Genesis

43

1 Trymhaodd y newyn yn y wlad.
1And the famine [is] severe in the land;
2 Ac wedi iddynt fwyta'r u375?d a ddygwyd ganddynt o'r Aifft, dywedodd eu tad wrthynt, "Ewch yn l i brynu ychydig o fwyd i ni."
2and it cometh to pass, when they have finished eating the corn which they brought from Egypt, that their father saith unto them, `Turn back, buy for us a little food.`
3 Ond atebodd Jwda, "Rhybuddiodd y dyn ni'n ddifrifol gan ddweud, 'Ni chewch weld fy wyneb os na fydd eich brawd gyda chwi.'
3And Judah speaketh unto him, saying, `The man protesting protested to us, saying, Ye do not see my face without your brother [being] with you;
4 Os anfoni ein brawd gyda ni, fe awn i brynu bwyd i ti;
4if thou art sending our brother with us, we go down, and buy for thee food,
5 ond os nad anfoni ef, nid awn ni, oherwydd dywedodd y dyn wrthym, 'Ni chewch weld fy wyneb os na fydd eich brawd gyda chwi.'"
5and if thou art not sending — we do not go down, for the man said unto us, Ye do not see my face without your brother [being] with you.`
6 Dywedodd Israel, "Pam y gwnaethoch ddrwg i mi trwy ddweud wrth y dyn fod gennych frawd arall?"
6And Israel saith, `Why did ye evil to me, by declaring to the man that ye had yet a brother?`
7 Atebasant hwythau, "Holodd y dyn ni'n fanwl amdanom ein hunain a'n teulu, a gofyn, 'A yw eich tad eto'n fyw? A oes gennych frawd arall?' Wrth inni ei ateb, a allem ni ddirnad y dywedai ef, 'Dewch 'ch brawd yma'?"
7and they say, `The man asked diligently concerning us, and concerning our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have ye a brother? and we declare to him according to the tenor of these things; do we certainly know that he will say, Bring down your brother?`
8 Dywedodd Jwda wrth ei dad Israel, "Anfon y bachgen gyda mi, inni gael codi a mynd, er mwyn inni fyw ac nid marw, nyni a thithau a'n plant hefyd.
8And Judah saith unto Israel his father, `Send the youth with me, and we arise, and go, and live, and do not die, both we, and thou, and our infants.
9 Mi af fi yn feichiau drosto; mi fyddaf fi'n gyfrifol amdano. Os na ddof ag ef yn l atat a'i osod o'th flaen, yna byddaf yn euog yn dy olwg am byth.
9I — I am surety [for] him, from my hand thou dost require him; if I have not brought him in unto thee, and set him before thee — then I have sinned against thee all the days;
10 Pe baem heb oedi, byddem wedi dychwelyd ddwywaith erbyn hyn."
10for if we had not lingered, surely now we had returned these two times.`
11 Dywedodd eu tad Israel wrthynt, "Os oes rhaid, gwnewch hyn: cymerwch rai o ffrwythau gorau'r wlad yn eich paciau, a dygwch yn anrheg i'r dyn ychydig o falm ac ychydig o fl, glud pr, myrr, cnau ac almonau.
11And Israel their father saith unto them, `If so, now, this do: take of the praised thing of the land in your vessels, and take down to the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices and myrrh, nuts and almonds;
12 Cymerwch ddwbl yr arian, a dychwelwch yr arian a roddwyd yng ngenau eich sachau. Efallai mai camgymeriad oedd hynny.
12and double money take in your hand, even the money which is brought back in the mouth of your bags, ye take back in your hand, it may be it [is] an oversight.
13 Cymerwch hefyd eich brawd, ac ewch eto at y dyn;
13`And take your brother, and rise, turn back unto the man;
14 a rhodded Duw Hollalluog drugaredd i chwi gerbron y dyn, er mwyn iddo ollwng yn rhydd eich brawd arall a Benjamin. Os gwneir fi'n ddi-blant, derbyniaf hynny."
14and God Almighty give to you mercies before the man, so that he hath sent to you your other brother and Benjamin; and I, when I am bereaved — I am bereaved.`
15 Felly cymerodd y dynion yr anrheg a dwbl yr arian, a Benjamin gyda hwy, ac aethant ar eu taith i lawr i'r Aifft, a sefyll gerbron Joseff.
15And the men take this present, double money also they have taken in their hand, and Benjamin; and they rise, and go down to Egypt, and stand before Joseph;
16 Pan welodd Joseff fod Benjamin gyda hwy, dywedodd wrth swyddog ei du375?, "Dos 'r dynion i'r tu375?, a lladd anifail a gwna wledd, oherwydd bydd y dynion yn bwyta gyda mi ganol dydd."
16and Joseph seeth Benjamin with them, and saith to him who [is] over his house, `Bring the men into the house, and slaughter an animal, and make ready, for with me do the men eat at noon.`
17 Gwnaeth y swyddog fel y gorchmynnodd Joseff iddo, a daeth 'r dynion i du375? Joseff.
17And the man doth as Joseph hath said, and the man bringeth in the men into the house of Joseph,
18 Ond yr oedd ar y dynion ofn pan gymerwyd hwy i du375? Joseff, ac meddent, "Y maent wedi dod ni i mewn yma oherwydd yr arian a roddwyd yn l yn ein sachau y tro cyntaf. Byddant yn rhuthro ac yn ymosod arnom, a'n gwneud yn gaethion, a chipio ein hasynnod."
