¹ Gweledigaeth Obadeia. Fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW am Edom (clywsom genadwri gan yr ARGLWYDD; anfonwyd cennad i blith y cenhedloedd: "Codwch! Gadewch inni fynd i frwydr yn eu herbyn"):

¹The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.

² "Wele, gwnaf di'n fychan ymysg y cenhedloedd, ac fe'th lwyr ddirmygir.

²Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised.

³ Twyllwyd di gan dy galon falch, ti sy'n byw yn agennau'r graig, a'th drigfan yn uchel; dywedi yn dy galon, 'Pwy a'm tyn i'r llawr?'

³The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

⁴ Er iti esgyn cyn uched �'r eryr, a gosod dy nyth ymysg y s�r, fe'th hyrddiaf i lawr oddi yno," medd yr ARGLWYDD.

⁴Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.

⁵ "Pe d�i lladron atat, neu ysbeilwyr liw nos (O fel y'th ddinistriwyd!), onid digon iddynt eu hunain yn unig a ysbeilient? Pe d�i cynaeafwyr grawnwin atat, oni adawent loffion?

⁵If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave some grapes?

⁶ O fel yr anrheithiwyd Esau, ac yr ysbeiliwyd ei drysorau!

⁶How are the things of Esau searched out! how are his hidden things sought up!

⁷ Y mae dy holl gynghreiriaid wedi dy dwyllo, y maent wedi dy yrru dros y terfyn; y mae dy gyfeillion wedi dy drechu, dy wahoddedigion wedi gosod magl i ti � nid oes deall ar hyn.

⁷All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee even to the border: the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee; that they eat thy bread have laid a wound under thee: there is none understanding in him.

⁸ Ar y dydd hwnnw," medd yr ARGLWYDD, "oni ddileaf ddoethineb o Edom, a deall o fynydd Esau?

⁸Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?

⁹ Y mae dy gedyrn mewn braw, O Teman, fel y torrir ymaith bob un o fynydd Esau.

⁹And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.

¹⁰ Am y lladdfa, ac am y trais yn erbyn dy frawd Jacob, fe'th orchuddir gan warth, ac fe'th dorrir ymaith am byth.

¹⁰For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.

¹¹ "Ar y dydd y sefaist draw, ar y dydd y dygodd estroniaid ei gyfoeth, ac y daeth dieithriaid trwy ei byrth a bwrw coelbren am Jerwsalem, yr oeddit tithau fel un ohonynt.

¹¹In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.

¹² Ni ddylit ymfalch�o ar ddydd dy frawd, dydd ei drallod. Ni ddylit lawenhau dros blant Jwda ar ddydd eu dinistr; ni ddylit wneud sbort ar ddydd gofid.

¹²But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.

¹³ Ni ddylit fynd i borth fy mhobl ar ddydd eu hadfyd; ni ddylit ymfalch�o yn eu dinistr ar ddydd eu hadfyd; ni ddylit ymestyn am eu heiddo ar ddydd eu hadfyd.

¹³Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity;

¹⁴ Ni ddylit sefyll ar y groesffordd i ddifa eu ffoaduriaid; ni ddylit drosglwyddo'r rhai a ddihangodd ar ddydd gofid.

¹⁴Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.

¹⁵ "Y mae dydd yr ARGLWYDD yn agos; daw ar yr holl genhedloedd. Fel y gwnaethost ti y gwneir i ti; fe ddychwel dy weithredoedd ar dy ben dy hun.

¹⁵For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

¹⁶ Fel yr yfaist ar fy mynydd sanctaidd, fe yf yr holl genhedloedd yn ddi-baid; yfant a llowciant, a mynd yn anymwybodol.

¹⁶For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.

¹⁷ "Ond ym Mynydd Seion bydd rhai dihangol a fydd yn sanctaidd; meddianna tu375? Jacob ei eiddo'i hun.

¹⁷But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.

¹⁸ A bydd tu375? Jacob yn d�n, tu375? Joseff yn fflam, a thu375? Esau yn gynnud; fe'i cyneuant a'i losgi, ac ni fydd gweddill o du375? Esau, oherwydd llefarodd yr ARGLWYDD.

¹⁸And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.

¹⁹ Bydd y Negef yn meddiannu mynydd Esau, a'r Seffela yn meddiannu gwlad y Philistiaid; byddant yn meddiannu tir Effraim a thir Samaria, a bydd Benjamin yn meddiannu Gilead.

¹⁹And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.

²⁰ Bydd pobl Israel, caethgludion y fyddin, yn meddiannu Canaan hyd Sareffath; a chaethgludion Jerwsalem yn Seffarad yn meddiannu dinasoedd y Negef.

²⁰And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.

²¹ Bydd gwaredwyr yn mynd i fyny i Fynydd Seion, i reoli mynydd Esau; a bydd y frenhiniaeth yn eiddo i'r ARGLWYDD."

²¹And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD's.
