Young`s Literal Translation

1 Samuel

8

1 Wedi i Samuel heneiddio, penododd ei feibion yn farnwyr ar yr Israeliaid.
1And it cometh to pass, when Samuel [is] aged, that he maketh his sons judges over Israel.
2 Joel oedd ei fab hynaf, ac Abeia ei ail fab; ac yr oeddent yn barnu yn Beerseba.
2And the name of his first-born son is Joel, and the name of his second Abiah, judges in Beer-Sheba:
3 Eto nid oedd y meibion yn cerdded yn llwybrau eu tad, ond yn ceisio elw, yn derbyn cil-dwrn ac yn gwyro barn.
3and his sons have not walked in his ways, and turn aside after the dishonest gain, and take a bribe, and turn aside judgment.
4 Felly cyfarfu holl henuriaid Israel, a mynd at Samuel i Rama,
4And all the elders of Israel gather themselves together, and come in unto Samuel to Ramath,
5 a dweud wrtho, "Yr wyt ti wedi mynd yn hen, ac nid yw dy feibion yn cerdded yn dy lwybrau di; rho inni'n awr frenin i'n barnu, yr un fath 'r holl genhedloedd."
5and say unto him, `Lo, thou hast become aged, and thy sons have not walked in thy ways; now, appoint to us a king, to judge us, like all the nations.`
6 Gofidiodd Samuel eu bod yn dweud, "Rho inni frenin i'n barnu", a gweddodd Samuel ar yr ARGLWYDD.
6And the thing is evil in the eyes of Samuel, when they have said, `Give to us a king to judge us;` and Samuel prayeth unto Jehovah.
7 Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Samuel, "Gwrando ar y bobl ym mhopeth y maent yn ei ddweud wrthyt, oherwydd nid ti ond myfi y maent yn ei wrthod rhag bod yn frenin arnynt.
7And Jehovah saith unto Samuel, `Hearken to the voice of the people, to all that they say unto thee, for thee they have not rejected, but Me they have rejected, from reigning over them.
8 Yn union fel y gwnaethant mi o'r dydd y dygais hwy i fyny o'r Aifft hyd heddiw, sef fy ngadael a gwasanaethu duwiau eraill, felly hefyd y gwnnt thithau.
8According to all the works that they have done from the day of My bringing them up out of Egypt, even unto this day, when they forsake Me, and serve other gods — so they are doing also to thee.
9 Gwrando'n awr ar eu cais, ond gofala hefyd dy fod yn eu rhybuddio'n ddifrifol ac yn dangos iddynt ddull y brenin a fydd yn teyrnasu arnynt."
9And now, hearken to their voice; only, surely thou dost certainly protest to them, and hast declared to them the custom of the king who doth reign over them.`
10 Mynegodd Samuel holl eiriau'r ARGLWYDD wrth y bobl oedd yn gofyn am frenin ganddo,
10And Samuel speaketh all the words of Jehovah unto the people who are asking from him a king,
11 a dweud, "Dyma ddull y brenin a fydd yn teyrnasu arnoch: fe gymer eich meibion a'u gwneud yn gerbydwyr ac yn farchogion i fynd o flaen ei gerbyd.
11and saith, `This is the custom of the king who doth reign over you: Your sons he doth take, and hath appointed for himself among his chariots, and among his horsemen, and they have run before his chariots;
12 Gwna rai ohonynt yn gapteiniaid mil a chapteiniaid hanner cant, eraill i aredig ei dir ac i fedi ei gynhaeaf, ac eraill i wneud ei arfau rhyfel ac offer ei gerbydau.
12also to appoint for himself heads of thousands, and heads of fifties; also to plow his plowing, and to reap his reaping; and to make instruments of his war, and instruments of his charioteer.
13 Fe gymer eich merched yn bersawresau, yn gogyddesau ac yn bobyddesau;
13`And your daughters he doth take for perfumers, and for cooks, and for bakers;
14 cymer hefyd eich meysydd, eich gwinllannoedd a'ch gerddi olewydd gorau a'u rhoi i'w weision;
14and your fields, and your vineyards, and your olive-yards — the best — he doth take, and hath given to his servants.
15 bydd yn degymu'ch u375?d a'ch gwinllannoedd ac yn ei rannu i'w swyddogion a'i weision;
15And your seed and your vineyards he doth tithe, and hath given to his eunuchs, and to his servants.
16 ac yn cymryd eich llafurwyr a'ch morynion, eich bustych gorau a'ch asynnod, ar gyfer ei waith ei hun.
16And your men-servants, and your maid-servants, and your young men — the best, and your asses, he doth take, and hath prepared for his own work;
17 Fe ddegyma'ch defaid, a byddwch chwithau'n gaethweision iddo.
17your flock he doth tithe, and ye are to him for servants.
18 A'r dydd hwnnw byddwch yn protestio oherwydd y brenin y byddwch wedi ei ddewis; ond ni fydd yr ARGLWYDD yn eich ateb y diwrnod hwnnw."
18And ye have cried out in that day because of the king whom ye have chosen for yourselves, and Jehovah doth not answer you in that day.`
19 Gwrthododd y bobl wrando ar Samuel. "Na," meddent, "y mae'n rhaid inni gael brenin,
19And the people refuse to hearken to the voice of Samuel, and say, `Nay, but a king is over us,
20 i ni fod yr un fath 'r holl genhedloedd, gyda brenin i'n barnu a'n harwain i ryfel ac ymladd ein brwydrau."
20and we have been, even we, like all the nations; and our king hath judged us, and gone out before us, and fought our battles.`
21 Gwrandawodd Samuel ar y cwbl a ddywedodd y bobl, a'i adrodd wrth yr ARGLWYDD.
21And Samuel heareth all the words of the people, and speaketh them in the ears of Jehovah;
22 Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Samuel, "Gwrando ar eu cais, a rho frenin iddynt." A dywedodd Samuel wrth yr Israeliaid, "Ewch adref bob un."
22and Jehovah saith unto Samuel, `Hearken to their voice, and thou hast caused to reign over them a king.` And Samuel saith unto the men of Israel, `Go ye each to his city.`
