¹{A Psalm of David: dedication-song of the house.} I will extol thee, Jehovah; for thou hast delivered me, and hast not made mine enemies to rejoice over me.

²Veličam te, Jahve, jer si me izbavio i nisi dao da se raduju nada mnom dušmani.

²Jehovah my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

³Jahve, Bože moj, zazvah te, i ti si me ozdravio;

³Jehovah, thou hast brought up my soul from Sheol, thou hast quickened me from among those that go down to the pit.

⁴Jahve, izveo si mi dušu iz Podzemlja, na rubu groba ti si me oživio.

⁴Sing psalms unto Jehovah, ye saints of his, and give thanks in remembrance of his holiness.

⁵Pjevajte Jahvi, vjernici njegovi, zahvaljujte svetom imenu njegovu!

⁵For a moment [is passed] in his anger, a life in his favour; at even weeping cometh for the night, and at morn there is rejoicing.

⁶Jer samo za tren traje srdžba njegova, a čitav život dobrota njegova. Večer donese suze, a jutro klicanje.

⁶As for me, I said in my prosperity, I shall never be moved.

⁷U svojoj sreći rekoh: "Neću se pokolebati nikada!"

⁷Jehovah, by thy favour thou hadst made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face; I was troubled.

⁸Dobrotom si me, o Jahve, na goru nade postavio, ali čim lice sakriješ, sav se uplašim.

⁸I called to thee, Jehovah, and unto the Lord did I make supplication:

⁹Tada, Jahve, zavapih k tebi i zazvah milosrđe Boga svojega:

⁹What profit is there in my blood, in my going down to the pit? shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?

¹⁰"Kakva je korist od krvi moje, kakva korist da u grob siđem? Zar će te prašina slaviti, zar će naviještati vjernost tvoju?"

¹⁰Hear, O Jehovah, and be gracious unto me; Jehovah, be my helper.

¹¹Slušaj, o Jahve, i smiluj se meni; Jahve, budi mi na pomoć!

¹¹Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing; thou hast loosed my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

¹²Okrenuo si moj plač u igranje, skinuo kostrijet s mene i opasao me radošću.

¹²That [my] glory may sing psalms of thee, and not be silent. Jehovah my God, I will praise thee for ever.

¹³Zato ti pjeva duša moja i neće zamuknuti: Jahve, Bože moj, dovijeka ću te hvaliti!
