¹ Ond aeth Iesu i Fynydd yr Olewydd.

¹And at dawn he came again to the temple,

² Yn y bore bach daeth eto i'r deml, ac yr oedd y bobl i gyd yn dod ato. Wedi iddo eistedd a dechrau eu dysgu,

²and all the people were coming unto him, and having sat down, he was teaching them;

³ dyma'r ysgrifenyddion a'r Phariseaid yn dod � gwraig ato oedd wedi ei dal mewn godineb, a'i rhoi i sefyll yn y canol.

³and the scribes and the Pharisees bring unto him a woman having been taken in adultery, and having set her in the midst,

⁴ "Athro," meddent wrtho, "y mae'r wraig hon wedi ei dal yn y weithred o odinebu.

⁴they say to him, `Teacher, this woman was taken in the very crime — committing adultery,

⁵ Gorchmynnodd Moses yn y Gyfraith i ni labyddio gwragedd o'r fath. Beth sydd gennyt ti i'w ddweud?"

⁵and in the law, Moses did command us that such be stoned; thou, therefore, what dost thou say?`

⁶ Dweud hyn yr oeddent er mwyn rhoi prawf arno, a chael cyhuddiad i'w ddwyn yn ei erbyn. Plygodd Iesu i lawr ac ysgrifennu ar y llawr �'i fys.

⁶and this they said, trying him, that they might have to accuse him. And Jesus, having stooped down, with the finger he was writing on the ground,

⁷ Ond gan eu bod yn dal ati i ofyn y cwestiwn iddo, ymsythodd ac meddai wrthynt, "Pwy bynnag ohonoch sy'n ddibechod, gadewch i hwnnw fod yn gyntaf i daflu carreg ati."

⁷and when they continued asking him, having bent himself back, he said unto them, `The sinless of you — let him first cast the stone at her;`

⁸ Yna plygodd eto ac ysgrifennu ar y llawr.

⁸and again having stooped down, he was writing on the ground,

⁹ A dechreuodd y rhai oedd wedi clywed fynd allan, un ar �l y llall, y rhai hynaf yn gyntaf, nes i Iesu gael ei adael ar ei ben ei hun, a'r wraig yno yn y canol.

⁹and they having heard, and by the conscience being convicted, were going forth one by one, having begun from the elders — unto the last; and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

¹⁰ Ymsythodd Iesu a gofyn iddi, "Wraig, ble maent? Onid oes neb wedi dy gondemnio?"

¹⁰And Jesus having bent himself back, and having seen no one but the woman, said to her, `Woman, where are those — thine accusers? did no one pass sentence upon thee?`

¹¹ Meddai hithau, "Neb, syr." Ac meddai Iesu, "Nid wyf finnau'n dy gondemnio chwaith. Dos, ac o hyn allan paid � phechu mwyach."

¹¹and she said, `No one, Sir;` and Jesus said to her, `Neither do I pass sentence on thee; be going on, and no more sin.`

¹² Yna llefarodd Iesu wrthynt eto. "Myfi yw goleuni'r byd," meddai. "Ni bydd neb sy'n fy nghanlyn i byth yn rhodio yn y tywyllwch, ond bydd ganddo oleuni'r bywyd."

¹²Again, therefore, Jesus spake to them, saying, `I am the light of the world; he who is following me shall not walk in the darkness, but he shall have the light of the life.`

¹³ Meddai'r Phariseaid wrtho, "Tystiolaethu amdanat dy hun yr wyt ti; nid yw dy dystiolaeth yn wir."

¹³The Pharisees, therefore, said to him, `Thou of thyself dost testify, thy testimony is not true;`

¹⁴ Atebodd Iesu hwy, "Er mai myfi sydd yn tystiolaethu amdanaf fy hun, y mae fy nhystiolaeth yn wir am fy mod yn gwybod o ble y deuthum ac i ble'r wyf yn mynd. Ond ni wyddoch chwi o ble'r wyf yn dod nac i ble'r wyf yn mynd.

¹⁴Jesus answered and said to them, `And if I testify of myself — my testimony is true, because I have known whence I came, and whither I go, and ye — ye have not known whence I come, or whither I go.

