¹Pade Bel! Sruši se Nebo! Prte svoje kipove na životinje i stoku, nose ih kao breme, teret što zamara.

¹Bel is bowed down, Nebo bendeth; their idols are upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: the things ye carried are laid on, a burden to the weary [beast].

²Padaju, ruše se svi zajedno, ne mogu spasiti one što ih nose, nego i sami u ropstvo odlaze.

²They bend, they are bowed down together; they could not deliver the burden, and themselves are gone into captivity.

³"Slušajte me, kućo Jakovljeva, i svi koji ostadoste od kuće Izraelove! Ja sam vas ponio tek što se rodiste, i nosio vas od krila materina.

³Hearken unto me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, ye who have been borne from the belly, who have been carried from the womb:

⁴Do starosti vaše ja ću ostat' isti, do vaših sjedina podupirat ću vas. To sam činio; nosit ću vas i dalje, pomagati vas, izbavljati.

⁴Even to old age, I [am] HE, and unto hoary hairs I will carry [you]: It is I that have made, and I will bear, and I will carry, and will deliver.

⁵S kime biste me usporedili i izjednačili, s kime prispodobili: komu da sam sličan?

⁵To whom will ye liken me and make me equal, or compare me, that we may be like?

⁶Vade zlato iz kese i tezuljom mjere srebro, pa naimlju zlatara da od njeg boga načini te pred njim padaju ničice i klanjaju se.

⁶-- They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance; they hire a goldsmith, and he maketh it a ùgod: they fall down, yea, they worship.

⁷Dižu ga na rame i nose ga, onda ga stavljaju na njegovo mjesto; on stoji i ne miče se s njega. Prizivaju li ga, on ne odgovara i nikog ne spasava od nevolje njegove.

⁷They bear him on the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place; there he standeth, he doth not remove from his place: yea, one crieth unto him, and he answereth not; he saveth him not out of his trouble.

⁸Sjetite se toga i budite ljudi, uzmite to k srcu, otpadnici,

⁸Remember this, and shew yourselves men; call it to mind, ye transgressors.

⁹sjetite se prošlosti pradavne: ja sam Bog i nema drugoga; Bog, nitko mi sličan nije!

⁹Remember the former things of old; for I [am] ùGod, and there is none else; [I am] God, and there is none like me;

¹⁰Onaj sam koji od početka svršetak otkriva i unaprijed javlja što još se nije zbilo! Ja kažem: Odluka će se moja ispuniti, izvršit ću sve što mi je po volji.

¹⁰declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure;

¹¹S istoka zovem grabljivicu, iz daleke zemlje zovem čovjeka svog nauma. Rekao sam - ispunit ću, naumio sam - izvršit ću.

¹¹calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. Yea, I have spoken, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

¹²Slušajte me, vi koji gubite srčanost i koji ste daleko od pobjede.

¹²Hearken unto me, ye stout-hearted, that are far from righteousness:

¹³Primičem svoju pobjedu, nije više daleko, spasenje moje zakasniti neće. Na Sion ću spas staviti, u Izraela svoju slavu."

¹³I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not delay; and I will give salvation in Zion, [and] unto Israel my glory.
