King James Version

2 Kings

19

1 Pan glywodd y Brenin Heseceia yr hanes, rhwygodd ei ddillad a rhoi sachliain amdano, a mynd i du375?'r ARGLWYDD.
1And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.
2 Yna anfonodd Eliacim, arolygwr y palas, a Sebna'r ysgrifennydd a'r rhai hynaf o'r offeiriaid, i gyd mewn sachliain, at y proffwyd Eseia fab Amos, i ddweud wrtho,
2And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
3 "Fel hyn y dywed Heseceia: 'Y mae heddiw'n ddydd o gyfyngder a cherydd a gwarth; y mae fel pe bai plant ar fin cael eu geni, a'r fam heb nerth i esgor.
3And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy; for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.
4 O na fyddai'r ARGLWYDD dy Dduw yn gwrando ar eiriau'r prif swyddog a anfonwyd gan ei feistr, brenin Asyria, i gablu'r Duw byw, ac y byddai yn ei geryddu am y geiriau a glywodd yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw! Felly dos i weddi dros y gweddill sydd ar l.'"
4It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left.
5 Pan ddaeth gweision y Brenin Heseceia at Eseia,
5So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
6 dywedodd Eseia wrthynt, "Dywedwch wrth eich meistr, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Paid ag ofni'r pethau a glywaist, pan oedd llanciau brenin Asyria yn fy nghablu.
6And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
7 Edrych, rwy'n rhoi ysbryd ynddo, ac fe glyw si fydd yn peri iddo ddychwelyd i'w wlad; hefyd gwnaf iddo syrthio gan y cleddyf yn y wlad honno.'"
7Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumor, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
8 Pan ddychwelodd y prif swyddog, cafodd ar ddeall fod brenin Asyria wedi gadael Lachis, a'i fod yn rhyfela yn erbyn Libna.
8So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
9 Ond pan ddeallodd fod Tirhaca brenin Ethiopia ar ei ffordd i ryfela yn ei erbyn, fe anfonodd genhadau eilwaith at Heseceia, a dweud,
9And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,
10 "Dywedwch wrth Heseceia brenin Jwda, 'Paid chymryd dy dwyllo gan dy Dduw yr wyt yn ymddiried ynddo, ac sy'n dweud na roddir Jerwsalem i afael brenin Asyria.
10Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
11 Yn sicr, fe glywaist am yr hyn a wnaeth brenhinoedd Asyria i'r holl wledydd, sef eu difrodi. A gei di dy arbed?
11Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?
12 A waredodd duwiau'r cenhedloedd hwy y cenhedloedd a ddinistriodd fy rhagflaenwyr, fel Gosan a Haran a Reseff, a phobl Eden oedd yn trigo yn Telassar?
12Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Thelasar?
13 Ple mae brenhinoedd Hamath, Arpad, Lair, Seffarfaim, Hena ac Ifa?'"
13Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah?
14 Cymerodd Heseceia y neges gan y cenhadau a'i darllen. Yna aeth i fyny i'r deml, a'i hagor yng ngu373?ydd yr ARGLWYDD, a gweddo fel hyn o flaen yr ARGLWYDD:
14And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
15 "O ARGLWYDD Dduw Israel, sydd wedi ei orseddu ar y cerwbiaid, ti yn unig sydd Dduw dros holl deyrnasoedd y byd; ti a wnaeth y nefoedd a'r ddaear.
15And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubim, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.
16 O ARGLWYDD, gogwydda dy glust a chlyw. O ARGLWYDD, agor dy lygaid a gwl. Gwrando'r neges a anfonodd Senacherib i watwar y Duw byw.
16LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.
17 Y mae'n wir, O ARGLWYDD, fod bren-hinoedd Asyria wedi difa'r cenhedloedd a'u gwledydd,
17Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,
18 a thaflu eu duwiau i'r tn; cawsant eu dinistrio am nad duwiau mohonynt, ond gwaith dwylo dynol, o goed a charreg.
18And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
19 Yn awr, O ARGLWYDD ein Duw, gwared ni o'i afael, ac yna caiff holl deyrnasoedd y ddaear wybod mai ti yn unig, O ARGLWYDD, sydd Dduw."
19Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD God, even thou only.
