Genesis

31

1 Clywodd Jacob fod meibion Laban yn dweud, "Y mae Jacob wedi cymryd holl eiddo ein tad, ac o'r hyn oedd yn perthyn i'n tad y mae ef wedi ennill yr holl gyfoeth hwn."
1And he heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father's; and of that which was our father's hath he gotten all this glory.
2 A gwelodd Jacob nad oedd agwedd Laban ato fel y bu o'r blaen.
2And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.
3 Yna dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Jacob, "Dos yn l i wlad dy dadau ac at dy dylwyth, a byddaf gyda thi."
3And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.
4 Felly anfonodd Jacob a galw Rachel a Lea i'r maes lle'r oedd ei braidd;
4And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock,
5 a dywedodd wrthynt, "Gwelaf nad yw agwedd eich tad ataf fel y bu o'r blaen, ond bu Duw fy nhad gyda mi.
5And said unto them, I see your father's countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.
6 Gwyddoch fy mod wedi gweithio i'ch tad 'm holl egni;
6And ye know that with all my power I have served your father.
7 ond twyllodd eich tad fi, a newid fy nghyflog ddengwaith; eto ni adawodd Duw iddo fy niweidio.
7And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.
8 Pan ddywedai ef, 'Y brithion fydd dy gyflog', yna yr oedd yr holl braidd yn epilio ar frithion; a phan ddywedai ef, 'Y broc fydd dy gyflog', yna yr oedd yr holl braidd yn epilio ar rai broc.
8If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ring-streaked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ring-streaked.
9 Felly cymerodd Duw anifeiliaid eich tad a'u rhoi i mi.
9Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.
10 Yn nhymor beichiogi'r praidd codais fy ngolwg a gweld mewn breuddwyd fod yr hyrddod oedd yn llamu'r praidd wedi eu marcio'n frith a broc.
10And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were ring-streaked, speckled, and grizzled.
11 Yna dywedodd angel Duw wrthyf yn fy mreuddwyd, 'Jacob.' Atebais innau, 'Dyma fi.'
11And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.
12 Yna dywedodd, 'Cod dy olwg ac edrych; y mae'r holl hyrddod sy'n llamu'r praidd wedi eu marcio'n frith a broc; yr wyf wedi gweld popeth y mae Laban yn ei wneud i ti.
12And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ring-streaked, speckled, and grizzled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.
13 Myfi yw Duw Bethel, lle'r eneiniaist golofn a gwneud adduned i mi. Yn awr cod, dos o'r wlad hon a dychwel i wlad dy enedigaeth.'"
13I am the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.
14 Yna atebodd Rachel a Lea ef, "A oes i ni bellach ran neu etifeddiaeth yn nhu375? ein tad?
14And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father's house?
15 Onid ydym ni'n cael ein cyfrif ganddo yn estroniaid? Oherwydd y mae wedi'n gwerthu, ac wedi gwario'r arian.
15Are we not counted of him strangers? for he hath sold us, and hath quite devoured also our money.
16 Yr holl gyfoeth y mae Duw wedi ei gymryd oddi ar ein tad, ein heiddo ni a'n plant ydyw; yn awr, felly, gwna bopeth a ddywedodd Duw wrthyt."
16For all the riches which God hath taken from our father, that is ours, and our children's: now then, whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do.
17 Yna cododd Jacob a gosod ei blant a'i wragedd ar gamelod;
17Then Jacob rose up, and set his sons and his wives upon camels;
18 a thywysodd ei holl anifeiliaid a'i holl eiddo, a gafodd yn Padan Aram, i fynd i wlad Canaan at ei dad Isaac.
18And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his getting, which he had gotten in Padanaram, for to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.
19 Yr oedd Laban wedi mynd i gneifio'i ddefaid, a lladrataodd Rachel ddelwau'r teulu oedd yn perthyn i'w thad.
19And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that were her father's.
20 Felly bu i Jacob dwyllo Laban yr Aramead trwy ffoi heb ddweud wrtho.
20And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.