¹⁵ Yr ydych chwi'n barnu yn �l safonau dynol. Minnau, nid wyf yn barnu neb,

¹⁵`Ye according to the flesh do judge; I do not judge any one,

¹⁶ ac os byddaf yn barnu y mae'r farn a roddaf yn ddilys, oherwydd nid myfi yn unig sy'n barnu, ond myfi a'r Tad a'm hanfonodd i.

¹⁶and even if I do judge my judgment is true, because I am not alone, but I and the Father who sent me;

¹⁷ Y mae'n ysgrifenedig yn eich Cyfraith chwi fod tystiolaeth dau ddyn yn wir.

¹⁷and also in your law it hath been written, that the testimony of two men are true;

¹⁸ Myfi yw'r un sydd yn tystiolaethu amdanaf fy hun, ac y mae'r Tad a'm hanfonodd i hefyd yn tystiolaethu amdanaf."

¹⁸I am [one] who is testifying of myself, and the Father who sent me doth testify of me.`

¹⁹ Yna meddent wrtho, "Ble mae dy Dad di?" Atebodd Iesu, "Nid ydych yn fy adnabod i na'm Tad; pe baech yn fy adnabod i, byddech yn adnabod fy Nhad hefyd."

¹⁹They said, therefore, to him, `Where is thy father?` Jesus answered, `Ye have neither known me nor my Father: if me ye had known, my Father also ye had known.`

²⁰ Llefarodd y geiriau hyn yn y trysordy, wrth ddysgu yn y deml. Ond ni afaelodd neb ynddo, oherwydd nid oedd ei awr wedi dod eto.

²⁰These sayings spake Jesus in the treasury, teaching in the temple, and no one seized him, because his hour had not yet come;

²¹ Dywedodd wrthynt wedyn, "Yr wyf fi'n ymadael � chwi. Fe chwiliwch amdanaf fi, ond byddwch farw yn eich pechod. Lle'r wyf fi'n mynd, ni allwch chwi ddod."

²¹therefore said Jesus again to them, `I go away, and ye will seek me, and in your sin ye shall die; whither I go away, ye are not able to come.`

²² Meddai'r Iddewon felly, "A yw'n mynd i'w ladd ei hun, gan ei fod yn dweud, 'Lle'r wyf fi'n mynd, ni allwch chwi ddod'?"

²²The Jews, therefore, said, `Will he kill himself, because he saith, Whither I go away, ye are not able to come?`

²³ Meddai Iesu wrthynt, "Yr ydych chwi oddi isod, yr wyf fi oddi uchod. Yr ydych chwi o'r byd hwn, nid wyf fi o'r byd hwn.

²³and he said to them, `Ye are from beneath, I am from above; ye are of this world, I am not of this world;

²⁴ Dyna pam y dywedais wrthych y byddwch farw yn eich pechodau; oherwydd marw yn eich pechodau a wnewch, os na chredwch mai myfi yw."

²⁴I said, therefore, to you, that ye shall die in your sins, for if ye may not believe that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.`

²⁵ Gofynasant iddo felly, "Pwy wyt ti?" Atebodd Iesu hwy, "Yr wyf o'r dechrau yr hyn yr wyf yn ei ddweud wrthych.

²⁵They said, therefore, to him, `Thou — who art thou?` and Jesus said to them, `Even what I did speak of to you at the beginning;

²⁶ Gallwn ddweud llawer amdanoch, a hynny mewn barn. Ond y mae'r hwn a'm hanfonodd i yn eirwir, a'r hyn a glywais ganddo ef yw'r hyn yr wyf yn ei gyhoeddi i'r byd."

²⁶many things I have to speak concerning you and to judge, but He who sent me is true, and I — what things I heard from Him — these I say to the world.`

²⁷ Nid oeddent hwy'n deall mai am y Tad yr oedd yn llefaru wrthynt.

²⁷They knew not that of the Father he spake to them;

²⁸ Felly dywedodd Iesu wrthynt, "Pan fyddwch wedi dyrchafu Mab y Dyn byddwch yn gwybod mai myfi yw, ac nad wyf yn gwneud dim ohonof fy hun, ond fy mod yn dweud yr union bethau y mae'r Tad wedi eu dysgu imi.

