Genesis

19

1 Daeth y ddau angel i Sodom gyda'r hwyr, tra oedd Lot yn eistedd ym mhorth Sodom. Pan welodd Lot hwy, cododd i'w cyfarfod, ac ymgrymu i'r llawr,
1And two of the messengers come towards Sodom at even, and Lot is sitting at the gate of Sodom, and Lot seeth, and riseth to meet them, and boweth himself — face to the earth,
2 a dweud, "F'arglwyddi, trowch i mewn i du375? eich gwas dros nos, a golchwch eich traed; yna cewch godi'n fore a mynd ar eich taith." Dywedasant hwy, "Na, arhoswn heno yn yr heol."
2and he saith, `Lo, I pray you, my lords, turn aside, I pray you, unto the house of your servant, and lodge, and wash your feet — then ye have risen early and gone on your way;` and they say, `Nay, but in the broad place we do lodge.`
3 Ond am iddo erfyn yn daer arnynt, troesant i mewn i'w du375?; gwnaeth yntau wledd iddynt a phobi bara croyw, a bwytasant.
3And he presseth on them greatly, and they turn aside unto him, and come in unto his house; and he maketh for them a banquet, and hath baked unleavened things; and they do eat.
4 Ond cyn iddynt fynd i orwedd, amgylchwyd y tu375? gan ddynion Sodom, pawb o bob cwr o'r ddinas, yn hen ac ifanc;
4Before they lie down, the men of the city — men of Sodom — have come round about against the house, from young even unto aged, all the people from the extremity;
5 ac yr oeddent yn galw ar Lot, ac yn dweud wrtho, "Ble mae'r gwu375?r a ddaeth atat heno? Tyrd hwy allan atom, inni gael cyfathrach hwy."
5and they call unto Lot and say to him, `Where [are] the men who have come in unto thee to-night? bring them out unto us, and we know them.`
6 Aeth Lot i'r drws atynt, a chau'r drws ar ei l,
6And Lot goeth out unto them, to the opening, and the door hath shut behind him,
7 a dywedodd, "Fy mrodyr, peidiwch gwneud y drwg hwn.
7and saith, `Do not, I pray you, my brethren, do evil;
8 Edrychwch, y mae gennyf ddwy ferch heb gael cyfathrach gu373?r; dof hwy allan atoch. Cewch wneud iddynt hwy fel y dymunwch, ond peidiwch gwneud dim i'r gwu375?r hyn, gan eu bod wedi dod dan gysgod fy nghronglwyd."
8lo, I pray you, I have two daughters, who have not known any one; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do to them as [is] good in your eyes; only to these men do not anything, for therefore have they come in within the shadow of my roof.`
9 Ond meddant hwy, "Saf yn l! Ai un a ddaeth yma i fyw dros dro sydd i ddatgan barn? Yn awr, gwnawn fwy o niwed i ti nag iddynt hwy." Yr oedd y dynion yn gwasgu mor drwm ar Lot fel y bu bron iddynt dorri'r drws.
9And they say, `Come nigh hither;` they say also, `This one hath come in to sojourn, and he certainly judgeth! now, we do evil to thee more than [to] them;` and they press against the man, against Lot greatly, and come nigh to break the door.
10 Ond estynnodd y gwu375?r eu dwylo, a thynnu Lot atynt i'r tu375? a chau'r drws.
10And the men put forth their hand, and bring in Lot unto them, into the house, and have shut the door;
11 A thrawsant yn ddall y dynion oedd wrth ddrws y tu375?, yn fawr a bach, nes iddynt flino chwilio am y drws.
11and the men who [are] at the opening of the house they have smitten with blindness, from small even unto great, and they weary themselves to find the opening.
12 Yna dywedodd y gwu375?r wrth Lot, "Pwy arall sydd gennyt yma? Dos 'th feibion-yng-nghyfraith, dy feibion a'th ferched, a phwy bynnag sydd gennyt yn y ddinas, allan o'r lle hwn,
12And the men say unto Lot, `Whom hast thou here still? son-in-law, thy sons also, and thy daughters, and all whom thou hast in the city, bring out from this place;
13 oherwydd yr ydym ar fin ei ddinistrio. Am fod y gu373?yn yn fawr yn eu herbyn gerbron yr ARGLWYDD, fe anfonodd yr ARGLWYDD ni i ddinistrio'r lle hwn."
