¹ Dyma yr wyf yn ei olygu: cyhyd ag y mae'r etifedd dan oed, nid oes dim gwahaniaeth rhyngddo a chaethwas, er ei fod yn berchennog ar y stad i gyd.

¹And I say, so long time as the heir is a babe, he differeth nothing from a servant — being lord of all,

² Y mae dan geidwaid a goruchwylwyr hyd y dyddiad a benodwyd gan ei dad.

²but is under tutors and stewards till the time appointed of the father,

³ Felly ninnau, pan oeddem dan oed, yr oeddem wedi ein caethiwo dan ysbrydion elfennig y cyfanfyd.

³so also we, when we were babes, under the elements of the world were in servitude,

⁴ Ond pan ddaeth cyflawniad yr amser, anfonodd Duw ei Fab, wedi ei eni o wraig, wedi ei eni dan y Gyfraith,

⁴and when the fulness of time did come, God sent forth His Son, come of a woman, come under law,

⁵ i brynu rhyddid i'r rhai oedd dan y Gyfraith, er mwyn i ni gael braint mabwysiad.

⁵that those under law he may redeem, that the adoption of sons we may receive;

⁶ A chan eich bod yn blant, anfonodd Duw Ysbryd ei Fab i'n calonnau, yn llefain, "Abba! Dad!"

⁶and because ye are sons, God did send forth the spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, `Abba, Father!`

⁷ Felly, nid caethwas wyt ti bellach, ond plentyn; ac os plentyn, yna etifedd, trwy weithred Duw.

⁷so that thou art no more a servant, but a son, and if a son, also an heir of God through Christ.

⁸ Gynt, yn wir, a chwithau heb adnabod Duw, caethweision oeddech i fodau nad ydynt o ran eu natur yn dduwiau.

⁸But then, indeed, not having known God, ye were in servitude to those not by nature gods,

⁹ Ond yn awr, a chwithau wedi adnabod Duw, neu yn hytrach, wedi eich adnabod gan Dduw, sut y gallwch droi yn �l at yr ysbrydion elfennig llesg a thlawd, a mynnu mynd yn gaethweision iddynt hwy unwaith eto?

⁹and now, having known God — and rather being known by God — how turn ye again unto the weak and poor elements to which anew ye desire to be in servitude?

¹⁰ Cadw dyddiau, a misoedd, a thymhorau, a blynyddoedd, yr ydych.

¹⁰days ye observe, and months, and times, and years!

¹¹ Y mae arnaf ofn mai yn ofer yr wyf wedi llafurio ar eich rhan.

¹¹I am afraid of you, lest in vain I did labour toward you.

¹² Rwy'n ymbil arnoch, gyfeillion, byddwch fel yr wyf fi, oherwydd fe f�m i, yn wir, fel yr oeddech chwi. Ni wnaethoch ddim cam � mi.

¹²Become as I [am] — because I also [am] as ye brethren, I beseech you; to me ye did no hurt,

¹³ Fel y gwyddoch, ar achlysur gwendid corfforol y pregethais yr Efengyl i chwi y tro cyntaf;

¹³and ye have known that through infirmity of the flesh I did proclaim good news to you at the first,

¹⁴ ac er i gyflwr fy nghorff fod yn demtasiwn i chwi, ni fuoch na dibris na dirmygus ohonof, ond fy nerbyn a wnaethoch fel angel Duw, fel Crist Iesu ei hun.

¹⁴and my trial that [is] in my flesh ye did not despise nor reject, but as a messenger of God ye did receive me — as Christ Jesus;

¹⁵ Ble'r aeth eich llawenydd? Oherwydd gallaf dystio amdanoch, y buasech wedi tynnu'ch llygaid allan a'u rhoi i mi, petasai hynny'n bosibl.

¹⁵what then was your happiness? for I testify to you, that if possible, your eyes having plucked out, ye would have given to me;

¹⁶ A wyf fi, felly, wedi mynd yn elyn ichwi, am imi ddweud y gwir wrthych?

¹⁶so that your enemy have I become, being true to you?

