¹ Yr wyf yn gofyn, felly, a yw'n bosibl fod Duw wedi gwrthod ei bobl ei hun? Nac ydyw, ddim o gwbl! Oherwydd yr wyf fi yn Israeliad, o linach Abraham, o lwyth Benjamin.

¹I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

² Nid yw Duw wedi gwrthod ei bobl, y bobl a adnabu cyn eu bod. Gwyddoch beth y mae'r Ysgrythur yn ei ddweud wrth adrodd hanes Elias yn galw ar Dduw yn erbyn Israel:

²God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,

³ "Arglwydd, y maent wedi lladd dy broffwydi a bwrw d'allorau i lawr; myfi'n unig sydd ar �l, ac y maent yn ceisio f'einioes innau."

³Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.

⁴ Ond yr atebiad dwyfol iddo oedd: "Gadewais i mi fy hun saith mil o bobl sydd heb blygu glin i Baal."

⁴But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

⁵ Felly hefyd yn yr amser presennol hwn, y mae gweddill ar gael, gweddill sydd wedi ei ethol gan ras Duw.

⁵Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

⁶ Ond os trwy ras y bu hyn, ni all fod yn tarddu o gadw gofynion cyfraith; petai felly, byddai gras yn peidio � bod yn ras.

⁶And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

⁷ Mewn gair, y peth y mae Israel yn ei geisio, nid Israel a'i cafodd, ond y rhai a etholodd Duw; caledwyd y lleill,

⁷What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

⁸ fel y mae'n ysgrifenedig: "Rhoddodd Duw iddynt ysbryd swrth, llygaid i beidio � gweld, a chlustiau i beidio � chlywed, hyd y dydd heddiw."

⁸(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

⁹ Ac y mae Dafydd yn dweud: "Bydded eu bwrdd yn fagl i'w rhwydo, ac yn groglath i'w cosbi;

⁹And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:

¹⁰ tywyller eu llygaid iddynt beidio � gweld, a gwna hwy'n wargrwm dros byth."

¹⁰Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.

¹¹ Yr wyf yn gofyn, felly, a yw eu llithriad yn gwymp terfynol? Nac ydyw, ddim o gwbl! I'r gwrthwyneb, am iddynt hwy droseddu y mae iachawdwriaeth wedi dod i'r Cenhedloedd, i wneud yr Iddewon yn eiddigeddus.

¹¹I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.

¹² Ond os yw eu trosedd yn gyfrwng i gyfoethogi'r byd, a'u diffyg yn gyfrwng i gyfoethogi'r Cenhedloedd, pa faint mwy fydd y cyfoethogi pan dd�nt yn eu cyflawn rif?

¹²Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

¹³ Ond i droi atoch chwi y Cenhedloedd. Yr wyf fi'n apostol y Cenhedloedd, ac fel y cyfryw rhoi bri ar fy swydd yr wyf

¹³For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

¹⁴ wrth geisio gwneud fy mhobl yn eiddigeddus, ac achub rhai ohonynt.

¹⁴If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

¹⁵ Oherwydd os bu eu bwrw hwy allan yn gymod i'r byd, bydd eu derbyn i mewn, yn sicr, yn fywyd o blith y meirw.

¹⁵For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?

¹⁶ Os yw'r tamaid toes a offrymir yn sanctaidd, yna y mae'r toes i gyd yn sanctaidd. Os yw'r gwreiddyn yn sanctaidd, y mae'r canghennau hefyd yn sanctaidd.

¹⁶For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

¹⁷ Os torrwyd rhai canghennau i ffwrdd, a'th impio di yn eu plith, er mai olewydden wyllt oeddit, ac os daethost felly i gael rhan o faeth gwreiddyn yr olewydden,

¹⁷And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

¹⁸ paid ag ymffrostio ar draul y canghennau a dorrwyd. Os wyt am ymffrostio, cofia nad tydi sy'n cynnal y gwreiddyn, ond y gwreiddyn sy'n dy gynnal di.