13for we are destroying this place, for their cry hath been great [before] the face of Jehovah, and Jehovah doth send us to destroy it.`
14 Felly aeth Lot allan a dweud wrth ei feibion-yng-nghyfraith, a oedd am briodi ei ferched, "Codwch, ewch allan o'r lle hwn; y mae'r ARGLWYDD ar fin dinistrio'r ddinas." Ond yng ngolwg ei feibion-yng-nghyfraith yr oedd Lot fel un yn cellwair.
14And Lot goeth out, and speaketh unto his sons-in-law, those taking his daughters, and saith, `Rise, go out from this place, for Jehovah is destroying the city;` and he is as [one] mocking in the eyes of his sons-in-law.
15 Ar doriad gwawr, bu'r angylion yn erfyn ar Lot, gan ddweud, "Cod, cymer dy wraig a'r ddwy ferch sydd gyda thi, rhag dy ddifa pan gosbir y ddinas."
15And when the dawn hath ascended, then the messengers press upon Lot, saying, `Rise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters who are found present, lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.`
16 Yr oedd yntau'n oedi, ond gan fod yr ARGLWYDD yn tosturio wrtho, cydiodd y gwu375?r yn ei law ac yn llaw ei wraig a'i ddwy ferch, a'u harwain a'u gosod y tu allan i'r ddinas.
16And he lingereth, and the men lay hold on his hand, and on the hand of his wife, and on the hand of his two daughters, through the mercy of Jehovah unto him, and they bring him out, and cause him to rest without the city.
17 Wedi iddynt eu dwyn allan, dywedodd un, "Dianc am dy einioes; paid ag edrych yn l, na sefyllian yn y gwastadedd; dianc i'r mynydd rhag dy ddifa."
17And it cometh to pass when he hath brought them out without, that he saith, `Escape for thy life; look not expectingly behind thee, nor stand thou in all the circuit; to the mountain escape, lest thou be consumed.`
18 Ac meddai Lot, "Na! Nid felly, f'arglwydd;
18And Lot saith unto them, `Not [so], I pray thee, my lord;
19 dyma dy was wedi cael ffafr yn d'olwg, a gwnaethost drugaredd fawr mi yn arbed fy einioes; ond ni allaf ddianc i'r mynydd, rhag i'r niwed hwn fy ngoddiweddyd ac imi farw.
19lo, I pray thee, thy servant hath found grace in thine eyes, and thou dost make great thy kindness which thou hast done with me by saving my life, and I am unable to escape to the mountain, lest the evil cleave [to] me, and I have died;
20 Dacw ddinas agos i ffoi iddi, ac un fechan ydyw. Gad imi ddianc yno, imi gael byw; onid un fach yw hi?"
20lo, I pray thee, this city [is] near to flee thither, and it [is] little; let me escape, I pray thee, thither, (is it not little?) and my soul doth live.`
21 Atebodd yntau, "o'r gorau, caniatf y dymuniad hwn hefyd, ac ni ddinistriaf y ddinas a grybwyllaist.
21And he saith unto him, `Lo, I have accepted thy face also for this thing, without overthrowing the city [for] which thou hast spoken;
22 Dianc yno ar frys; oherwydd ni allaf wneud dim nes i ti gyrraedd yno." Am hynny, galwyd y ddinas Soar.
22haste, escape thither, for I am not able to do anything till thine entering thither;` therefore hath he calleth the name of the city Zoar.
23 Erbyn i Lot gyrraedd Soar, yr oedd yr haul wedi codi dros y tir;
23The sun hath gone out on the earth, and Lot hath entered into Zoar,
24 yna glawiodd yr ARGLWYDD frwmstan a thn dwyfol o'r nefoedd ar Sodom a Gomorra.
24and Jehovah hath rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from Jehovah, from the heavens;
25 Dinistriodd y dinasoedd hynny a'r holl wastadedd, a holl drigolion y dinasoedd, a chynnyrch y pridd.
25and He overthroweth these cities, and all the circuit, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which is shooting up from the ground.
