1 Clywch y gair a lefarodd yr ARGLWYDD wrthych, du375? Israel.
1Hear ye the word, O house of Israel, That Jehovah hath spoken for you.
2 Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: "Peidiwch dysgu ffordd y cenhedloedd, na chael eich dychryn gan arwyddion y nefoedd, fel y dychrynir y cenhedloedd ganddynt.
2Thus said Jehovah: Unto the way of the nations accustom not yourselves, And by the signs of the heavens be not affrighted, For the nations are affrighted by them.
3 Y mae arferion y bobloedd fel eilun  pren wedi ei gymynu o'r goedwig, gwaith dwylo saer  bwyell;
3For the statutes of the peoples are vanity, For a tree from a forest hath one cut, Work of the hands of an artificer, with an axe,
4 ac wedi iddynt ei harddu ag arian ac aur, y maent yn ei sicrhau morthwyl a hoelion, rhag iddo symud.
4With silver and with gold they beautify it, With nails and with hammers they fix it, And it doth not stumble.
5 Fel bwgan brain mewn gardd cucumerau, ni all eilunod lefaru; rhaid eu cludo am na allant gerdded. Peidiwch 'u hofni; ni allant wneud niwed, na gwneud da chwaith."
5As a palm they [are] stiff, and they speak not, They are surely borne, for they step not, Be not afraid of them, for they do no evil, Yea, also to do good is not in them.
6 Nid oes neb fel tydi, ARGLWYDD; mawr wyt, mawr yw dy enw mewn nerth.
6Because there is none like Thee, O Jehovah, Great [art] Thou, and great Thy name in might.
7 Pwy ni'th ofna, Frenin y cenhedloedd? Hyn sy'n gweddu i ti. Canys ymhlith holl ddoethion y cenhedloedd, ac ymysg eu holl deyrnasoedd, nid oes neb fel tydi.
7Who doth not fear Thee, king of the nations? For to Thee it is becoming, For among all the wise of the nations, And in all their kingdom there is none like Thee.
8 Y maent bob un yn ddwl ac ynfyd, wedi eu dysgu gan eilunod o bren!
8And in one they are brutish and foolish, An instruction of vanities [is] the tree itself.
9 Dygir arian gyr o Tarsis, ac aur o Uffas, gwaith y saer a dwylo'r eurych; a'u gwisg o ddeunydd fioled a phorffor gwaith crefftwyr ydyw i gyd.
9Spread-out silver from Tarshish is brought, And gold from Uphaz, Work of an artizan, and of the hands of a refiner, Blue and purple [is] their clothing, Work of the skilful — all of them.
10 Ond yr ARGLWYDD yw'r gwir Dduw; ef yw'r Duw byw a'r brenin tragwyddol; y mae'r ddaear yn crynu rhag ei lid, ac ni all y cenhedloedd ddioddef ei ddicter.
10And Jehovah [is] a God of truth, He [is] a living God, and a king age-during, From His wrath shake doth the earth, And nations endure not His indignation.
11 Fel hyn y dywedwch wrthynt: "Y duwiau na wnaethant y nefoedd a'r ddaear, fe gnt eu difa o'r ddaear ac oddi tan y nefoedd."
11Thus do ye say to them, The gods Who the heavens and earth have not made, They do perish from the earth, And from under these heavens.
12 Gwnaeth ef y ddaear trwy ei nerth, sicrhaodd y byd trwy ei ddoethineb, estynnodd y nefoedd trwy ei ddeall.
12The maker of the earth by His power, The establisher of the world by His wisdom, Who, by His understanding, stretched forth the heavens,
13 Pan rydd ei lais, daw twrf dyfroedd yn y nefoedd, fe bair godi tarth o eithafoedd y ddaear. Gwna fellt gyda'r glaw, a dwg allan wyntoedd o'i ystordai.
13At the voice He giveth forth, A multitude of waters [is] in the heavens, And He causeth vapours to come up from the end of the earth, Lightnings for rain He hath made, And bringeth out wind from His treasures.
14 Ynfyd yw pob un, a heb wybodaeth. Cywilyddir pob eurych gan ei eilun, canys celwydd yw ei ddelwau tawdd, ac nid oes anadl ynddynt.
14Brutish is every man by knowledge, Put to shame is every refiner by a graven image, For false [is] his molten image. And there is no breath in them.
15 Oferedd u375?nt, a gwaith i'w wawdio; yn amser eu cosbi fe'u difethir.
15Vanity [are] they, work of erring ones, In the time of their inspection they perish.
16 Nid yw Duw Jacob fel y rhain, oherwydd ef yw lluniwr pob peth, ac Israel yw ei lwyth dewisol. ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd yw ei enw.
16Not like these [is] the Portion of Jacob, For framer of all things [is] He, And Israel [is] the rod of His inheritance, Jehovah of Hosts [is] His name.
17 Casgla dy bwn a dos allan o'r wlad, ti, yr hon sy'n trigo dan warchae.
17Gather from the land thy merchandise, O dweller in the bulwark,
18 Canys fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: "Dyma fi'n taflu allan drigolion y wlad y tro hwn; dygaf arnynt gyfyngder, ac fe deimlant hynny."
18For thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am slinging out the inhabitants of the land at this time, And have been an adversary to them, So that they are found out.
19 Gwae fi am fy mriw! Y mae fy archoll yn ddwfn, ond dywedais, "Dyma ofid yn wir, a rhaid i mi ei oddef."
19Wo to me for my breaking, Grievious hath been my smiting, And I said, Only, this [is] my sickness, and I bear it.
20 Drylliwyd fy mhabell, torrwyd fy rhaffau i gyd; aeth fy mhlant oddi wrthyf, nid oes neb ohonynt mwy; nid oes neb a estyn fy mhabell eto, na chodi fy llenni.
20My tent hath been spoiled, And all my cords have been broken, My sons have gone out from me, and they are not, There is none stretching out any more my tent, And raising up my curtains.
21 Aeth y bugeiliaid yn ynfyd; nid ydynt yn ceisio'r ARGLWYDD; am hynny nid ydynt yn llwyddo, ac y mae eu holl braidd ar wasgar.
21For the shepherds have become brutish, And Jehovah they have not sought, Therefore they have not acted wisely, And all their flock is scattered.
22 Clyw! Neges! Wele, y mae'n dod! Cynnwrf mawr o dir y gogledd, i wneud dinasoedd Jwda yn ddiffeithwch ac yn drigfa bleiddiaid.
22A voice of a report, lo, it hath come, Even a great shaking from the north country, To make the cities of Judah a desolation, A habitation of dragons.
23 Gwn, O ARGLWYDD, nad eiddo neb ei ffordd; ni pherthyn i'r teithiwr drefnu ei gamre.
23I have known, O Jehovah, that not of man [is] his way, Not of man the going and establishing of his step.
24 Cosba fi, ARGLWYDD, ond mewn barn, nid yn l dy lid, rhag iti fy niddymu.
24Chastise me, O Jehovah, only in judgment, Not in Thine anger, lest Thou make me small.
25 Tywallt dy lid ar y cenhedloedd nad ydynt yn dy adnabod, ac ar y teuluoedd nad ydynt yn galw ar dy enw. Canys y maent wedi bwyta Jacob, ei fwyta a'i ddifetha, ac wedi difodi ei drigfan.
25Pour out Thy fury on the nations that have not known Thee, And on the families that have not called in Thy name, For they have eaten up Jacob, Yea, they have eaten him up, yea, they consume him, And his habitation they have made desolate!