¹⁸Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

¹⁹ Ond fe ddywedi, "Ie, ond torrwyd y canghennau i ffwrdd er mwyn i mi gael fy impio i mewn."

¹⁹Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.

²⁰ Eithaf gwir; fe'u torrwyd hwy o achos anghrediniaeth, ac fe gefaist ti dy le trwy ffydd. Rho'r gorau i feddyliau mawreddog, a meithrin ofn Duw yn eu lle.

²⁰Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

²¹ Oherwydd os nad arbedodd Duw y canghennau naturiol, nid arbeda dithau chwaith.

²¹For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

²² Am hynny, ystyria'r modd y mae Duw yn dangos ei diriondeb a'i erwinder: ei erwinder i'r rhai a gwympodd i fai, ond ei diriondeb i ti, cyhyd ag y cedwi dy hun o fewn cylch ei diriondeb. Os na wnei, cei dithau dy dorri allan o'r cyff.

²²Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

²³ Ond amdanynt hwy, os na fynnant aros yn eu hanghrediniaeth, c�nt eu himpio i mewn i'r cyff, oherwydd y mae Duw yn abl i'w himpio'n �l.

²³And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.

²⁴ Oherwydd, os cefaist ti dy dorri o olewydden oedd yn wyllt wrth natur, a'th impio i mewn, yn groes i natur, i olewydden gardd, gymaint tebycach yw y c�nt hwy, sydd wrth natur yn ganghennau olewydden gardd, eu himpio i mewn i'w holewydden hwy eu hunain!

²⁴For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?

²⁵ Oherwydd yr wyf am i chwi wybod, gyfeillion, am y dirgelwch hwn (bydd hynny'n eich cadw rhag bod yn ddoeth yn eich tyb eich hunain), fod caledwch rhannol wedi syrthio ar Israel, hyd nes y daw'r Cenhedloedd i mewn yn eu cyflawn rif.

²⁵For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

²⁶ Pan ddigwydd hynny, caiff Israel i gyd ei hachub. Fel y mae'n ysgrifenedig: "Daw'r Gwaredydd o Seion, a throi pob annuwioldeb oddi wrth Jacob;

²⁶And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

²⁷ a dyma'r cyfamod a wnaf fi � hwy, pan gymeraf ymaith eu pechodau."

²⁷For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

²⁸ O safbwynt yr Efengyl, gelynion Duw ydynt, ond y mae hynny'n fantais i chwi. O safbwynt eu hethol gan Dduw, y maent yn annwyl ganddo, ond y maent felly o achos yr hynafiaid.

²⁸As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.

²⁹ Oherwydd nid oes tynnu'n �l ar roddion graslon Duw, a'i alwad ef.

²⁹For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

³⁰ Buoch chwi unwaith yn anufudd i Dduw, ond yn awr, o ganlyniad i'w hanufudd-dod hwy, yr ydych wedi cael trugaredd.

³⁰For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

³¹ Yn yr un modd, o ganlyniad i'r drugaredd a gawsoch chwi, y maent hwy hefyd wedi anufuddhau yn awr, fel mai derbyn trugaredd a wn�nt hwythau.

³¹Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

³² Y mae Duw wedi cloi pawb yng ngharchar anufudd-dod, er mwyn gwneud pawb yn wrthrychau ei drugaredd.

³²For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

³³ O ddyfnder cyfoeth Duw, a'i ddoethineb a'i wybodaeth! Mor anchwiliadwy ei farnedigaethau, mor anolrheiniadwy ei ffyrdd!

³³O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

³⁴ Oherwydd, "Pwy a adnabu feddwl yr Arglwydd? Pwy a fu'n ei gynghori ef?

³⁴For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

³⁵ Pwy a achubodd y blaen arno � rhodd, i gael rhodd yn �l ganddo?"

³⁵Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

³⁶ Oherwydd ohono ef, a thrwyddo ef, ac iddo ef y mae pob peth. Iddo ef y bo'r gogoniant am byth! Amen.

³⁶For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
