1 Tra oedd Jeroboam yn sefyll wrth yr allor i offrymu, daeth gu373?r Duw o Jwda i Fethel yn l gair yr ARGLWYDD.
1And lo, a man of God hath come from Judah, by the word of Jehovah, unto Beth-El, and Jeroboam is standing by the altar — to make perfume;
2 A chyhoeddodd yn erbyn yr allor drwy air yr ARGLWYDD: "Allor, allor, fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: 'Wele, fe enir mab i linach Dafydd o'r enw Joseia; bydd ef yn aberthu arnat offeiriaid yr uchelfeydd sy'n offrymu arnat, a llosgir arnat esgyrn dynol.'"
2and he calleth against the altar, by the word of Jehovah, and saith, `Altar! altar! thus said Jehovah, Lo, a son is born to the house of David — Josiah his name — and he hath sacrificed on thee the priests of the high places who are making perfume on thee, and bones of man are burnt on thee.`
3 A rhoddodd argoel y dydd hwnnw, a dweud, "Dyma'r argoel a addawodd yr ARGLWYDD: bydd yr allor yn ddrylliau, a chwelir y lludw sydd arni."
3And he hath given on that day a sign, saying, `This [is] the sign that Jehovah hath spoken, Lo, the altar is rent, and the ashes poured forth that [are] on it.`
4 Pan glywodd y Brenin Jeroboam y gair a gyhoeddodd gu373?r Duw yn erbyn yr allor ym Methel, estynnodd ei law dros yr allor a dweud, "Cydiwch ynddo!" Ond gwywodd y llaw a estynnodd ato, ac ni fedrai ei thynnu'n l.
4And it cometh to pass, at the king`s hearing the word of the man of God that he calleth against the altar in Beth-El, that Jeroboam putteth forth his hand from off the altar, saying, `Catch him;` and his hand is dried up that he hath put forth against him, and he is not able to bring it back unto him,
5 Yna drylliwyd yr allor a chwalwyd y lludw o'r allor, yn unol 'r argoel a roddodd gu373?r Duw drwy air yr ARGLWYDD.
5and the altar is rent, and the ashes poured forth from the altar, according to the sign that the man of God had given by the word of Jehovah.
6 Yna dywedodd y brenin wrth u373?r Duw, "Ymbil 'r ARGLWYDD dy Dduw a gwedda ar fy rhan fel y caiff fy llaw ei hadfer." Ymbiliodd gu373?r Duw ar yr ARGLWYDD, ac adferwyd llaw'r brenin iddo fel yr oedd cynt.
6And the king answereth and saith unto the man of God, `Appease, I pray thee, the face of Jehovah thy God, and pray for me, and my hand doth come back unto me;` and the man of God appeaseth the face of Jehovah, and the hand of the king cometh back unto him, and it is as at the beginning.
7 A dywedodd y brenin wrth u373?r Duw, "Tyrd adref gyda mi am damaid, imi roi rhodd iti."
7And the king speaketh unto the man of God, `Come in with me to the house, and refresh thyself, and I give to thee a gift.`
8 Ond dywedodd y proffwyd wrth y brenin, "Petait yn rhoi imi hanner dy du375?, ni ddown gyda thi; nid wyf am fwyta tamaid nac yfed llymaid yn y lle hwn.
8And the man of God saith unto the king, `If thou dost give to me the half of thine house, I do not go in with thee, nor do I eat bread, nor do I drink water, in this place;
9 Fel hyn y gorchmynnwyd imi drwy air yr ARGLWYDD, i beidio bwyta nac yfed dim, na dychwelyd y ffordd y deuthum."
9for so He commanded me by the word of Jehovah, saying, Thou dost not eat bread nor drink water, nor turn back in the way that thou hast come.`
10 Ac aeth ffordd arall, heb ddychwelyd ar y ffordd y daeth i Fethel.
10And he goeth on in another way, and hath not turned back in the way in which he came in unto Beth-El.
11 Yr oedd proffwyd oedrannus yn byw ym Methel, a daeth ei feibion a dweud wrtho am y cwbl a wnaeth gu373?r Duw y dydd hwnnw ym Methel, ac adrodd wrth eu tad yr hyn a ddywedodd wrth y brenin.
