1 Bu farw Jehosaffat, a chladdwyd ef gyda'i ragflaenwyr yn ninas ei dad Dafydd, a daeth ei fab Jehoram yn frenin yn ei le.
1And Jehoshaphat lieth with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of David, and Jehoram his son reigneth in his stead.
2 Yr oedd gan Jehoram frodyr, meibion i Jehosaffat, sef Asareia, Jehiel, Sechareia, Asareia, Michael a Seffateia. Meibion i Jehosaffat brenin Jwda oeddent i gyd,
2And he hath brethren, sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah; all these [are] sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel,
3 a rhoddodd eu tad iddynt lawer o anrhegion, arian ac aur a phethau gwerthfawr, yn ogystal dinasoedd caerog yn Jwda; ond i Jehoram y rhoddodd y frenhiniaeth, am mai ef oedd y cyntafanedig.
3and their father giveth to them many gifts of silver and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah, and the kingdom he hath given to Jehoram, for He [is] the first-born.
4 Ar l i Jehoram ymsefydlu ar deyrnas ei dad, lladdodd bob un o'i frodyr a rhai o dywysogion Israel 'r cleddyf.
4And Jehoram riseth up over the kingdom of his father, and strengtheneth himself, and slayeth all his brethren with the sword, and also -- of the heads of Israel.
5 Deuddeg ar hugain oed oedd Jehoram pan ddaeth yn frenin, a theyrnasodd am wyth mlynedd yn Jerwsalem.
5A son of thirty and two years [is] Jehoram in his reigning, and eight years he hath reigned in Jerusalem,
6 Dilynodd lwybr brenhinoedd Israel, fel y gwni tu375? Ahab, gan mai merch Ahab oedd ei wraig, a gwnaeth yr hyn oedd ddrwg yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD.
6and he walketh in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab, for a daughter of Ahab hath been to him for a wife, and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah,
7 Eto, oherwydd y cyfamod a wnaeth Dafydd, ni fynnai'r ARGLWYDD ddifetha tu375? Dafydd, am iddo addo rhoi lamp iddo ef a'i feibion am byth.
7and Jehovah hath not been willing to destroy the house of David, for the sake of the covenant that He made with David, and as He had said to give to him a lamp, and to his sons -- all the days.
8 Yn ei gyfnod ef gwrthryfelodd Edom yn erbyn Jwda a gosod brenin arnynt eu hunain.
8In his days hath Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and cause a king to reign over them;
9 Croesodd Jehoram yno gyda'i gapteiniaid a'i holl gerbydau; cododd liw nos ac ymosod gyda'i gerbydwyr ar yr Edomiaid oedd yn ei amgylchu.
9and Jehoram passeth over with his heads, and all the chariots with him, and it cometh to pass, he hath risen by night and smiteth the Edomites who are coming round against him, and the princes of the chariots,
10 Ac y mae Edom mewn gwrthryfel yn erbyn Jwda hyd y dydd hwn. Yr un pryd gwrthryfelodd Libna yn ei erbyn, am iddo droi cefn ar yr ARGLWYDD, Duw ei hynafiaid.
10and Edom revolteth from under the hand of Judah unto this day; then doth Libnah revolt at that time from under his hand, because he hath forsaken Jehovah, God of his fathers,
11 Ef hefyd a adeiladodd uchelfeydd ym mynydd-dir Jwda, a gwneud i drigolion Jerwsalem buteinio, ac arwain Jwda ar gyfeiliorn.
11also, he hath made high places in the mountains of Judah, and causeth the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit whoredom, and compelleth Judah.
12 Daeth llythyr at Jehoram oddi wrth y proffwyd Elias yn dweud, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Dafydd dy dad: 'Ni ddilynaist ti lwybrau Jehosaffat dy dad ac Asa brenin Jwda,
12And there cometh in unto him a writing from Elijah the prophet, saying, `Thus said Jehovah, God of David thy father, Because that thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, and in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
13 ond dilynaist frenhinoedd Israel, a gwneud i Jwda a thrigolion Jerwsalem buteinio, fel y gwnaeth tu375? Ahab gydag Israel; yr wyt hefyd wedi lladd dy frodyr o du375? dy dad, dynion gwell na thi.
13and thou dost walk in the way of the kings of Israel, and dost cause Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit whoredom like the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also thy brethren, the house of thy father, who are better than thyself, thou hast slain;
14 Am hyn, fe ddaw'r ARGLWYDD phla mawr ar dy bobl, dy feibion, dy wragedd a'th holl olud.
14lo, Jehovah is smiting -- a great smiting -- among thy people, and among thy sons, and among thy wives, and among all thy goods --
15 Fe fyddi di dy hun yn dioddef o glefyd enbyd yn dy goluddion, clefyd fydd ymhen amser yn gwneud i'r coluddion ddisgyn allan.'"
15and thou, with many sicknesses, with disease of thy bowels, till thy bowels come out, by the sickness, day by day.'
16 Yna cyffrdd yr ARGLWYDD y Philistiaid, a'r Arabiaid oedd yn byw yn ymyl yr Ethiopiaid, yn erbyn Jehoram.
16And Jehovah waketh up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, who [are] beside the Cushim,
17 Daethant i fyny yn erbyn Jwda ac ymosod arni, a chludo ymaith yr holl olud oedd yn nhu375?'r brenin, yn ogystal 'i feibion a'i wragedd; ni adawyd neb ond Jehoahas, ei fab ieuengaf, ar l.
17and they come up into Judah, and rend it, and take captive all the substance that is found at the house of the king, and also his sons, and his wives, and there hath not been left to him a son except Jehoahaz the youngest of his sons.
18 Ar l hyn i gyd trawodd yr ARGLWYDD ef chlefyd marwol yn ei goluddion.
18And after all this hath Jehovah plagued him in his bowels by a disease for which there is no healing,
19 Ac yng nghwrs amser, wedi i ddwy flynedd ddod i ben, disgynnodd ei goluddion allan o achos y clefyd, a bu farw mewn poenau enbyd. Ni wnaeth y bobl dn er anrhydedd iddo, fel y gwnaethant i'w ragflaenwyr.
19and it cometh to pass, from days to days, and at the time of the going out of the end of two years, his bowels have gone out with his sickness, and he dieth of sore diseases, and his people have not made for him a burning like the burning of his fathers.
20 Deuddeg ar hugain oedd ei oed pan ddaeth yn frenin, a theyrnasodd am wyth mlynedd yn Jerwsalem. Bu farw heb neb yn galaru amdano, ac fe'i claddwyd yn Ninas Dafydd, ond nid ym meddau'r brenhinoedd.
20A son of thirty and two [years] was he in his reigning, and eight years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and he goeth without desire, and they bury him in the city of David, and not in the graves of the kings.
