1 "Yn yr amser hwnnw," medd yr ARGLWYDD, "fe godir o'u beddau esgyrn brenhinoedd Jwda, esgyrn y tywysogion, esgyrn yr offeiriaid, esgyrn y proffwydi ac esgyrn trigolion Jerwsalem,
1At that time, an affirmation of Jehovah, They bring the bones of the kings of Judah, And the bones of its princes, And the bones of the priests, And the bones of the prophets, And the bones of inhabitants of Jerusalem, Out of their graves,
2 a'u taenu yn wyneb yr haul a'r lleuad a holl lu'r nefoedd y buont yn eu caru ac yn eu gwasanaethu, gan rodio ar eu hl ac ymofyn ganddynt a'u haddoli. Byddant heb eu casglu a heb eu claddu; byddant yn dom ar wyneb y ddaear.
2And have spread them to sun, and to moon, And to all the host of the heavens, that they have loved, And that they have served, And that they have walked after, And that they have sought, And to which they have bowed themselves, They are not gathered, nor buried, They are for dung on the face of the ground.
3 Bydd angau yn well nag einioes gan yr holl weddill a adewir o'r teulu drwg hwn ym mhob man y gyrrais hwy iddo," medd ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd.
3And chosen is death rather than life By all the remnant who are left of this evil family, In all the remaining places, whither I have driven them, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.
4 "Dywedi wrthynt, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Os cwympant, oni chyfodant? Os try un ymaith, oni ddychwel?
4And thou hast said unto them: Thus said Jehovah, Do they fall, and not rise? Doth he turn back, and not return?
5 Pam, ynteu, y trodd y bobl hyn ymaith, ac y parhaodd Jerwsalem i encilio? Glynasant wrth dwyll, gan wrthod dychwelyd.
5Wherefore hath this people of Jerusalem Turned back — a perpetual backsliding? They have kept hold on deceit, They have refused to turn back.
6 Cymerais sylw a gwrandewais, ond ni lefarodd neb yn uniawn; nid edifarhaodd neb am ei ddrygioni a dweud, "Beth a wneuthum?" Y mae pob un yn troi yn ei redfa, fel march cyn rhuthro i'r frwydr.
6I have given attention, yea, I hearken, They do not speak right, No man hath repented of his wickedness, Saying, What have I done? Every one hath turned to his courses, As a horse is rushing into battle.
7 Y mae'r cryr yn yr awyr yn adnabod ei dymor; y durtur a'r wennol a'r fronfraith yn cadw amser eu dyfod; ond nid yw fy mhobl yn gwybod trefn yr ARGLWYDD.
7Even a stork in the heavens hath known her seasons, And turtle, and swallow, and crane, Have watched the time of their coming, And — My people have not known the judgment of Jehovah.
8 Sut y dywedwch, "Yr ydym yn ddoeth, y mae cyfraith yr ARGLWYDD gyda ni"? Yn sicr, gwnaeth ysgrifbin celwyddog yr ysgrifennydd gelwydd ohoni.
8How do ye say, We [are] wise, And the law of Jehovah [is] with us? Surely, lo, falsely it hath wrought, The false pen of scribes.
9 Cywilyddiwyd y doeth, fe'u dychrynwyd ac fe'u daliwyd. Dyma hwy wedi gwrthod gair yr ARGLWYDD; pa ddoethineb sydd ganddynt felly?
9Ashamed have been the wise, They have been affrighted, and are captured, Lo, against a word of Jehovah they kicked, And the wisdom of what — have they?
10 "'Am hynny, rhof eu gwragedd i eraill, a'u meysydd i'w concwerwyr. Oherwydd o'r lleiaf hyd y mwyaf y mae pawb yn awchu am elw; o'r proffwyd i'r offeiriad y maent bob un yn gweithredu'n ffals.
10Therefore, I give their wives to others, Their fields to dispossessors, For from the least even unto the greatest, Every one is gaining dishonest gain, From prophet even unto priest, every one is dealing falsely.