11And a certain aged prophet is dwelling in Beth-El, and his son cometh and recounteth to him all the deed that the man of God hath done to-day in Beth-El, the words that he hath spoken unto the king, — yea, they recount them to their father.
12 Holodd eu tad hwy, "Pa ffordd yr aeth?" A dangosodd ei feibion y ffordd yr aeth gu373?r Duw oedd wedi dod o Jwda.
12And their father saith unto them, `Where [is] this — the way he hath gone?` and his sons see the way that the man of God hath gone who came from Judah.
13 Dywedodd yntau wrth ei feibion, "Cyfrwywch asyn imi." Ac wedi iddynt gyfrwyo'r asyn, marchogodd arno
13And he saith unto his sons, `Saddle for me the ass,` and they saddle for him the ass, and he rideth on it,
14 a mynd ar l gu373?r Duw, a'i gael yn eistedd tan dderwen. Gofynnodd iddo, "Ai ti yw'r gu373?r Duw a ddaeth o Jwda?" Ac atebodd yntau, "Ie."
14and goeth after the man of God, and findeth him sitting under the oak, and saith unto him, `Art thou the man of God who hast come from Judah?` and he saith, `I [am].`
15 Yna dywedodd y proffwyd oedrannus, "Tyrd adref gyda mi am bryd o fwyd."
15And he saith unto him, `Come with me to the house, and eat bread.`
16 Atebodd y llall, "Ni fedraf ddychwelyd gyda thi, na bwyta nac yfed dim gyda thi yn y lle hwn.
16And he saith, `I am not able to turn back with thee, and to go in with thee, nor do I eat bread or drink with thee water in this place,
17 Dyma'r neges a gefais drwy air yr ARGLWYDD: 'Paid bwyta bara nac yfed dim yno, na dychwelyd y ffordd yr aethost.'"
17for a word [is] unto me by the word of Jehovah, Thou dost not eat bread nor drink there water, thou dost not turn back to go in the way in which thou camest.`
18 Ond dywedodd y proffwyd oedrannus wrtho, "Yr wyf finnau'n broffwyd fel ti, ac y mae angel wedi dweud wrthyf drwy air yr ARGLWYDD, 'Dos ag ef yn l gyda thi adref i fwyta bara ac yfed du373?r.'" Ond dweud celwydd wrtho yr oedd.
18And he saith to him, `I also [am] a prophet like thee, and a messenger spake unto me by the word of Jehovah, saying, Bring him back with thee unto thy house, and he doth eat bread and drink water;` — he hath lied to him.
19 Aeth yntau'n l gydag ef, a bwyta ac yfed yn ei gartref.
19And he turneth back with him, and eateth bread in his house, and drinketh water.
20 Tra oeddent yn eistedd wrth y bwrdd, daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD at y proffwyd a'i dygodd yn l,
20And it cometh to pass — they are sitting at the table — and a word of Jehovah is unto the prophet who brought him back,
21 a chyhoeddodd wrth u373?r Duw a ddaeth o Jwda, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: 'Am iti wrthod yr hyn a ddywedodd yr ARGLWYDD, a pheidio chadw gorchymyn yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw,
21and he calleth unto the man of God who came from Judah, saying, `Thus said Jehovah, Because that thou hast provoked the mouth of Jehovah, and hast not kept the command that Jehovah thy God charged thee,
22 ond yn hytrach dychwelyd a bwyta ac yfed yn y lle y dywedodd ef wrthyt am beidio bwyta nac yfed, am hynny ni ddaw dy gorff i fedd dy hynafiaid.'"
22and turnest back and dost eat bread and drink water in the place of which He said unto thee, Thou dost not eat bread nor drink water — thy carcase cometh not in unto the burying-place of thy fathers.`
23 Ac wedi iddo orffen bwyta ac yfed, cyfrwywyd iddo asyn o eiddo'r proffwyd a'i dygodd yn l.
23And it cometh to pass, after his eating bread, and after his drinking, that he saddleth for him the ass, for the prophet whom he had brought back,
24 Fel yr oedd yn mynd ar hyd y ffordd, daeth llew i'w gyfarfod a'i ladd; gadawyd ei gorff i orwedd ar y ffordd, gyda'r asyn a'r llew yn sefyll yn ei ymyl.