¹⁷ Y mae yna bobl sy'n rhoi sylw mawr ichwi, ond nid er eich lles; ceisio eich cau chwi allan y maent, er mwyn i chwi roi sylw iddynt hwy.

¹⁷they are zealous for you — [yet] not well, but they wish to shut us out, that for them ye may be zealous;

¹⁸ Peth da bob amser yw ichwi gael sylw, pan fydd hynny er lles, ac nid yn unig pan fyddaf fi'n bresennol gyda chwi.

¹⁸and [it is] good to be zealously regarded, in what is good, at all times, and not only in my being present with you;

¹⁹ Fy mhlant bach, yr wyf unwaith eto mewn gwewyr esgor arnoch, hyd nes y ceir ffurf Crist ynoch.

¹⁹my little children, of whom again I travail in birth, till Christ may be formed in you,

²⁰ Byddai'n dda gennyf fod gyda chwi yn awr, a gostegu fy llais, oherwydd yr wyf mewn penbleth yn eich cylch.

²⁰and I was wishing to be present with you now, and to change my voice, because I am in doubt about you.

²¹ Dywedwch i mi, chwi sy'n mynnu bod dan gyfraith, oni wrandewch ar y Gyfraith?

²¹Tell me, ye who are willing to be under law, the law do ye not hear?

²² Y mae'n ysgrifenedig i Abraham gael dau fab, un o'i gaethferch ac un o'i wraig rydd.

²²for it hath been written, that Abraham had two sons, one by the maid-servant, and one by the free-woman,

²³ Ganwyd mab y gaethferch yn �l greddfau'r cnawd, ond ganwyd mab y wraig rydd trwy addewid Duw.

²³but he who [is] of the maid-servant, according to flesh hath been, and he who [is] of the free-woman, through the promise;

²⁴ Alegori yw hyn oll. Y mae'r gwragedd yn cynrychioli dau gyfamod. Y mae un o Fynydd Sinai, yn geni plant i gaethiwed.

²⁴which things are allegorized, for these are the two covenants: one, indeed, from mount Sinai, to servitude bringing forth, which is Hagar;

²⁵ Hagar yw hon; y mae Hagar yn cynrychioli Mynydd Sinai yn Arabia, ac y mae'n cyfateb i'r Jerwsalem sydd yn awr, oherwydd y mae hi, ynghyd �'i phlant, mewn caethiwed.

²⁵for this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and doth correspond to the Jerusalem that now [is], and is in servitude with her children,

²⁶ Ond y mae'r Jerwsalem sydd fry yn rhydd, a hi yw ein mam ni.

²⁶and the Jerusalem above is the free-woman, which is mother of us all,

²⁷ Oherwydd y mae'n ysgrifenedig: "Llawenha, y wraig ddiffrwyth nad wyt yn dwyn plant; bloeddia ganu, y wraig nad wyt fyth mewn gwewyr esgor; oherwydd y mae plant y wraig ddiymgeledd yn lluosocach na phlant y wraig sydd � gu373?r ganddi."

²⁷for it hath been written, `Rejoice, O barren, who art not bearing; break forth and cry, thou who art not travailing, because many [are] the children of the desolate — more than of her having the husband.`

²⁸ Ond yr ydych chwi, gyfeillion, fel Isaac, yn blant addewid Duw.

²⁸And we, brethren, as Isaac, are children of promise,

²⁹ Ond fel yr oedd plentyn y cnawd gynt yn erlid plentyn yr Ysbryd, felly y mae yn awr hefyd.

²⁹but as then he who was born according to the flesh did persecute him according to the spirit, so also now;

³⁰ Ond beth y mae'r Ysgrythur yn ei ddweud? "Gyrr allan y gaethferch a'i mab, oherwydd ni chaiff mab y gaethferch fyth gydetifeddu � mab y wraig rydd."

³⁰but what saith the Writing? `Cast forth the maid-servant and her son, for the son of the maid-servant may not be heir with the son of the free-woman;`

³¹ Gan hynny, gyfeillion, nid plant i'r gaethferch ydym ni, ond plant i'r wraig rydd.

³¹then, brethren, we are not a maid-servant`s children, but the free-woman`s.
