Young`s Literal Translation

1 Chronicles

11

1 Daeth holl Israel at Ddafydd i Hebron a dweud wrtho, "Edrych, dy asgwrn a'th gnawd di ydym ni.
1And gathered are all Israel unto David to Hebron, saying, `Lo, thy bone and thy flesh [are] we;
2 Gynt, pan oedd Saul yn frenin, ti oedd yn arwain Israel allan i ryfel ac yn l wedyn; ac fe ddywedodd yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw wrthyt, 'Ti sydd i fugeilio fy mhobl Israel; ti sydd i fod yn dywysog arnynt.'"
2even in time past, even in Saul`s being king, it is thou who art taking out and bringing in Israel, and Jehovah thy God saith to thee: Thou dost feed My people Israel, and thou art leader over My people Israel.`
3 Yna daeth holl henuriaid Israel i Hebron at y brenin, a gwnaeth Dafydd gyfamod hwy yno gerbron yr ARGLWYDD, ac eneiniwyd Dafydd yn frenin ar Israel, yn l gair yr ARGLWYDD trwy Samuel.
3And all the elders of Israel come in unto the king to Hebron, and David maketh with them a covenant in Hebron before Jehovah, and they anoint David for king over Israel, according to the word of Jehovah by the hand of Samuel.
4 Pan aeth Dafydd a holl Israel i Jerwsalem (hynny yw, Jebus, lle'r oedd y Jebusiaid, trigolion y wlad, yn byw)
4And David goeth, and all Israel, to Jerusalem — it [is] Jebus — and there the Jebusite, the inhabitants of the land.
5 dywedodd pobl Jebus wrth Ddafydd, "Ni chei ddod i mewn yma." Er hynny, fe enillodd Dafydd gaer Seion, sef Dinas Dafydd,
5And the inhabitants of Jebus say to David, `Thou dost not come in hither;` and David captureth the fortress of Zion — it [is] the city of David.
6 a dywedodd, "Caiff y cyntaf i daro'r Jebusiaid ei wneud yn ben swyddog." Y cyntaf i fynd i fyny oedd Joab fab Serfia; felly cafodd ei wneud yn ben.
6And David saith, `Whoever smiteth the Jebusite first doth become head and prince;` and go up first doth Joab son of Zeruiah and becometh head.
7 Yna fe ymsefydlodd Dafydd yn y gaer, ac am hynny fe'i gelwir yn Ddinas Dafydd.
7And David dwelleth in the fortress, therefore they have called it, `City of David;`
8 Adeiladodd y ddinas oddi amgylch o'r Milo yn gylch cyfan, tra oedd Joab yn adnewyddu gweddill y ddinas.
8and he buildeth the city round about, from Millo, and unto the circumference, and Joab restoreth the rest of the city.
9 Cynyddodd Dafydd fwyfwy oherwydd bod ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd gydag ef.
9And David goeth, going on and becoming great, and Jehovah of Hosts [is] with him.
10 Dyma benaethiaid Dafydd, a aeth yn fwy a mwy nerthol gydag ef yn ystod ei deyrnasiad, ac a ymunodd gyda holl Israel i'w wneud ef yn frenin ar Israel yn l gair yr ARGLWYDD.
10And these [are] heads of the mighty ones whom David hath, who are strengthening themselves with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to cause him to reign, according to the word of Jehovah, over Israel.
11 Dyma restr y gwroniaid oedd gan Ddafydd. Jasobeam fab Hachmoni oedd capten y Deg ar Hugain; chwifiodd ef ei waywffon mewn buddugoliaeth uwchben tri chant o wu375?r a laddodd ar un tro.
11And this [is] an account of the mighty ones whom David hath: Jashobeam son of a Hachmonite [is] head of the thirty; he is lifting up his spear against three hundred — wounded, at one time.
12 Y nesaf ato ef ymysg y tri gwron oedd Eleasar fab Dodo, yr Ahohiad;
12And after him [is] Eleazar son of Dodo the Ahohite, he [is] among the three mighty;
13 bu ef gyda Dafydd yn Pasdammim, lle'r oedd rhandir yn llawn ffacbys, pan ymgasglodd y Philistiaid yno i ryfel ac y ffodd y bobl rhagddynt.
13he hath been with David in Pas-Dammim, and the Philistines have been gathered there to battle, and a portion of the field is full of barley, and the people have fled from the face of the Philistines,