24and he goeth, and a lion findeth him in the way, and putteth him to death, and his carcase is cast in the way, and the ass is standing near it, and the lion is standing near the carcase.
25 Digwyddodd rhywrai ddod heibio a gweld y corff ar y ffordd, gyda'r llew yn ei ymyl, ac aethant ac adrodd yr hanes yn y dref lle'r oedd y proffwyd oedrannus yn byw.
25And lo, men are passing by, and see the carcase cast in the way, and the lion standing near the carcase, and they come and speak [of it] in the city in which the old prophet is dwelling.
26 Pan glywodd y proffwyd a'i dygodd yn l o'i daith, dywedodd, "Dyna u373?r Duw a wrthododd neges yr ARGLWYDD; y mae'r ARGLWYDD wedi ei roi i'r llew, a hwnnw wedi ei larpio a'i ladd yn l y gair a fynegodd yr ARGLWYDD."
26And the prophet who brought him back out of the way heareth and saith, `It [is] the man of God who provoked the mouth of Jehovah, and Jehovah giveth him to the lion, and it destroyeth him, and putteth him to death, according to the word of Jehovah that he spake to him.`
27 A dywedodd wrth ei feibion, "Cyfrwywch asyn imi." Wedi iddynt ei gyfrwyo,
27And he speaketh unto his sons saying, `Saddle for me the ass,` and they saddle [it].
28 aeth y proffwyd, a chael y corff ar y ffordd, a'r llew a'r asyn yn sefyll yn ei ymyl. Nid oedd y llew wedi bwyta'r corff na llarpio'r asyn.
28And he goeth and findeth his carcase cast in the way, and the ass and the lion are standing near the carcase — the lion hath not eaten the carcase nor destroyed the ass.
29 Cododd y proffwyd y corff a'i osod ar yr asyn, a'i gludo'n l, a'i ddwyn i dref y proffwyd oedrannus er mwyn galaru drosto a'i gladdu.
29And the prophet taketh up the carcase of the man of God, and placeth it on the ass, and bringeth it back, and the old prophet cometh in unto the city to mourn and to bury him,
30 Ac wedi gosod y corff yn ei fedd ei hun, galarodd drosto a dweud, "O fy mrawd!"
30and he placeth his carcase in his own grave, and they mourn for him, `Oh, my brother!`
31 Ar l ei gladdu, dywedodd wrth ei feibion, "Pan fyddaf farw, claddwch fi yn y bedd lle mae gu373?r Duw wedi ei gladdu; gosodwch fy esgyrn wrth ei esgyrn ef.
31And it cometh to pass, after his burying him, that he speaketh unto his sons, saying, `At my death — ye have buried me in the burying-place in which the man of God is buried; near his bones place my bones;
32 Yn sicr fe ddigwydd yr hyn a gyhoeddodd drwy air yr ARGLWYDD yn erbyn yr allor ym Methel ac yn erbyn holl adeiladau'r uchelfeydd sydd yn nhrefi Samaria."
32for the word certainly cometh to pass that he called by the word of Jehovah concerning the altar which [is] Beth-El, and concerning all the houses of the high places that [are] in cities of Samaria.`
33 Ni throdd Jeroboam oddi wrth ei ffordd ddrygionus wedi'r digwyddiad hwn. Parhaodd i wneud offeiriaid uchelfeydd o'r bobl yn ddiwahn; byddai'n urddo pwy bynnag a ddymunai yn offeiriaid uchelfeydd.
33After this thing Jeroboam hath not turned from his evil way, and turneth back, and maketh of the extremities of the people priests of high places; he who is desirous he consecrateth his hand, and he is of the priests of the high places.
34 Bu hyn yn dramgwydd i deulu Jeroboam ac yn achos eu difetha a'u difodi oddi ar wyneb y ddaear.
34And in this thing is the sin of the house of Jeroboam, even to cut [it] off, and to destroy [it] from off the face of the ground.