21 Ffodd gyda'i holl eiddo, a chroesi'r Ewffrates, a mynd i gyfeiriad mynydd-dir Gilead.
21So he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the river, and set his face toward the mount Gilead.
22 Ymhen tridiau rhoed gwybod i Laban fod Jacob wedi ffoi.
22And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled.
23 Cymerodd yntau ei berthnasau gydag ef, a'i ymlid am saith diwrnod a'i ganlyn hyd fynydd-dir Gilead.
23And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days' journey; and they overtook him in the mount Gilead.
24 Ond daeth Duw at Laban yr Aramead mewn breuddwyd nos, a dweud wrtho, "Gofala na ddywedi air wrth Jacob, na da na drwg."
24And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
25 Pan oddiweddodd Laban Jacob, yr oedd Jacob wedi lledu ei babell yn y mynydd-dir; ac felly, gwersyllodd Laban gyda'i frodyr ym mynydd-dir Gilead.
25Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead.
26 A dywedodd Laban wrth Jacob, "Beth yw hyn yr wyt wedi ei wneud? Yr wyt wedi fy nhwyllo, a dwyn ymaith fy merched fel caethion rhyfel.
26And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword?
27 Pam y ffoaist yn ddirgel a'm twyllo? Pam na roist wybod i mi, er mwyn imi gael dy hebrwng yn llawen chaniadau a thympan a thelyn?
27Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?
28 Ni adewaist imi gusanu fy meibion a'm merched; yr wyt wedi gwneud peth ffl.
28And hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? thou hast now done foolishly in so doing.
29 Gallwn wneud niwed i chwi, ond llefarodd Duw dy dad wrthyf neithiwr, a dweud, 'Gofala na ddywedi air wrth Jacob, na da na drwg.'
29It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
30 Diau mai am iti hiraethu am du375? dy dad yr aethost ymaith, ond pam y lladrateaist fy nuwiau?"
30And now, though thou wouldest needs be gone, because thou sore longedst after thy father's house, yet wherefore hast thou stolen my gods?
31 Yna atebodd Jacob Laban, "Ffoais am fod arnaf ofn, gan imi feddwl y byddit yn dwyn dy ferched oddi arnaf trwy drais.
31And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid: for I said, Peradventure thou wouldest take by force thy daughters from me.
32 Ond y sawl sy'n cadw dy dduwiau, na chaffed fyw! Yng ngu373?ydd ein brodyr myn wybod beth o'th eiddo sydd gyda mi, a chymer ef." Ni wyddai Jacob mai Rachel oedd wedi eu lladrata.
32With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.
33 Felly aeth Laban i mewn i babell Jacob, ac i babell Lea, ac i babell y ddwy forwyn, ond heb gael y duwiau. Daeth allan o babell Lea a mynd i mewn i babell Rachel.
33And Laban went into Jacob's tent, and into Leah's tent, and into the two maidservants' tents; but he found them not. Then went he out of Leah's tent, and entered into Rachel's tent.
34 Yr oedd Rachel wedi cymryd delwau'r teulu a'u gosod yng nghyfrwy'r camel, ac yr oedd yn eistedd arnynt. Chwiliodd Laban trwy'r babell heb eu cael.
34Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel's furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not.
35 A dywedodd Rachel wrth ei thad, "Peidied f'arglwydd digio am na fedraf godi o'th flaen, oherwydd y mae arfer gwragedd arnaf." Er iddo chwilio, ni chafodd hyd i ddelwau'r teulu.
35And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched but found not the images.
36 Yna digiodd Jacob ac edliw i Laban, a dweud wrtho, "Beth yw fy nhrosedd? Beth yw fy mhechod, dy fod wedi fy erlid?
36And Jacob was wroth, and chode with Laban: and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?
37 Er iti chwilio fy holl eiddo, beth a gefaist sy'n perthyn i ti? Gosod ef yma yng ngu373?ydd fy mrodyr i a'th frodyr dithau, er mwyn iddynt farnu rhyngom ein dau.
37Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us both.
