Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I can’t go into the house of Yahweh:

⁶Busa umadto ka, ug basaha diha sa linukot, nga imong ginasulat gikan sa akong baba, ang mga pulong ni Jehova sa mga igdulungog sa mga tawo sulod sa balay ni Jehova sa adlaw sa pagpuasa; ug ingon man usab basahon mo kana sa mga igdulungog sa tibook nga Juda nga nagapanggula sa ilang mga ciudad.

⁶therefore you go, and read in the scroll, which you have written from my mouth, the words of Yahweh in the ears of the people in Yahweh’s house on the fast day; and also you shall read them in the ears of all Judah who come out of their cities.

⁷Tingali kaha nga ipasaka nila ang ilang pangamuyo sa atubangan ni Jehova, ug ang tagsatagsa mobalik gikan sa iyang dautan nga dalan: kay daku ang kasuko ug kaligutgut nga gipamulong ni Jehova batok niini nga katawohan.

⁷It may be they will present their supplication before Yahweh, and will return everyone from his evil way; for great is the anger and the wrath that Yahweh has pronounced against this people.

⁸Ug si Baruch ang anak nga lalake ni Nerias nagtuman sumala sa tanang gisugo kaniya ni Jeremias nga manalagna, nga nagbasa gikan sa basahon sa mga pulong ni Jehova sulod sa balay ni Jehova.

⁸Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of Yahweh in Yahweh’s house.

⁹Ug nahitabo sa ikalima ka tuig ni Joacim ang anak nga lalake ni Josias, nga hari sa Juda, sa ikasiyam ka bulan, nga gimantala nila ang usa ka pagpuasa sa atubangan ni Jehova sa tibook katawohan sa Jerusalem, ug sa tibook katawohan nga ming-abut gikan sa ciudad sa Juda ngadto sa Jerusalem.

⁹Now it happened in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, that all the people in Jerusalem, and all the people who came from the cities of Judah to Jerusalem, proclaimed a fast before Yahweh.

¹⁰Unya mibasa si Baruch diha sa basabon sa mga pulong ni Jeremias sulod sa balay ni Jehova, sulod sa lawak ni Gemarias ang anak nga lalake ni Safan nga escriba, sa ibabaw nga sawang, sa tukmaan sa bag-ong pultahan sa balay ni Jehova sa mga igdulungog sa tibook katawohan.

¹⁰Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of Yahweh, in the room of Gemariah the son of Shaphan, the scribe, in the upper court, at the entry of the new gate of Yahweh’s house, in the ears of all the people.

¹¹Ug sa diha nga si Micheas ang anak nga lalake ni Gemarias, ang anak nga lalake ni Safan, nakadungog sa tanang mga pulong ni Jehova gikan sa basahon,

¹¹When Micaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of Yahweh,

¹²Miadto siya sa balay sa hari, sulod sa lawak sa escriba: ug ania karon, ang tanang mga principe nanlingkod didto, nga mao si Elisama ang escriba, ug si Delaias ang anak nga lalake ni Semaias, ug si Elnathan ang anak nga lalake ni Achbor, ug si Gemarias ang anak nga lalake ni Safan, ug si Sedechias ang anak nga lalake ni Ananias, ug ang tanang mga principe.

¹²he went down into the king’s house, into the scribe’s room: and behold, all the princes were sitting there, Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.

¹³Unya si Micheas nagpahayag kanila sa tanang mga pulong nga iyang nadungog, sa pagbasa ni Baruch sa basalhon diha sa mga igdulungog sa katawohan.

¹³Then Micaiah declared to them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.

¹⁴Busa ang tanang mga principe mingpadala kang Jehudi ang anak nga lalake ni Nethanias anak nga lalake ni Selemias ang anak nga lalake ni Chusi, ngadto kang Baruch, sa pag-ingon: Dad-a sa imong kamot ang linukot diin ikaw magbasa diha sa mga igdulungog sa katawohan, ug umari ka. Busa si Baruch ang anak nga lalake ni Nerias mikuha sa linukot sa iyang kamot, ug miadto kanila.

¹⁴Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, Take in your hand the scroll in which you have read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand, and came to them.

¹⁵Ug sila ming-ingon kaniya: Lumingkod sa karon, ug basaha kini sa among mga igdulungog. Busa si Baruch mibasa niini sa ilang mga igdulungog.

¹⁵They said to him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.

¹⁶Ug nahitabo, nga sa nakadungog sila sa tanang mga pulong, giabut sila ug kahadlok sa usa ug usa, ug ming-ingon kang Baruch: Sa walay duhaduha suginlan ta gayud ang hari mahitungod niining mga pulonga.

¹⁶Now it happened, when they had heard all the words, they turned in fear one toward another, and said to Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.

¹⁷Ug sila nangutana kang Baruch, sa pag-ingon: Suginli kami karon, kong giunsa mo gayud ang pagsulat niining tanan nga mga pulong gikan sa iyang baba?

¹⁷They asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How did you write all these words at his mouth?

¹⁸Unya si Baruch mitubag kanila: Siya mibungat niining tanan nga mga pulong kanako sa iyang baba, ug gisulat ko kini sa tinta dinhi sa basahon.

