Young`s Literal Translation

Deuteronomy

25

1 Os bydd ymrafael rhwng dau, y maent i ddod 'r achos i lys barn, ac y mae'r barnwr i ddedfrydu, gan ddyfarnu o blaid y cyfiawn a chondemnio'r euog.
1`When there is a strife between men, and they have come nigh unto the judgment, and they have judged, and declared righteous the righteous, and declared wrong the wrong-doer,
2 Ac os yw'r euog yn haeddu ei fflangellu, y mae'r barnwr i beri iddo orwedd a derbyn yn ei u373?ydd y nifer o lachau sy'n briodol i'r trosedd.
2then it hath come to pass, if the wrong-doer is to be smitten, that the judge hath caused him to fall down, and [one] hath smitten him in his presence, according to the sufficiency of his wrong-doing, by number;
3 Nid ydynt i'w guro mwy na deugain llach rhag iddo, o'i fflangellu lawer mwy na hyn, fynd yn wrthrych dirmyg yn d'olwg.
3forty [times] he doth smite him — he is not adding, lest, he is adding to smite him above these — many stripes, and thy brother is lightly esteemed in thine eyes.
4 Nid wyt i roi genfa am safn ych tra byddo'n dyrnu.
4`Thou dost not muzzle an ox in its threshing.
5 Os bydd brodyr yn byw gyda'i gilydd ac un ohonynt yn marw'n ddi-blant, nid yw'r weddw i briodi estron o'r tu allan; y mae ei brawd-yng-nghyfraith i fynd i mewn ati a'i chymryd hi'n wraig iddo, a chyflawni dyletswydd.
5`When brethren dwell together, and one of them hath died, and hath no son, the wife of the dead is not without to a strange man; her husband`s brother doth go in unto her, and hath taken her to him for a wife, and doth perform the duty of her husband`s brother;
6 Bydd y mab cyntaf a enir iddi yn cymryd enw'r brawd a fu farw, rhag dileu ei enw o Israel.
6and it hath been, the first-born which she beareth doth rise for the name of his dead brother, and his name is not wiped away out of Israel.
7 Ac os na bydd y dyn hwnnw'n dymuno priodi ei chwaer-yng-nghyfraith, aed honno i fyny i'r porth at yr henuriaid a dweud, "Y mae fy mrawd-yng-nghyfraith yn gwrthod sicrhau bod enw ei frawd yn parhau yn Israel; nid yw'n fodlon cyflawni dyletswydd brawd-yng-nghyfraith mi."
7`And if the man doth not delight to take his brother`s wife, then hath his brother`s wife gone up to the gate, unto the elders, and said, My husband`s brother is refusing to raise up to his brother a name in Israel; he hath not been willing to perform the duty of my husband`s brother;
8 Yna y mae henuriaid ei dref i'w alw atynt a siarad ag ef; ac os yw'n para i ddweud, "Nid wyf yn dymuno ei phriodi",
8and the elders of his city have called for him, and spoken unto him, and he hath stood and said, I have no desire to take her;
9 bydd ei chwaer-yng-nghyfraith yn dod ato yng ngu373?ydd yr henuriaid, yn tynnu ei sandal oddi ar ei droed, yn poeri yn ei wyneb ac yn cyhoeddi, "Dyma a wneir i'r dyn nad yw am adeiladu tu375? ei frawd."
9`Then hath his brother`s wife drawn nigh unto him, before the eyes of the elders, and drawn his shoe from off his foot, and spat in his face, and answered and said, Thus it is done to the man who doth not build up the house of his brother;
10 A bydd ei deulu'n cael ei adnabod drwy Israel fel teulu'r dyn y tynnwyd ei sandal.
10and his name hath been called in Israel — The house of him whose shoe is drawn off.
11 Os bydd dau gymydog yn ymladd 'i gilydd, a gwraig y naill yn dod i achub ei gu373?r rhag yr un sy'n ei daro, ac yn estyn ei llaw a chydio yng nghwd y llall,
11`When men strive together, one with another, and the wife of the one hath drawn near to deliver her husband out of the hand of his smiter, and hath put forth her hand, and laid hold on his secrets,
12 torrer ei llaw i ffwrdd; nid wyt i dosturio wrthi.
12then thou hast cut off her hand, thine eye doth not spare.
13 Nid wyt i feddu pwysau anghyfartal yn dy god, un yn drwm a'r llall yn ysgafn.
13`Thou hast not in thy bag a stone and a stone, a great and a small.
14 Nid wyt i feddu yn dy du375? fesurau anghyfartal, un yn fawr a'r llall yn fach.
14Thou hast not in thy house an ephah and an ephah, a great and a small.
15 Y mae dy bwysau a'th fesurau i fod yn gyfain ac yn safonol, fel yr estynner dy ddyddiau yn y tir y mae'r ARGLWYDD dy Dduw yn ei roi iti.
15Thou hast a stone complete and just, thou hast an ephah complete and just, so that they prolong thy days on the ground which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee;
16 Oherwydd y mae pob un sy'n gwneud fel arall, ac yn gweithredu'n anonest, yn ffiaidd gan yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw.
16for the abomination of Jehovah thy God [is] any one doing these things, any one doing iniquity.
17 Cofia'r hyn a wnaeth Amalec iti ar dy ffordd allan o'r Aifft;
17`Remember that which Amalek hath done to thee in the way, in your going out from Egypt,
18 heb ofni Duw, daeth allan ac ymosod o'r tu cefn ar bawb oedd yn llusgo'n araf ar dy l, pan oeddit yn lluddedig a diffygiol.
18that he hath met thee in the way, and smiteth in all those feeble behind thee (and thou wearied and fatigued), and is not fearing God.
19 Pan fydd yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw wedi rhoi iti lonydd oddi wrth dy holl elynion o'th amgylch yn y wlad y mae'n ei rhoi iti i'w meddiannu'n etifeddiaeth, yr wyt i ddileu coffadwriaeth Amalec oddi tan y nef. Paid ag anghofio.
19And it hath been, in Jehovah thy God`s giving rest to thee, from all thine enemies round about, in the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee — an inheritance to possess it — thou dost blot out the rememberance of Amalek from under the heavens — thou dost not forget.
