¹Ug sa tapus ang ikaunom ka adlaw gidala ni Jesus kauban niya si Pedro, ug si Jacobo, ug si Juan nga iyang igsoon ngadto sa usa ka hataas nga bukid nga hawa:

¹After six days, Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain by themselves.

²Ug nabalhin ang iyang dagway sa atubangan nila; ug nagsilaw ang iyang nawong sama sa adlaw; ug ang iyang mga bisti nangaputi sama sa kahayag.

²He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as the light.

³Ug ania karon, nagpakita kanila si Moises, ug si Elias, nga nagapakigsulti kaniya.

³Behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them talking with him.

⁴Ug si Pedro mitubag ug miingon kang Jesus: Ginoo, maayo nga magpabilin kita dinhi; kong buot ka, magbuhat ako dinhi tolo ka payag: usa alang kanimo, ug usa alang kang Moises, ug usa alang kang Elias.

⁴Peter answered, and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, let’s make three tents here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

⁵While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”

⁶Ug sa hindunggan ang mao nga tingog sa mga tinon-an, nanaghapa sila, ug nangahadlok sa hilabihan gayud.

⁶When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces, and were very afraid.

⁷Ug sa miduot si Jesus, iyang gikablit sila ug nagaingon: Tumindog kamo, ug dili kamo mangahadlok.

⁷Jesus came and touched them and said, “Get up, and don’t be afraid.”

⁸Ug sa giyahat nila ang ilang mga mata, wala silay hingkit-an nga lain kondili si Jesus na lamang.

⁸Lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus alone.

⁹Ug sa nagalugsong sila sa bukid, nagsugo kanila si Jesus, nga nagaingon: Dili kamo magsugilon bisan kang kinsa sa inyong nakita hangtud nga ang Anak sa tawo mabanhaw sa mga minatay.

⁹As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Don’t tell anyone what you saw, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.”

¹⁰Ug ang iyang mga tinon-an nanagpangutana kaniya sa pag-ingon: Ngano man nga nagaingon ang mga escriba nga si Elias kinahanglan moanhi pag-una?

¹⁰His disciples asked him, saying, “Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”

¹¹Ug sa mitubag si Jesus, nag-ingon kanila: Oo, matuod nga si Elias moanhi ug magapahauli sa tanang mga butang:

¹¹Jesus answered them, “Elijah indeed comes first, and will restore all things,

¹²Apan nagaingon ako kaninyo nga si Elias nahianhi na, ug wala nila hiilhi, apan gibuhat kaniya ang tanan nga buot nilang pagabuhaton. Ingon man usab ang Anak sa tawo pagapaantuson nila.

¹² but I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they didn’t recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted to. Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by them.”

¹³Unya nakasabut ang mga tinon-an nga siya nagsulti kanila mahatungod kang Juan nga Bautista.

¹³Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptizer.

¹⁴Ug sa miabut sila sa panon sa katawohan, miduol kaniya ang usa ka lalake ug miluhod sa atubangan niya ug miingon:

¹⁴When they came to the multitude, a man came to him, kneeling down to him, saying,

¹⁵Ginoo, kaloy-i ang akong anak nga lalake, kay patulon ug nagaantus sa hilabihan; kay sa makadaghan nahulog sa kalayo, ug sa makadaghan sa tubig.

¹⁵“Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is epileptic, and suffers grievously; for he often falls into the fire, and often into the water.

¹⁶Ug gidala ko siya sa imong mga tinon-an ug wala sila makahimo sa pag-ayo kaniya.

¹⁶So I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him.”

¹⁷Ug sa mitubag si Jesus, nag-ingon: Oh, kaliwatan nga walay pagtoo ug masukihon! Hangtud anus-a magapuyo ako kauban ninyo? Hangtud anus-a pagaantuson ko kamo? Dad-a ninyo siya dinhi kanako.

¹⁷Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation! How long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him here to me.”

¹⁸Ug gikasab-an ni Jesus siya, ug ang yawa migula kaniya, ug ang batat-on naayo sukad niadtong taknaa.

¹⁸Jesus rebuked him, the demon went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour.

¹⁹Unya miduol paglain ang mga tinon-an kang Jesus, ug nanag-ingon kaniya: Ngano nga wala kami makahimo sa paghingilin kaniya?

¹⁹Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, “Why weren’t we able to cast it out?”

²⁰Ug si Jesus miingon kanila: Tungod sa inyong pagkakulang sa pagtoo. Kay sa pagkamatuod nagaingon ako kaninyo, nga kong kamo adunay pagtoo nga ingon sa usa ka lugas sa mostaza, makaingon kamo niining bukid: Bumalhin ka gikan dinhi ngadto; ug mobalhin, ug walay bisan unsa nga makuli kaninyo.

²⁰He said to them, “Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

²¹Apan kining butanga dili mahimo kondili pinaagi sa pag-ampo ug pagpuasa.

²¹ But this kind doesn’t go out except by prayer and fasting.”

²²Ug samtang didto sila sa Galilea, miingon kanila si Jesus: Ang Anak sa tawo igatugyan sa mga kamot sa mga tawo;

²²While they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men,

²³Ug siya pagapatyon nila, ug sa ikatolo ka adlaw mabanhaw siya. Ug nanagsubo sila sa hilabihan gayud.

²³ and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up.” They were exceedingly sorry.

²⁴Ug sa miabut sila sa Capernaum, mingduol kang Pedro ang mga nagapaningil sa mga dedracma, ug nanag-ingon: Wala ba magabayad sa mga dedracma ang inyong Magtutudlo?

²⁴When they had come to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachma coins A didrachma is a Greek silver coin worth 2 drachmas, about as much as 2 Roman denarii, or about 2 days’ wages. It was commonly used to pay the half-shekel temple tax, because 2 drachmas were worth one half shekel of silver. came to Peter, and said, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the didrachma?”

²⁵He said, “Yes.” When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?”

²⁶Peter said to him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Therefore the children are exempt.

²⁷ But, lest we cause them to stumble, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take up the first fish that comes up. When you have opened its mouth, you will find a stater coin. A stater is a silver coin equivalent to four Attic or two Alexandrian drachmas, or a Jewish shekel: just exactly enough to cover the half-shekel temple tax for two people. Take that, and give it to them for me and you.”