¹⁸Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words to me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.

¹⁹Unya ming-ingon ang mga principe kang Baruch: Lakaw, magtago ka, ikaw ug si Jeremias; ug ayaw kamo pagpahibalo sa bisan kinsang tawo kong hain kamo.

¹⁹Then the princes said to Baruch, Go, hide, you and Jeremiah; and let no man know where you are.

²⁰Ug sila ming-adto sa hari sulod sa sawang, apan ilang gibutang ang linukot sa lawak ni Elisama nga escriba; ug gisugilon nila ang tanan nga mga pulong sa mga igdulungog sa hari.

²⁰They went in to the king into the court; but they had laid up the scroll in the room of Elishama the scribe; and they told all the words in the ears of the king.

²¹Busa si Jehudi gisugo sa hari sa pagpakuha sa linukot; ug kini iyang gikuha gikan sa lawak ni Elisama ang escriba. Ug kini gibasa ni Jehudi sa mga igdulungog sa hari, ug sa mga igdulungog sa tanang mga principe nga nanagtindog tupad sa hari.

²¹So the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll; and he took it out of the room of Elishama the scribe. Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes who stood beside the king.

²²Karon ang hari naglingkod sulod sa balay nga pahulayan sa panahon sa tingtugnaw sa ikasiyam ka bulan: ug dihay kalayo sa bagahan nga nagdilaab sa atubangan niya.

²²Now the king was sitting in the winter house in the ninth month: and there was a fire in the brazier burning before him.

²³Ug nahitabo, sa diha nga nabasa ni Jehudi ang totolo kun upat ka dahon, nga giputol kini sa hari pinaagi sa sipol, ug gisugba sa kalayo nga diha sa bagahan, hangtud nga ang tanang linukot nahurot sa kalayo nga diha sa bagahan.

²³It happened, when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, that the king cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.

²⁴Ug sila wala mangahadlok, ni manggisi sa ilang mga saput, bisan ngani ang hari, ni bisan kinsa sa iyang mga sulogoon nga nakadungog niining tanan nga mga pulong.

²⁴They were not afraid, nor tore their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants who heard all these words.

²⁵Labut pa si Elnathan ug si Delaias ug si Gemarias nagpakilooy sa hari nga dili unta niya sunogon ang linukot: apan siya wala gayud magpatalinghug kanila.

²⁵Moreover Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the scroll; but he would not hear them.

²⁶Ug ang hari misugo kang Jerameel ang anak nga lalake sa hari, ug kang Seraias ang anak nga lalake ni Ezriel, ug kang Selemias ang anak nga lalake ni Abdeel, sa pagkuha kang Baruch nga escriba ug kang Jeremias nga manalagna; apan sila gitagoan ni Jehova.

²⁶The king commanded Jerahmeel the king’s son, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet; but Yahweh hid them.

²⁷Unya ang pulong ni Jehova midangat kang Jeremias, sa tapus ang hari magsunog sa linukot nga basahon , ug sa mga pulong nga gisulat ni Baruch sa baba ni Jereias, nga nagaingon:

²⁷Then the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the scroll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,

²⁸Kumuha ka pag-usab ug laing linukot, ug isulat diha ang tanang mga pulong nga diha sa unang linukot nga gisunog ni Joacim nga hari sa Juda.

²⁸Take again another scroll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first scroll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah has burned.

²⁹Ug mahitungod kang Joacim ang hari sa Juda magaingon ka: Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova: Gisunog mo kining linukot, nga nagaingon: Nganong nagsulat ka diha, sa pag-ingon: Ang hari sa Babilonia sa pagkatinuod moanhi ug molaglag niining yutaa, ug magapahanaw gikan dinhi sa tawo ug sa mananap?

²⁹Concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah you shall say, Thus says Yahweh: You have burned this scroll, saying, Why have you written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from there man and animal?

³⁰Busa mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova mahitungod kang Joacim nga hari sa Juda: Wala siyay mausa nga palingkoron sa trono ni David, ug ang iyang lawas nga minatay igasalibay sulod sa adlaw ngadto sa init, ug sulod sa kagabhion ngadto sa tun-og.

³⁰Therefore thus says Yahweh concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: He shall have none to sit on the throne of David; and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.

³¹Ug ako magasilot gayud kaniya ug sa iyang kaliwatan ug sa iyang mga sulogoon tungod sa ilang kasal-anan; ug dad-on ko sa ibabaw nila, ug sa ibabaw sa mga pumoluyo sa Jerusalem, ug sa ibabaw sa mga tawo sa Juda, ang tanang kadautan nga gipamulong ko batok kanila: apan sila wala managpatalinghug.

³¹I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring on them, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and on the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they didn’t listen.

³²Unya mikuha si Jeremias ug laing linutok, ug gihatag kini kang Baruch nga escriba, ang anak nga lalake ni Nerias, nga maoy nagsulat didto gikan sa baba ni Jeremias sa tanang mga pulong sa basahon nga gisunog ni Joacim nga hari sa Juda: ug dihay gidugang labut pa kanila nga daghang mga pulong nga sama niini .

³²Then took Jeremiah another scroll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and there were added besides to them many like words.