26 Ond yr oedd gwraig Lot wedi edrych yn ei hl, a throdd yn golofn halen.
26And his wife looketh expectingly from behind him, and she is — a pillar of salt!
27 Aeth Abraham yn y bore bach i'r fan lle'r oedd wedi sefyll gerbron yr ARGLWYDD;
27And Abraham riseth early in the morning, unto the place where he hath stood [before] the face of Jehovah;
28 ac edrychodd i lawr ar Sodom a Gomorra ac ar holl dir y gwastadedd, a gwelodd fwg yn codi o'r tir fel mwg o ffwrn.
28and he looketh on the face of Sodom and Gomorrah, and on all the face of the land of the circuit, and seeth, and lo, the smoke of the land went up as smoke of the furnace.
29 Felly pan oedd Duw'n dinistrio dinasoedd y gwastadedd, yr oedd wedi cofio am Abraham, a phan oedd yn dinistrio'r dinasoedd y bu Lot yn trigo ynddynt, gyrrodd Lot allan o ganol y dinistr.
29And it cometh to pass, in God`s destroying the cities of the circuit, that God remembereth Abraham, and sendeth Lot out of the midst of the overthrow in the overthrowing of the cities in which Lot dwelt.
30 Yna aeth Lot i fyny o Soar i fyw yn y mynydd-dir gyda'i ddwy ferch, oherwydd yr oedd arno ofn aros yn Soar; a bu'n byw mewn ogof gyda'i ddwy ferch.
30And Lot goeth up out of Zoar, and dwelleth in the mountain, and his two daughters with him, for he hath been afraid of dwelling in Zoar, and he dwelleth in a cave, he and his two daughters.
31 Dywedodd yr hynaf wrth yr ieuengaf, "Y mae ein tad yn hen, ac nid oes u373?r yn y byd i ddod atom yn l arfer yr holl ddaear.
31And the first-born saith unto the younger, `Our father [is] old, and a man there is not in the earth to come in unto us, as [is] the way of all the earth;
32 Tyrd, rhown win i'n tad i'w yfed, a gorweddwn gydag ef, er mwyn inni gael epil o'n tad."
32come, we cause our father to drink wine, and lie with him, and preserve from our father — a seed.`
33 Felly y noson honno rhoesant win i'w tad i'w yfed; a daeth yr hynaf a gorwedd gyda'i thad, ac ni wyddai ef ddim pryd y gorweddodd hi, na phryd y cododd.
33And they cause their father to drink wine on that night; and the first-born goeth in, and lieth with her father, and he hath not known in her lying down, or in her rising up.
34 Trannoeth dywedodd yr hynaf wrth yr ieuengaf, "Dyna fi wedi gorwedd gyda'm tad neithiwr; gad inni roi gwin iddo i'w yfed eto heno, a dos dithau i orwedd gydag ef, er mwyn inni gael epil o'n tad."
34And it cometh to pass, on the morrow, that the first-born saith unto the younger, `Lo, I have lain yesterday-night with my father: we cause him to drink wine also to-night, and go thou in, lie with him, and we preserve from our father — a seed.`
35 Felly rhoesant win i'w tad i'w yfed y noson honno hefyd; ac aeth yr ieuengaf i orwedd gydag ef, ac ni wyddai ef ddim pryd y gorweddodd hi, na phryd y cododd.
35And they cause their father to drink wine on that night also, and the younger riseth and lieth with him, and he hath not known in her lying down, or in her rising up.
36 Felly y beichiogodd dwy ferch Lot o'u tad.
36And the two daughters of Lot conceive from their father,
37 Esgorodd yr hynaf ar fab, a'i enwi Moab; ef yw tad y Moabiaid presennol.
37and the first-born beareth a son, and calleth his name Moab; he [is] father of Moab unto this day;
38 Esgorodd yr ieuengaf hefyd ar fab, a'i enwi Ben-ammi; ef yw tad yr Ammoniaid presennol.
38as to the younger, she also hath born a son, and calleth his name Ben-Ammi: he [is] father of the Beni-Ammon unto this day.
