¹ Yn y dyddiau pan oedd y bachgen Samuel yn gwasanaethu'r ARGLWYDD gerbron Eli, yr oedd gair yr ARGLWYDD yn brin, a gweledigaeth yn anfynych.

¹And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.

² Un noswaith yr oedd Eli yn gorwedd yn ei le, ac yr oedd ei lygaid wedi dechrau pylu ac yntau'n methu gweld.

²And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;

³ Nid oedd lamp Duw wedi diffodd eto, ac yr oedd Samuel yn cysgu yn nheml yr ARGLWYDD, lle'r oedd arch Duw.

³And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;

⁴ Yna galwodd yr ARGLWYDD ar Samuel. Dywedodd yntau, "Dyma fi." Rhedodd at Eli a dweud, "Dyma fi, roeddit yn galw arnaf."

⁴That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.

⁵ Atebodd ef, "Nac oeddwn, dos yn �l i orwedd." Aeth yntau a gorwedd.

⁵And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.

⁶ Yna galwodd yr ARGLWYDD eto, "Samuel!" Cododd Samuel a mynd at Eli a dweud, "Dyma fi, roeddit yn fy ngalw." Ond dywedodd ef, "Nac oeddwn, fy machgen, dos yn �l i orwedd."

⁶And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.

⁷ Yr oedd hyn cyn i Samuel adnabod yr ARGLWYDD, a chyn bod gair yr ARGLWYDD wedi ei ddatguddio iddo.

⁷Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.

⁸ Galwodd yr ARGLWYDD eto'r drydedd waith, "Samuel!" A phan gododd a mynd at Eli a dweud, "Dyma fi, roeddit yn galw arnaf," deallodd Eli mai'r ARGLWYDD oedd yn galw'r bachgen.

⁸And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.

⁹ Felly dywedodd Eli wrth Samuel, "Dos i orwedd, ac os gelwir di eto, dywed tithau, 'Llefara, ARGLWYDD, canys y mae dy was yn gwrando'." Aeth Samuel a gorwedd yn ei le.

⁹Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

¹⁰ Yna daeth yr ARGLWYDD a sefyll a galw fel o'r blaen, "Samuel! Samuel!" A dywedodd Samuel, "Llefara, canys y mae dy was yn gwrando."

¹⁰And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.

¹¹ Yna dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Samuel, "Yr wyf ar fin gwneud rhywbeth yn Israel a fydd yn merwino clustiau pwy bynnag a'i clyw.

¹¹And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.

¹² Y dydd hwnnw dygaf ar Eli y cwbl a ddywedais am ei du375?, o'r dechrau i'r diwedd;

¹²In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.

¹³ a dywedaf wrtho fy mod yn barnu ei du375? am byth, oherwydd gwyddai fod ei feibion yn melltithio Duw, ac ni roddodd daw arnynt.

¹³For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.

¹⁴ Am hynny tyngais wrth du375? Eli, 'Ni wneir iawn byth am ddrygioni tu375? Eli ag aberth nac ag offrwm'."

¹⁴And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.

¹⁵ Gorweddodd Samuel tan y bore, yna agorodd ddrysau tu375?'r ARGLWYDD; ond ofnai ddweud y weledigaeth wrth Eli.

¹⁵And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to show Eli the vision.

¹⁶ Galwodd Eli ar Samuel, "Samuel, fy machgen." Atebodd yntau, "Dyma fi." Yna holodd, "Beth oedd y neges a lefarodd ef wrthyt?

¹⁶Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.

¹⁷ Paid �'i chelu oddi wrthyf. Fel hyn y gwnelo Duw iti, a rhagor, os cuddi oddi wrthyf unrhyw beth a lefarodd ef wrthyt."

¹⁷And he said, What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.

¹⁸ Yna mynegodd Samuel y cyfan wrtho, heb gelu dim. Ac meddai yntau, "Yr ARGLWYDD yw; fe wna'r hyn sydd dda yn ei olwg."

¹⁸And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good.

¹⁹ Tyfodd Samuel, ac yr oedd yr ARGLWYDD gydag ef; ni adawodd i'r un o'i eiriau fethu.

¹⁹And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.

²⁰ Sylweddolodd Israel gyfan, o Dan hyd Beerseba, fod Samuel wedi ei sefydlu'n broffwyd i'r ARGLWYDD.

²⁰And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD.

²¹ A pharhaodd yr ARGLWYDD i ymddangos yn Seilo, oherwydd yno y'i datguddiodd ei hun i Samuel trwy ei air.

²¹And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.