²⁸Jesus, therefore, said to them, `When ye may lift up the Son of Man then ye will know that I am [he]; and of myself I do nothing, but according as my Father did teach me, these things I speak;

²⁹ Ac y mae'r hwn a'm hanfonodd i gyda mi; nid yw wedi fy ngadael ar fy mhen fy hun, oherwydd yr wyf bob amser yn gwneud y pethau sydd wrth ei fodd ef."

²⁹and He who sent me is with me; the Father did not leave me alone, because I, the things pleasing to Him, do always.`

³⁰ Wrth iddo ddweud hyn, daeth llawer i gredu ynddo.

³⁰As he is speaking these things, many believed in him;

³¹ Yna dywedodd Iesu wrth yr Iddewon oedd wedi credu ynddo, "Os arhoswch chwi yn fy ngair i, yr ydych mewn gwirionedd yn ddisgyblion i mi.

³¹Jesus, therefore, said unto the Jews who believed in him, `If ye may remain in my word, truly my disciples ye are, and ye shall know the truth,

³² Cewch wybod y gwirionedd, a bydd y gwirionedd yn eich rhyddhau."

³²and the truth shall make you free.`

³³ Atebasant ef, "Plant Abraham ydym ni, ac ni buom erioed yn gaethweision i neb. Sut y gelli di ddweud, 'Fe'ch gwneir yn rhyddion'?"

³³They answered him, `Seed of Abraham we are; and to no one have we been servants at any time; how dost thou say — Ye shall become free?`

³⁴ Atebodd Iesu hwy, "Yn wir, yn wir, rwy'n dweud wrthych fod pob un sy'n cyflawni pechod yn gaethwas i bechod.

³⁴Jesus answered them, `Verily, verily, I say to you — Every one who is committing sin, is a servant of the sin,

³⁵ Ac nid oes gan y caethwas le arhosol yn y tu375?, ond y mae'r mab yn aros am byth.

³⁵and the servant doth not remain in the house — to the age, the son doth remain — to the age;

³⁶ Felly os yw'r Mab yn eich rhyddhau chwi, byddwch yn rhydd mewn gwirionedd.

³⁶if then the son may make you free, in reality ye shall be free.

³⁷ Rwy'n gwybod mai plant Abraham ydych. Ond yr ydych yn ceisio fy lladd i am nad yw fy ngair i yn cael lle ynoch.

³⁷`I have known that ye are seed of Abraham, but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you;

³⁸ Yr wyf fi'n siarad am y pethau yr wyf wedi eu gweld gyda'm Tad, ac yr ydych chwi'n gwneud y pethau a glywsoch gan eich tad."

³⁸I — that which I have seen with my Father do speak, and ye, therefore, that which ye have seen with your father — ye do.`

³⁹ Atebasant ef, "Abraham yw ein tad ni." Meddai Iesu wrthynt, "Pe baech yn blant i Abraham, byddech yn gwneud yr un gweithredoedd ag Abraham.

³⁹They answered and said to him, `Our father is Abraham;` Jesus saith to them, `If children of Abraham ye were, the works of Abraham ye were doing;

⁴⁰ Ond dyma chwi yn awr yn ceisio fy lladd i, dyn sydd wedi llefaru wrthych y gwirionedd a glywais gan Dduw. Ni wnaeth Abraham mo hynny.

⁴⁰and now, ye seek to kill me — a man who hath spoken to you the truth I heard from God; this Abraham did not;

⁴¹ Gwneud gweithredoedd eich tad eich hunain yr ydych chwi." "Nid plant puteindra mohonom ni," meddent wrtho. "Un Tad sydd gennym, sef Duw."

⁴¹ye do the works of your father.` They said, therefore, to him, `We of whoredom have not been born; one Father we have — God;`

⁴² Meddai Iesu wrthynt, "Petai Duw yn dad i chwi, byddech yn fy ngharu i, oherwydd oddi wrth Dduw y deuthum allan a dod yma. Nid wyf wedi dod ohonof fy hun, ond ef a'm hanfonodd.

