Romans

1

1 Paul, gwas Crist Iesu, sy'n ysgrifennu, apostol trwy alwad Duw, ac wedi ei neilltuo i wasanaeth Efengyl Duw.
1Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
2 Addawodd Duw yr Efengyl hon ymlaen llaw trwy ei broffwydi yn yr Ysgrythurau sanctaidd,
2(Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
3 Efengyl am ei Fab: yn nhrefn y cnawd, ganwyd ef yn llinach Dafydd;
3Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
4 ond yn nhrefn sanctaidd yr Ysbryd, cyhoeddwyd ef yn Fab Duw, mawr allu, trwy atgyfodiad o farwolaeth. Dyma Iesu Grist ein Harglwydd.
4And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
5 Trwyddo ef derbyniasom ras a swydd apostol, i ennill, ar ei ran, ffydd ac ufudd-dod ymhlith yr holl Genhedloedd.
5By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
6 Ymhlith y rhain yr ydych chwithau, yn rhai wedi eich galw ac yn eiddo i Iesu Grist.
6Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:
7 Yr wyf yn cyfarch pawb yn Rhufain sydd yn annwyl gan Dduw, a thrwy ei alwad ef yn saint. Gras a thangnefedd i chwi oddi wrth Dduw ein Tad a'r Arglwydd Iesu Grist.
7To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
8 Yn gyntaf oll, yr wyf yn diolch i'm Duw, trwy Iesu Grist, amdanoch chwi oll, oherwydd y mae'r sn am eich ffydd yn cerdded trwy'r holl fyd.
8First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
9 Y mae Duw, yr un y mae fy ysbryd yn ei wasanaethu yn Efengyl ei Fab, yn dyst i mi mor ddi-baid y byddaf bob amser yn eich galw i gof yn fy ngweddau
9For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
10 wrth ofyn ganddo, os dyna'i ewyllys, a gaf fi yn awr o'r diwedd, rywsut neu'i gilydd, rwydd hynt i ddod atoch.
10Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
11 Oherwydd y mae hiraeth arnaf am eich gweld, er mwyn eich cynys-gaeddu  rhyw ddawn ysbrydol i'ch cadarnhau;
11For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
12 neu yn hytrach, os caf esbonio, i mi, yn eich cymdeithas, gael fy nghalonogi ynghyd chwi trwy'r ffydd sy'n gyffredin i'r naill a'r llall ohonom.
12That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
13 Yr wyf am i chwi wybod, fy nghyfeillion, imi fwriadu lawer gwaith ddod atoch, er mwyn cael peth ffrwyth yn eich plith chwi fel y cefais ymhlith y rhelyw o'r Cenhedloedd, ond hyd yma yr wyf wedi fy rhwystro.
13Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
14 Groegiaid a barbariaid, doethion ac annoethion yr wyf dan rwymedigaeth iddynt oll.
14I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.
15 A dyma'r rheswm fy mod i mor eiddgar i bregethu'r Efengyl i chwithau sydd yn Rhufain.
15So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
16 Nid oes arnaf gywilydd o'r Efengyl, oherwydd gallu Duw yw hi ar waith er iachawdwriaeth i bob un sy'n credu, yr Iddewon yn gyntaf a hefyd y Groegiaid.
16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 Ynddi hi y datguddir cyfiawnder Duw, a hynny trwy ffydd o'r dechrau i'r diwedd, fel y mae'n ysgrifenedig: "Y sawl sydd trwy ffydd yn gyfiawn a gaiff fyw."
17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 Y mae digofaint Duw yn cael ei ddatguddio o'r nef yn erbyn holl annuwioldeb ac anghyfiawnder pobl sydd, trwy eu hanghyfiawnder, yn atal y gwirionedd.
18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Oherwydd y mae'r hyn y gellir ei wybod am Dduw yn amlwg iddynt, a Duw sydd wedi ei amlygu iddynt.
19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 Yn wir, er pan greodd Duw y byd, y mae ei briodoleddau anweledig ef, ei dragwyddol allu a'i dduwdod, i'w gweld yn eglur gan y deall yn y pethau a greodd. Am hynny, y maent yn ddiesgus.
20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Oherwydd, er iddynt wybod am Dduw, nid ydynt wedi rhoi gogoniant na diolch iddo fel Duw, ond yn hytrach wedi troi eu meddyliau at bethau cwbl ofer; ac y mae wedi mynd yn dywyllwch arnynt yn eu calon ddiddeall.
21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Er honni eu bod yn ddoeth, y maent wedi eu gwneud eu hunain yn ffyliaid.
22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 Y maent wedi ffeirio gogoniant yr anfarwol Dduw am ddelw ar lun dyn marwol, neu adar neu anifeiliaid neu ymlusgiaid.
23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Am hynny, y mae Duw wedi eu traddodi, trwy chwantau eu calonnau, i gaethiwed aflendid, i'w cyrff gael eu hamharchu ganddynt hwy eu hunain.
24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Y maent wedi ffeirio gwirionedd Duw am anwiredd, ac addoli a gwasanaethu'r hyn a grewyd yn lle'r Creawdwr. Bendigedig yw ef am byth! Amen.
25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 Felly y mae Duw wedi eu traddodi i nwydau gwarthus. Y mae eu merched wedi cefnu ar arfer naturiol eu rhyw, ac wedi troi at arferion annaturiol;
26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 a'r dynion yr un modd, y maent wedi gadael heibio gyfathrach naturiol merch, gan losgi yn eu blys am ei gilydd, dynion yn cyflawni bryntni ar ddynion, ac yn derbyn ynddynt eu hunain y tl anochel am eu camwedd.
27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 Am iddynt wrthod cydnabod Duw, y mae Duw wedi eu traddodi i feddwl gwyrdrodig, i wneud y pethau na ddylid eu gwneud,
28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 a hwythau yn gyforiog o bob math o anghyfiawnder a drygioni a thrachwant ac anfadwaith. Y maent yn llawn cenfigen, llofruddiaeth, cynnen, cynllwyn a malais.
29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Clepgwn ydynt, a difenwyr, caseion Duw, pobl ryfygus a thrahaus ac ymffrostgar, dyfeiswyr drygioni, anufudd i'w rhieni,
30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 heb ddeall, heb deyrngarwch, heb serch, heb dosturi.
31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Yr oedd gorchymyn cyfiawn Duw, fod y sawl sy'n cyflawni'r fath droseddau yn teilyngu marwolaeth, yn gwbl hysbys i'r rhai hyn; ond y maent nid yn unig yn dal i'w gwneud, ond hefyd yn cymeradwyo'r sawl sydd yn eu cyflawni.
32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
