¹ Felly ymnertha di, fy mab, yn y gras sydd yng Nghrist Iesu.

¹Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

² Cymer y geiriau a glywaist gennyf fi yng nghwmni tystion lawer, a throsglwydda hwy i ofal pobl ffyddlon a fydd yn abl i hyfforddi eraill hefyd.

²And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

³ Cymer dy gyfran o ddioddefaint, fel milwr da i Grist Iesu.

³Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

⁴ Nid yw milwr sydd ar ymgyrch yn ymdrafferthu � gofalon bywyd bob dydd, gan fod ei holl fryd ar ennill cymeradwyaeth ei gadfridog.

⁴No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

⁵ Ac os yw rhywun yn cystadlu mewn mabolgampau, ni all ennill y dorch heb gystadlu yn �l y rheolau.

⁵And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

⁶ Y ffermwr sy'n llafurio sydd �'r hawl gyntaf ar y cnwd.

⁶The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.

⁷ Ystyria beth yr wyf yn ei ddweud, oherwydd fe rydd yr Arglwydd iti ddealltwriaeth ym mhob peth.

⁷Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

⁸ Cofia Iesu Grist: ei gyfodi oddi wrth y meirw, ei eni o linach Dafydd, yn �l yr Efengyl yr wyf fi yn ei phregethu.

⁸Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:

⁹ Yng ngwasanaeth yr Efengyl hon yr wyf yn dioddef hyd at garchar, fel rhyw droseddwr, ond nid oes carchar i ddal gair Duw.

⁹Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

¹⁰ Felly, yr wyf yn goddef y cyfan er mwyn ei etholedigion, iddynt hwythau hefyd gael yr iachawdwriaeth sydd yng Nghrist Iesu, ynghyd � gogoniant tragwyddol.

¹⁰Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

¹¹ Dyma air i'w gredu: "Os buom farw gydag ef, byddwn fyw hefyd gydag ef;

¹¹It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:

¹² os dyfalbarhawn, cawn deyrnasu hefyd gydag ef; os gwadwn ef, bydd ef hefyd yn ein gwadu ninnau;

¹²If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

¹³ os ydym yn anffyddlon, y mae ef yn aros yn ffyddlon, oherwydd ni all ef ei wadu ei hun."

¹³If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

¹⁴ Dwg ar gof i bobl y pethau hyn, gan eu rhybuddio yng ngu373?ydd Duw i beidio � dadlau am eiriau, peth cwbl anfuddiol, ac andwyol hefyd i'r rhai sy'n gwrando.

¹⁴Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

¹⁵ Gwna dy orau i'th wneud dy hun yn gymeradwy gan Dduw, fel gweithiwr heb achos i gywilyddio am ei waith, yn ddiwyro wrth gyflwyno gair y gwirionedd.

¹⁵Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

¹⁶ Gochel siarad gwag rhai bydol, oherwydd agor y ffordd y byddant i fwy o annuwioldeb,

¹⁶But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

¹⁷ a'u hymadrodd yn ymledu fel cancr. Pobl felly yw Hymenaeus a Philetus;

¹⁷And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

¹⁸ y maent wedi gwyro oddi wrth y gwirionedd, gan honni bod ein hatgyfodiad eisoes wedi digwydd, ac y maent yn tanseilio ffydd rhai pobl.

¹⁸Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

¹⁹ Ond dal i sefyll y mae'r sylfaen gadarn a osododd Duw, a'r s�l sydd arni yw: "Y mae'r Arglwydd yn adnabod y rhai sy'n eiddo iddo", a "Pob un sy'n enwi enw'r Arglwydd, cefned ar ddrygioni".

¹⁹Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

²⁰ Mewn tu375? mawr y mae nid yn unig lestri aur ac arian ond hefyd lestri pren a chlai, rhai i gael parch ac eraill amarch.

²⁰But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

²¹ Os yw rhywun yn ei lanhau ei hun oddi wrth y pethau drygionus hyn, yna llestr parch fydd ef, cysegredig, defnyddiol i'r Meistr, ac addas i bob gweithred dda.

²¹If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

²² Ffo oddi wrth nwydau ieuenctid, a chanlyn gyfiawnder a ffydd a chariad a heddwch, yng nghwmni'r rhai sy'n galw ar yr Arglwydd � chalon bur.

²²Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

²³ Paid � gwneud dim � chwestiynau ff�l a di-ddysg; fe wyddost mai codi cwerylon a wn�nt.

²³But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

²⁴ Ni ddylai gwas yr Arglwydd fod yn gwerylgar, ond yn dirion tuag at bawb, yn athro da, yn ymarhous,

²⁴And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

²⁵ yn addfwyn wrth ddisgyblu'r rhai sy'n tynnu'n groes. Oherwydd pwy a u373?yr na fydd Duw ryw ddydd yn rhoi iddynt edifeirwch i ddod i ganfod y gwirionedd,

²⁵In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

²⁶ ac na dd�nt i'w pwyll a dianc o fagl y diafol, yr un a'u rhwydodd a'u caethiwo i'w ewyllys?

²⁶And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