11 Dim ond yn arwynebol y maent wedi iachu briw merch fy mhobl, gan ddweud, "Heddwch! Heddwch!" ac nid oes heddwch.
11And they heal the breach of the daughter of my people slightly, Saying, Peace, peace! and there is no peace.
12 A oes cywilydd arnynt pan wnnt ffieidd-dra? Dim cywilydd o gwbl! Ni allant wrido. Am hynny fe syrthiant gyda'r syrthiedig; yn nydd eu cosbi fe gwympant,' medd yr ARGLWYDD.
12They were ashamed when they did abomination! Yea, they are not at all ashamed, And blushing they have not known, Therefore, they do fall among falling ones, In the time of their inspection they stumble, said Jehovah.
13 "'Pan gasglwn hwy,' medd yr ARGLWYDD, 'nid oedd grawnwin ar y gwinwydd, na ffigys ar y ffigysbren; gwywodd y ddeilen, aeth heibio yr hyn a roddais iddynt.'"
13I utterly consume them, an affirmation of Jehovah, There are no grapes in the vine, Yea, there are no figs in the fig-tree, And the leaf hath faded, And the strength they have passeth from them.
14 Pam yr oedwn? Ymgasglwch ynghyd, inni fynd i'r dinasoedd caerog, a chael ein difetha yno. Canys yr ARGLWYDD ein Duw a barodd ein difetha; rhoes i ni ddu373?r gwenwynig i'w yfed, oherwydd pechasom yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD.
14Wherefore are we sitting still? Be gathered, and we go in to the fenced cities, And we are silent there, For Jehovah our God hath made us silent, Yea, He causeth us to drink water of gall, For we have sinned against Jehovah.
15 Disgwyl yr oeddem am heddwch, ond ni ddaeth daioni; am amser iachd, ond dychryn a ddaeth.
15Looking for peace — and there is no good, For a time of healing, and lo, terror.
16 Clywir ei feirch yn ffroeni o wlad Dan; crynodd yr holl ddaear gan drwst ei stalwyni'n gweryru. Daethant gan ysu'r tir a'i lawnder, y ddinas a'r rhai oedd yn trigo ynddi.
16From Dan hath been heard the snorting of his horses, From the voice of the neighings of his mighty ones, Trembled hath all the land, And they come in and consume the land and its fulness, The city and the inhabitants in it.
17 "Dyma fi'n anfon seirff i'ch mysg, gwiberod na ellir eu swyno, ac fe'ch brathant," medd yr ARGLWYDD.
17For, lo, I am sending among you serpents, Vipers that have no charmer, And they have bitten you, an affirmation of Jehovah.
18 Y mae fy ngofid y tu hwnt i wellhad, a'm calon wedi clafychu.
18My refreshing for me [is] sorrow, For me my heart [is] sick.
19 Clyw! Cri merch fy mhobl o wlad bellennig: "Onid yw'r ARGLWYDD yn Seion? Onid yw ei brenin ynddi?" "Pam y maent yn fy nigio 'u delwau, 'u heilunod estron?"
19Lo, the voice of a cry of the daughter of my people from a land afar off, Is Jehovah not in Zion? is her king not in her? Wherefore have they provoked Me with their graven images, With the vanities of a foreigner?
20 "Aeth y cynhaeaf heibio, darfu'r haf, a ninnau heb ein hachub."
20Harvest hath passed, summer hath ended, And we — we have not been saved.
21 Oherwydd briw merch fy mhobl yr wyf finnau wedi fy mriwo, wedi galaru, ac wedi fy nal gan syndod.
21For a breach of the daughter of my people have I been broken, I have been black, astonishment hath seized me.
22 Onid oes balm yn Gilead? Onid oes yno ffisigwr? Pam, ynteu, nad yw iechyd merch fy mhobl yn gwella?
22Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? For wherefore hath not the health of the daughter of my people gone up?
