¹ Y mae'r rhai sy'n gaethweision dan yr iau i gyfrif eu meistri eu hunain yn deilwng o wir barch, fel na chaiff enw Duw, na'r athrawiaeth Gristionogol, air drwg.

¹As many as are servants under a yoke, their own masters worthy of all honour let them reckon, that the name of God and the teaching may not be evil spoken of;

² Ac ni ddylai'r rhai sydd �'u meistri'n gredinwyr roi llai o barch iddynt am eu bod yn gyd-gredinwyr. Yn hytrach, dylent roi gwell gwasanaeth iddynt am mai credinwyr sy'n annwyl ganddynt yw'r rhai fydd yn elwa ar eu hymroddiad. Dyma'r pethau yr wyt ti i'w dysgu a'u cymell.

²and those having believing masters, let them not slight [them], because they are brethren, but rather let them serve, because they are stedfast and beloved, who of the benefit are partaking. These things be teaching and exhorting;

³ Os bydd rhywun yn dysgu'n groes i hyn, ac yn gwrthod glynu wrth eiriau iachusol, geiriau ein Harglwydd Iesu Grist, ac wrth athrawiaeth sy'n gyson � bywyd duwiol,

³if any one be teaching otherwise, and do not consent to sound words — those of our Lord Jesus Christ — and to the teaching according to piety,

⁴ y mae hwnnw'n llawn balchder, heb ddeall dim, ag awydd afiach ynddo i godi cwestiynau a dadlau am eiriau. Cenfigen a chynnen ac enllib, a drwgdybio cywilyddus ac anghydweld parhaus, sy'n dod o bethau felly,

⁴he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and word-striving, out of which doth come envy, strife, evil-speakings, evil-surmisings,

⁵ mewn pobl sydd �'u meddyliau wedi eu llygru ac sydd wedi eu hamddifadu o'r gwirionedd, rhai sy'n tybio mai modd i ennill cyfoeth yw bywyd duwiol.

⁵wranglings of men wholly corrupted in mind, and destitute of the truth, supposing the piety to be gain; depart from such;

⁶ Ac wrth gwrs, y mae cyfoeth mawr mewn bywyd duwiol ynghyd � bodlonrwydd mewnol.

⁶but it is great gain — the piety with contentment;

⁷ A'r ffaith yw, na ddaethom � dim i'r byd, ac felly hefyd na allwn fynd � dim allan ohono.

⁷for nothing did we bring into the world — [it is] manifest that we are able to carry nothing out;

⁸ Os oes gennym fwyd a dillad, gadewch inni fodloni ar hynny.

⁸but having food and raiment — with these we shall suffice ourselves;

⁹ Y mae'r rhai sydd am fod yn gyfoethog yn syrthio i demtasiynau a maglau, a llu o chwantau direswm a niweidiol, sy'n hyrddio pobl i lawr i ddistryw a cholledigaeth.

⁹and those wishing to be rich, do fall into temptation and a snare, and many desires, foolish and hurtful, that sink men into ruin and destruction,

¹⁰ Oherwydd gwraidd pob math o ddrwg yw cariad at arian, ac wrth geisio cael gafael ynddo crwydrodd rhai oddi wrth y ffydd, a'u trywanu eu hunain ag arteithiau lawer.

¹⁰for a root of all the evils is the love of money, which certain longing for did go astray from the faith, and themselves did pierce through with many sorrows;

¹¹ Ond yr wyt ti, u373?r Duw, i ffoi rhag y pethau hyn, ac i roi dy fryd ar uniondeb, duwioldeb, ffydd, cariad, dyfalbarhad ac addfwynder.

¹¹and thou, O man of God, these things flee, and pursue righteousness, piety, faith, love, endurance, meekness;

¹² Ymdrecha ymdrech lew y ffydd, a chymer feddiant o'r bywyd tragwyddol. I hyn y cefaist dy alw pan wnaethost dy gyffes lew o'r ffydd o flaen tystion lawer.

¹²be striving the good strife of the faith, be laying hold on the life age-during, to which also thou wast called, and didst profess the right profession before many witnesses.

¹³ Yng ngu373?ydd Duw, sy'n rhoi bywyd i bob peth, ac yng ngu373?ydd Crist Iesu, a dystiodd i'r un gyffes lew o flaen Pontius Pilat, yr wyf yn dy gymell

¹³I charge thee, before God, who is making all things alive, and of Christ Jesus, who did testify before Pontius Pilate the right profession,

¹⁴ i gadw'r gorchymyn yn ddi-fai a digerydd hyd at ymddangosiad ein Harglwydd Iesu Grist,

¹⁴that thou keep the command unspotted, unblameable, till the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁵ a amlygir yn ei amser addas gan yr unig Bennaeth bendigedig, Brenin y brenhinoedd, Arglwydd yr arglwyddi.

¹⁵which in His own times He shall shew — the blessed and only potentate, the King of the kings and Lord of the lords,

¹⁶ Ganddo ef yn unig y mae anfarwoldeb, ac mewn goleuni anhygyrch y mae'n preswylio. Nid oes neb wedi ei weld, ac ni ddichon neb ei weld. Iddo Ef y byddo anrhydedd a gallu tragwyddol! Amen.

¹⁶who only is having immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable, whom no one of men did see, nor is able to see, to whom [is] honour and might age-during! Amen.

¹⁷ Gorchymyn di i gyfoethogion y byd presennol beidio � bod yn falch, ac iddynt sefydlu eu gobaith, nid ar ansicrwydd cyfoeth ond ar y Duw sy'n rhoi inni yn helaeth bob peth i'w fwynhau.

¹⁷Those rich in the present age charge thou not to be high-minded, nor to hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who is giving to us all things richly for enjoyment; —

¹⁸ Annog hwy i wneud daioni, i fod yn gyfoethog mewn gweithredoedd da, i fod yn hael ac yn barod i rannu,

¹⁸to do good, to be rich in good works, to be ready to impart, willing to communicate,

¹⁹ ac felly i gael trysor iddynt eu hunain fydd yn sylfaen sicr ar gyfer y dyfodol, i feddiannu'r bywyd sydd yn fywyd yn wir.

¹⁹treasuring up to themselves a right foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on the life age-during.

²⁰ Timotheus, cadw'n ddiogel yr hyn a ymddiriedwyd i'th ofal, a thro dy gefn ar y gwag siarad bydol, a'r gwrthddywediadau a gamenwir yn wybodaeth.

²⁰O Timotheus, the thing entrusted guard thou, avoiding the profane vain-words and opposition of the falsely-named knowledge,

²¹ Y mae rhai sy'n proffesu'r wybodaeth hon wedi gwyro ymhell oddi wrth y ffydd. Gras fyddo gyda chwi!

²¹which certain professing — concerning the faith did swerve; the grace [is] with you. Amen.
