¹ Wedi i'r holl genedl orffen croesi'r Iorddonen, dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Josua,

¹And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Jordan, that the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,

² "Dewiswch ddeuddeg dyn o blith y bobl, un o bob llwyth.

²Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,

³ Gorchmynnwch iddynt godi deuddeg maen o ganol yr Iorddonen, o'r union fan y saif traed yr offeiriaid arno, a'u cymryd drosodd gyda hwy, a'u gosod yn y lle y byddant yn gwersyllu heno."

³And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.

⁴ Galwodd Josua y deuddeg dyn a ddewisodd o blith yr Israeliaid, un o bob llwyth,

⁴Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man:

⁵ a dywedodd wrthynt, "Ewch drosodd o flaen arch yr ARGLWYDD eich Duw at ganol yr Iorddonen, a choded pob un ei faen ar ei ysgwydd, yn �l nifer llwythau'r Israeliaid,

⁵And Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan, and take you up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel:

⁶ i fod yn arwydd yn eich mysg. Pan fydd eich plant yn gofyn yn y dyfodol, 'Beth yw ystyr y meini hyn i chwi?'

⁶That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?

⁷ yna byddwch yn dweud wrthynt fel y bu i ddyfroedd yr Iorddonen gael eu hatal o flaen arch cyfamod yr ARGLWYDD; pan aeth hi drosodd, ataliwyd y dyfroedd. Felly bydd y meini hyn yn gofeb i'r Israeliaid hyd byth."

⁷Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.

⁸ Gwnaeth yr Israeliaid fel y gorchmynnodd Josua, a chodi deuddeg maen o wely'r Iorddonen, yn �l nifer llwythau'r Israeliaid, fel yr oedd yr ARGLWYDD wedi dweud wrth Josua, a'u cludo drosodd gyda hwy i'r man lle'r oeddent yn gwersyllu, a'u gosod yno.

⁸And the children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of Jordan, as the LORD spake unto Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.

⁹ Hefyd gosododd Josua ddeuddeg maen yng nghanol yr Iorddonen, lle safodd yr offeiriaid oedd yn cludo arch y cyfamod, ac yno y maent hyd heddiw.

⁹And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.

¹⁰ Bu'r offeiriaid oedd yn cludo'r arch yn sefyll yng nghanol yr Iorddonen nes cwblhau popeth y gorchmynnodd yr ARGLWYDD i Josua ei ddweud wrth y bobl, y cyfan yr oedd Moses wedi ei orchymyn i Josua. Yr oedd y bobl yn brysio i groesi,

¹⁰For the priests which bare the ark stood in the midst of Jordan, until everything was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua: and the people hasted and passed over.

¹¹ ac wedi iddynt oll orffen, fe groesodd arch yr ARGLWYDD a'r offeiriaid yng ngu373?ydd y bobl.

¹¹And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over, that the ark of the LORD passed over, and the priests, in the presence of the people.

¹² Hefyd fe groesodd gwu375?r Reuben a Gad a hanner llwyth Manasse yn arfog o flaen yr Israeliaid, fel yr oedd Moses wedi dweud wrthynt.

¹²And the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh, passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses spake unto them:

¹³ Croesodd tua deugain mil o filwyr profiadol gerbron yr ARGLWYDD i'r frwydr yn rhosydd Jericho.

¹³About forty thousand prepared for war passed over before the LORD unto battle, to the plains of Jericho.

¹⁴ Dyrchafodd yr ARGLWYDD Josua y diwrnod hwnnw yng ngolwg Israel gyfan, a daethant i'w barchu ef, fel yr oeddent wedi parchu Moses holl ddyddiau ei einioes.

¹⁴On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

¹⁵ Wedi i'r ARGLWYDD ddweud wrth Josua

¹⁵And the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,

¹⁶ am orchymyn i'r offeiriaid oedd yn cludo arch y dystiolaeth esgyn o'r Iorddonen,

¹⁶Command the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of Jordan.

¹⁷ gorchmynnodd Josua iddynt, "Dewch i fyny o'r Iorddonen."

¹⁷Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come ye up out of Jordan.

¹⁸ Ac fel yr oedd yr offeiriaid oedd yn cludo arch cyfamod yr ARGLWYDD yn esgyn o ganol yr Iorddonen, a gwadnau eu traed yn cyffwrdd tir sych, dychwelodd dyfroedd yr Iorddonen i'w lle, a llifo'n llawn at ei glannau megis cynt.

¹⁸And it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD were come up out of the midst of Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of Jordan returned unto their place, and flowed over all his banks, as they did before.

¹⁹ Ar y degfed dydd o'r mis cyntaf y daeth y bobl i fyny o'r Iorddonen a gwersyllu yn Gilgal, ar gwr dwyreiniol Jericho.

¹⁹And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.

²⁰ Gosododd Josua y deuddeg maen a gymerwyd o wely'r Iorddonen yn Gilgal,

²⁰And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal.

²¹ a dweud wrth yr Israeliaid, "Pan fydd eich plant yn gofyn i'w rhieni yn y dyfodol, 'Beth yw ystyr y meini hyn?'

²¹And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones?

²² dywedwch wrthynt i Israel groesi'r Iorddonen ar dir sych;

²²Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.

²³ oherwydd sychodd yr ARGLWYDD eich Duw ddu373?r yr Iorddonen o'ch blaen nes ichwi groesi, fel y gwnaeth gyda'r M�r Coch, pan sychodd hwnnw o'n blaen nes inni ei groesi.

²³For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:

²⁴ Digwyddodd hyn er mwyn i holl bobloedd y ddaear wybod mor gryf yw yr ARGLWYDD, ac er mwyn ichwi ofni'r ARGLWYDD eich Duw bob amser."

²⁴That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.