14 Ond daliodd ef ei dir yng nghanol y llain, a'i amddiffyn a lladd y Philistiaid; a rhoes yr ARGLWYDD waredigaeth fawr.
14and they station themselves in the midst of the portion, and deliver it, and smite the Philistines, and Jehovah saveth — a great salvation.
15 Aeth tri o'r Deg ar Hugain o benaethiaid i lawr at Ddafydd i'r graig ger ogof Adulam, pan oedd mintai o Philistiaid yn gwersyllu yn nyffryn Reffaim.
15And three of the thirty heads go down on the rock unto David, unto the cave of Adullam, and the host of the Philistines is encamping in the valley of Rephaim,
16 Yr oedd Dafydd ar y pryd yn y gaer, a garsiwn y Philistiaid ym Methlehem.
16and David [is] then in the fortress, and the station of the Philistines [is] then in Beth-Lehem,
17 Cododd blys ar Ddafydd ac meddai, "O na chawn ddiod o ddu373?r o bydew Bethlehem, sydd ger y porth!"
17and David longeth, and saith, `Who doth give me to drink water from the well of Beth-Lehem, that [is] at the gate!`
18 Ar hynny, rhuthrodd y tri trwy wersyll y Philistiaid, codi du373?r o bydew Bethlehem gerllaw'r porth, a'i gludo'n l at Ddafydd. Eto, ni fynnai ef ei yfed, a thywalltodd ef yn offrwm i'r ARGLWYDD,
18And the three break through the camp of the Philistines, and draw water from the well of Beth-Lehem, that [is] at the gate, and bear and bring in unto David, and David hath not been willing to drink it, and poureth it out to Jehovah,
19 a dweud, "Na ato Duw i mi wneud hyn! A allaf fi yfed gwaed y gwu375?r hyn a fentrodd eu heinioes i ddod ag ef i mi?" Felly gwrthododd ei yfed. Dyma wrhydri y tri gwron.
19and saith, `Far be it from me, by my God, to do this; the blood of these men do I drink with their lives? for with their lives they have brought it;` and he was not willing to drink it; these [things] did the three mighty ones.
20 Abisai brawd Joab fab Serfia oedd pennaeth y Deg ar Hugain. Chwifiodd ef ei waywffon mewn buddugoliaeth uwchben trichant o wu375?r, a lladdodd hwy gan ennill enw iddo'i hun ymhlith y Deg ar Hugain.
20And Abishai brother of Joab, he hath been head of the three: and he is lifting up his spear against three hundred — wounded, and hath a name among three.
21 Yr oedd ef yn enwog ymhlith y Deg ar Hugain, ac yn gapten arnynt; ond nid oedd i'w gymharu 'r Tri.
21Of the three by the two he is honoured, and becometh their head; and unto the [first] three he hath not come.
22 Yr oedd Benaia fab Jehoiada o Cabseel yn u373?r dewr ac aml ei orchestion. Ef a laddodd ddau bencampwr o Moab; ef hefyd a aeth i lawr i bydew a lladd llew yno ar ddiwrnod o eira.
22Benaiah son of Jehoiada, son of a man of valour, of great deeds, from Kabzeel: he hath smitten the two lion-like Moabites, and he hath gone down and smitten the lion in the midst of the pit, in the day of snow.
23 Lladdodd Eifftiwr, cawr o bum cufydd, er bod gan hwnnw waywffon fel carfan gwehydd yn ei law, ac yntau'n ymosod dim ond ffon. Cipiodd y waywffon o law'r Eifftiwr, a'i ladd 'i waywffon ei hun.
23And he hath smitten the man, the Egyptian — a man of measure, five by the cubit — and in the hand of the Egyptian [is] a spear like a beam of weavers, and he goeth down unto him with a rod, and taketh violently away the spear out of the hand of the Egyptian, and slayeth him with his own spear.
24 Dyma wrhydri Benaia fab Jehoiada, ac enillodd enw iddo'i hun ymhlith y Deg Gwron ar Hugain.
24These [things] hath Benaiah son of Jehoiada done, and hath a name among the three mighty ones.
25 Yr oedd yn enwog ymhlith y Deg ar Hugain, ond nid oedd i'w gymharu 'r Tri. Apwyntiodd Dafydd ef yn bennaeth ei warchodlu.
25Of the thirty, lo, he [is] honoured, and unto the [first] three he hath not come, and David setteth him over his guard.
26 Y rhain oedd y gwroniaid: Asahel brawd Joab, Elhanan fab Dodo o Fethlehem,
