¹Bože osvetniče, Jahve, Bože osvetniče, pokaži se.

¹O ùGod of vengeances, Jehovah, ùGod of vengeances, shine forth;

²Ustani ti što sudiš zemlju, po zasluzi plati oholima!

²Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth, render the reward to the proud.

³Dokle će bezbošci, Jahve, dokle će se bezbošci hvastati?

³How long shall the wicked, O Jehovah, how long shall the wicked triumph?

⁴Dokle će brbljati, drsko govoriti, dokle će se bezakonici hvastati?

⁴[How long] shall they utter [and] speak insolence -- all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

⁵Tlače narod tvoj, Jahve, i baštinu tvoju pritišću;

⁵They crush thy people, O Jehovah, and afflict thine inheritance;

⁶kolju udovicu i pridošlicu, sirotama život oduzimlju

⁶They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless,

⁷i govore: "Jahve ne vidi! Ne opaža Bog Jakovljev!"

⁷And say, Jah will not see, neither will the God of Jacob regard [it].

⁸Shvatite, lude u narodu: bezumni, kad ćete se urazumiti?

⁸Understand, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

⁹Onaj što uho zasadi da ne čuje? Koji stvori oko da ne vidi?

⁹He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see?

¹⁰Onaj što odgaja narode da ne kazni - Onaj što ljude uči mudrosti?

¹⁰He that instructeth the nations, shall not he correct -- he that teacheth man knowledge?

¹¹Jahve poznaje namisli ljudske: one su isprazne.

¹¹Jehovah knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

¹²Blago onom koga ti poučavaš, Jahve, i učiš Zakonu svojemu:

¹²Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jah, and whom thou teachest out of thy law;

¹³da mu mir udijeliš od nesretnih dana, dok se grob kopa zlikovcu.

¹³That thou mayest give him rest from the days of evil, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

¹⁴Jer neće Jahve odbaciti naroda svojega i svoje baštine neće napustiti;

¹⁴For Jehovah will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance;

¹⁵jer će se pravo dosuditi pravednosti i za njom će ići svi čestiti srcem.

¹⁵For judgment shall return unto righteousness, and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

¹⁶Tko će ustati za me protiv zlotvora? Tko će se zauzeti za me protiv zločinaca?

¹⁶Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? who will stand for me against the workers of iniquity?

¹⁷Da mi Jahve ne pomaže, brzo bih sišao u mjesto tišine.

¹⁷If Jehovah had not been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

¹⁸Čim pomislim: "Noga mi posrće", dobrota me tvoja, o Jahve, podupire.

¹⁸When I said, My foot slippeth, thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, held me up.

¹⁹Kad se skupe tjeskobe u srcu mome, tvoje mi utjehe dušu vesele.

¹⁹In the multitude of my anxious thoughts within me thy comforts have delighted my soul.

²⁰Zar je bezbožno sudište u savezu s tobom kad nevolje stvara pod izlikom zakona?

²⁰Shall the throne of wickedness be united to thee, which frameth mischief into a law?

²¹Nek' samo pritišću dušu pravednog, nek' osuđuju krv nedužnu:

²¹They band together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.

²²Jahve mi je utvrda, Bog - hrid utočišta moga.

²²But Jehovah will be my high tower; and my God the rock of my refuge.

²³Platit će im bezakonje njihovo, njihovom će ih zloćom istrijebiti, istrijebit će ih Jahve, Bog naš.

²³And he will bring upon them their iniquity, and will cut them off in their own evil: Jehovah our God will cut them off.