18and the men are afraid because they have been brought into the house of Joseph, and they say, `For the matter of the money which was put back in our bags at the commencement are we brought in — to roll himself upon us, and to throw himself on us, and to take us for servants — our asses also.`
19 Aethant at swyddog tu375? Joseff a siarad ag ef wrth ddrws y tu375?,
19And they come nigh unto the man who [is] over the house of Joseph, and speak unto him at the opening of the house,
20 a dweud, "Ein harglwydd, daethom i lawr o'r blaen i brynu bwyd;
20and say, `O, my lord, we really come down at the commencement to buy food;
21 wrth inni agor ein sachau yn y llety yr oedd arian pob un yn llawn yng ngenau ei sach. Yr ydym wedi dod hwy'n l gyda ni,
21and it cometh to pass, when we have come in unto the lodging-place, and open our bags, that lo, each one`s money [is] in the mouth of his bag, our money in its weight, and we bring it back in our hand;
22 ac y mae gennym arian eraill hefyd i brynu bwyd. Ni wyddom pwy a osododd ein harian yn ein sachau."
22and other money have we brought down in our hand to buy food; we have not known who put our money in our bags.`
23 Atebodd yntau, "Byddwch dawel, peidiwch ag ofni; eich Duw a Duw eich tad a guddiodd drysor i chwi yn eich sachau; derbyniais i eich arian." Yna daeth Simeon allan atynt.
23And he saith, `Peace to you, fear not: your God and the God of your father hath given to you hidden treasure in your bags, your money came unto me;` and he bringeth out Simeon unto them.
24 Wedi i'r swyddog fynd 'r dynion i du375? Joseff, rhoddodd ddu373?r iddynt i olchi eu traed, a rhoddodd fwyd i'w hasynnod.
24And the man bringeth in the men into Joseph`s house, and giveth water, and they wash their feet; and he giveth provender for their asses,
25 Gwnaethant eu hanrheg yn barod erbyn i Joseff ddod ganol dydd, am iddynt glywed mai yno y byddent yn cael bwyd.
25and they prepare the present until the coming of Joseph at noon, for they have heard that there they do eat bread.
26 Pan ddaeth Joseff i'r tu375?, dygasant ato yr anrheg oedd ganddynt, ac ymgrymu i'r llawr o'i flaen.
26And Joseph cometh into the house, and they bring to him the present which [is] in their hand, into the house, and bow themselves to him, to the earth;
27 Holodd yntau hwy am eu hiechyd, a gofyn, "A yw eich tad yn iawn, yr hen u373?r y buoch yn sn amdano? A yw'n dal yn fyw?"
27and he asketh of them of peace, and saith, `Is your father well? the aged man of whom ye have spoken, is he yet alive?`
28 Atebasant, "Y mae dy was, ein tad, yn fyw ac yn iach." A phlygasant eu pennau ac ymgrymu.
28and they say, `Thy servant our father [is] well, he is yet alive;` and they bow, and do obeisance.
29 Cododd yntau ei olwg a gweld ei frawd Benjamin, mab ei fam ef ei hun, a gofynnodd, "Ai dyma eich brawd ieuengaf, y buoch yn sn amdano?" A dywedodd wrtho, "Bydded Duw yn rasol wrthyt, fy mab."
29And he lifteth up his eyes, and seeth Benjamin his brother, his mother`s son, and saith, `Is this your young brother, of whom ye have spoken unto me?` and he saith, `God favour thee, my son.`
30 Yna brysiodd Joseff a chwilio am le i wylo, oherwydd cyffrowyd ei deimladau o achos ei frawd. Aeth i'w ystafell ac wylo yno.
30And Joseph hasteth, for his bowels have been moved for his brother, and he seeketh to weep, and entereth the inner chamber, and weepeth there;
31 Yna golchodd ei wyneb a daeth allan gan ymatal, a dywedodd, "Dewch 'r bwyd."
31and he washeth his face, and goeth out, and refraineth himself, and saith, `Place bread.`
32 Gosodwyd bwyd iddo ef ar wahn, ac iddynt hwy ar wahn, ac i'r Eifftiaid oedd yn bwyta gydag ef ar wahn; oherwydd ni allai'r Eifftiaid gydfwyta gyda'r Hebreaid, am fod hynny'n ffieidd-dra ganddynt.
32And they place for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians who are eating with him by themselves: for the Egyptians are unable to eat bread with the Hebrews, for it [is] an abomination to the Egyptians.
33 Yr oeddent yn eistedd o'i flaen, y cyntafanedig yn l ei flaenoriaeth a'r ieuengaf yn l ei ieuenctid; a rhyfeddodd y dynion ymysg ei gilydd.
33And they sit before him, the first-born according to his birthright, and the young one according to his youth, and the men wonder one at another;
34 Cododd Joseff seigiau iddynt o'i fwrdd ei hun, ac yr oedd cyfran Benjamin bum gwaith yn fwy na chyfran y lleill. Felly yfasant a bod yn llawen gydag ef.
34and he lifteth up gifts from before him unto them, and the gift of Benjamin is five hands more than the gifts of all of them; and they drink, yea, they drink abundantly with him.