20 Anfonodd Eseia fab Amos at Heseceia, a dweud, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Israel;
20Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.
21 'Clywais yr hyn a weddaist ynglu375?n Senacherib brenin Asyria, a dyma'r gair a lefarodd yr ARGLWYDD yn ei erbyn: Y mae'r forwyn, merch Seion, yn dy ddirmygu, yn chwerthin am dy ben; y mae merch Jerwsalem yn ysgwyd ei phen ar dy l.
21This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
22 Pwy wyt ti yn ei ddifenwi ac yn ei gablu? Yn erbyn pwy y codi dy lais? Yr wyt yn gwneud ystum dirmygus yn erbyn Sanct Israel.
22Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
23 Trwy dy weision fe geblaist yr Arglwydd, a dweud, "Gyda lliaws fy ngherbydau dringais yn uchel i gopa'r mynyddoedd, i bellterau Lebanon; torrais y praffaf o'i gedrwydd, a'r dewisaf o'i ffynidwydd; euthum i'w gwr uchaf, ei lechweddau coediog.
23By thy messengers thou hast reproached the LORD, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.
24 Cloddiais bydewau ac yfed dyfroedd estron; gwadn fy nhroed sychais holl ffrydiau'r Neil.
24I have digged and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of besieged places.
25 Oni chlywaist erstalwm mai myfi a'i gwnaeth, ac imi lunio hyn yn y dyddiau gynt? Bellach rwy'n ei ddwyn i ben; bydd dinasoedd caerog yn syrthio yn garneddau wedi eu dinistrio;
25Hast thou not heard long ago how I have done it, and of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps.
26 bydd y trigolion a'u nerth yn pallu, yn ddigalon ac mewn gwarth, fel gwellt y maes, llysiau gwyrdd a glaswellt pen to wedi eu deifio cyn llawn dyfu.
26Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the house tops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.
27 Rwy'n gwybod pryd yr wyt yn eistedd, yn mynd allan ac yn dod i mewn, a'r modd yr wyt yn cynddeiriogi yn f'erbyn.
27But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.
28 Am dy fod yn gynddeiriog yn f'erbyn, a bod sen dy draha yn fy nghlustiau, fe osodaf fy mach yn dy ffroen a'm ffrwyn yn dy weflau, a'th yrru'n l ar hyd y ffordd y daethost."
28Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
29 "'Hyn fydd yr arwydd i ti: eleni, bwyteir yr u375?d sy'n tyfu ohono'i hun, a'r flwyddyn nesaf, yr hyn sydd wedi ei hau ohono'i hun; ond yn y drydedd flwyddyn cewch hau a medi, a phlannu gwin-llannoedd a bwyta eu ffrwyth.
29And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.
30 Bydd y dihangol a adewir yn nhu375? Jwda yn gwreiddio i lawr ac yn ffrwytho i fyny;
30And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.
31 oherwydd fe ddaw gweddill allan o Jerwsalem, a rhai dihangol allan o Fynydd Seion. Sl ARGLWYDD y lluoedd a wna hyn.'
31For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.
32 "Am hynny, fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD am frenin Asyria: 'Ni ddaw i mewn i'r ddinas hon, nac anfon saeth i'w mewn; nid ymesyd arni tharian, na chodi clawdd i'w herbyn.
32Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.
33 Ar hyd y ffordd y daeth, fe ddychwel; ac ni ddaw i mewn i'r ddinas hon, medd yr ARGLWYDD.
33By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.
34 Byddaf yn darian i'r ddinas hon i'w gwaredu, er fy mwyn fy hun ac er mwyn fy ngwas Dafydd.'"
34For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.
35 A'r noson honno aeth angel yr ARGLWYDD allan a tharo yng ngwersyll Asyria gant a phedwar ugain a phump o filoedd; pan ddaeth y bore cafwyd hwy i gyd yn gelanedd meirwon.
35And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
36 Yna aeth Senacherib brenin Asyria i ffwrdd a dychwelyd i Ninefe ac aros yno.
36So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
37 Pan oedd yn addoli yn nheml ei dduw Nisroch, daeth ei feibion Adrammelech a Sareser a'i ladd 'r cleddyf, ac yna dianc i wlad Ararat. Daeth ei fab Esarhadon i'r orsedd yn ei le.
37And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.