38 Yr wyf bellach wedi bod ugain mlynedd gyda thi; nid yw dy ddefaid na'th eifr wedi erthylu, ac nid wyf wedi bwyta hyrddod dy braidd.
38This twenty years have I been with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have not cast their young, and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten.
39 Pan fyddai anifail wedi ei ysglyfaethu, ni ddygais mohono erioed atat ti, ond derbyniais y golled fy hun; o'm llaw i y gofynnaist iawn am ladrad, prun ai yn y dydd neu yn y nos.
39That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by night.
40 Dyma sut yr oeddwn i: yr oedd gwres y dydd ac oerni'r nos yn fy llethu, a chiliodd fy nghwsg oddi wrthyf;
40Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.
41 bm am ugain mlynedd yn dy du375?; gweithiais iti am bedair blynedd ar ddeg am dy ddwy ferch, ac am chwe blynedd am dy braidd, a newidiaist fy nghyflog ddengwaith.
41Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.
42 Oni bai fod Duw fy nhad, Duw Abraham ac Arswyd Isaac o'm plaid, diau y buasit wedi fy ngyrru i ffwrdd yn waglaw. Gwelodd Duw fy nghystudd a llafur fy nwylo, a neithiwr ceryddodd di."
42Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labor of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.
43 Atebodd Laban a dweud wrth Jacob, "Fy merched i yw'r merched, a'm plant i yw'r plant, a'm praidd i yw'r praidd, ac y mae'r cwbl a weli yn eiddo i mi. Ond beth a wnaf heddiw ynghylch fy merched hyn, a'r plant a anwyd iddynt?
43And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and these cattle are my cattle, and all that thou seest is mine: and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their children which they have born?
44 Tyrd, gwnawn gyfamod, ti a minnau; a bydd yn dystiolaeth rhyngom."
44Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.
45 Felly cymerodd Jacob garreg a'i gosod i fyny'n golofn.
45And Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar.
46 Ac meddai Jacob wrth ei berthnasau, "Casglwch gerrig," a chymerasant gerrig a'u gwneud yn garnedd; a bwytasant yno wrth y garnedd.
46And Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones, and made an heap: and they did eat there upon the heap.
47 Enwodd Laban hi Jegar-sahadwtha, ond galwodd Jacob hi Galeed.
47And Laban called it Jegarsahadutha: but Jacob called it Galeed.
48 Dywedodd Laban, "Y mae'r garnedd hon yn dystiolaeth rhyngom heddiw." Am hynny, enwodd hi Galeed,
48And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;
49 a hefyd Mispa, oherwydd dywedodd, "Gwylied yr ARGLWYDD rhyngom, pan fyddwn o olwg ein gilydd.
49And Mizpah; for he said, The LORD watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.
50 Os bydd iti gam-drin fy merched, neu gymryd gwragedd heblaw fy merched, heb i neb ohonom ni wybod, y mae Duw yn dyst rhyngom."
50If thou shalt afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take other wives beside my daughters, no man is with us; see, God is witness betwixt me and thee.
51 A dywedodd Laban wrth Jacob, "Dyma'r garnedd hon a'r golofn yr wyf wedi ei gosod rhyngom.
51And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and thee:
52 Y mae'r garnedd hon yn dystiolaeth, ac y mae'r golofn hon yn dystiolaeth, na ddof heibio'r garnedd hon atat ti, ac na ddoi dithau heibio'r garnedd hon a'r golofn hon ataf fi, i wneud niwed.
52This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm.
53 Boed i Dduw Abraham a Duw Nachor, Duw eu tadau, farnu rhyngom." A thyngodd Jacob lw i Arswyd Isaac, ei dad,
53The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac.
54 ac offrymodd Jacob aberth ar y mynydd, a galw ar ei berthnasau i fwyta bara; a bwytasant fara ac aros dros nos ar y mynydd.
54Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all night in the mount.
55 Cododd Laban yn gynnar drannoeth a chusanodd ei blant a'i ferched a'u bendithio; yna aeth ymaith a dychwelyd i'w fro ei hun.
55And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed, and returned unto his place.