⁴²Jesus then said to them, `If God were your father, ye were loving me, for I came forth from God, and am come; for neither have I come of myself, but He sent me;

⁴³ Pam nad ydych yn deall yr hyn yr wyf yn ei ddweud? Am nad ydych yn gallu gwrando ar fy ngair i.

⁴³wherefore do ye not know my speech? because ye are not able to hear my word.

⁴⁴ Plant ydych chwi i'ch tad, y diafol, ac yr ydych �'ch bryd ar gyflawni dymuniadau eich tad. Llofrudd oedd ef o'r cychwyn; nid yw'n sefyll yn y gwirionedd, oherwydd nid oes dim gwirionedd ynddo. Pan fydd yn dweud celwydd, datguddio'i natur ei hun y mae, oherwydd un celwyddog yw ef, a thad pob celwydd.

⁴⁴`Ye are of a father — the devil, and the desires of your father ye will to do; he was a man-slayer from the beginning, and in the truth he hath not stood, because there is no truth in him; when one may speak the falsehood, of his own he speaketh, because he is a liar — also his father.

⁴⁵ Ond yr wyf fi'n dweud y gwirionedd, ac am hynny nid ydych yn fy nghredu.

⁴⁵`And because I say the truth, ye do not believe me.

⁴⁶ Pwy ohonoch chwi sydd am brofi fy mod i'n euog o bechod? Os wyf yn dweud y gwir, pam nad ydych chwi yn fy nghredu?

⁴⁶Who of you doth convict me of sin? and if I speak truth, wherefore do ye not believe me?

⁴⁷ Y mae'r sawl sydd o Dduw yn gwrando geiriau Duw. Nid ydych chwi o Dduw, a dyna pam nad ydych yn gwrando."

⁴⁷he who is of God, the sayings of God he doth hear; because of this ye do not hear, because of God ye are not.`

⁴⁸ Atebodd yr Iddewon ef, "Onid ydym ni'n iawn wrth ddweud, 'Samariad wyt ti, ac y mae cythraul ynot'?"

⁴⁸The Jews, therefore, answered and said to him, `Do we not say well, that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a demon?`

⁴⁹ Atebodd Iesu, "Nid oes cythraul ynof; parchu fy Nhad yr wyf fi, a chwithau'n fy amharchu i.

⁴⁹Jesus answered, `I have not a demon, but I honour my Father, and ye dishonour me;

⁵⁰ Nid wyf fi'n ceisio fy ngogoniant fy hun, ond y mae un sydd yn ei geisio, ac ef sy'n barnu.

⁵⁰and I do not seek my own glory; there is who is seeking and is judging;

⁵¹ Yn wir, yn wir, rwy'n dweud wrthych, os bydd rhywun yn cadw fy ngair i, ni w�l farwolaeth byth."

⁵¹verily, verily, I say to you, If any one may keep my word, death he may not see — to the age.`

⁵² Meddai'r Iddewon wrtho, "Yr ydym yn gwybod yn awr fod cythraul ynot. Bu Abraham farw, a'r proffwydi hefyd, a dyma ti'n dweud, 'Os bydd rhywun yn cadw fy ngair i, ni chaiff brofi blas marwolaeth byth.'

⁵²The Jews, therefore, said to him, `Now we have known that thou hast a demon; Abraham did die, and the prophets, and thou dost say, If any one may keep my word, he shall not taste of death — to the age!

⁵³ A wyt ti'n fwy na'n tad ni, Abraham? Bu ef farw, a bu'r proffwydi farw. Pwy yr wyt ti'n dy gyfrif dy hun?"

⁵³Art thou greater than our father Abraham, who died? and the prophets died; whom dost thou make thyself?`

⁵⁴ Atebodd Iesu, "Os fy ngogoneddu fy hun yr wyf fi, nid yw fy ngogoniant yn ddim. Fy Nhad sydd yn fy ngogoneddu, yr un yr ydych chwi'n dweud amdano, 'Ef yw ein Duw ni.'

⁵⁴Jesus answered, `If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing; it is my Father who is glorifying me, of whom ye say that He is your God;

⁵⁵ Nid ydych yn ei adnabod, ond yr wyf fi'n ei adnabod. Pe bawn yn dweud nad wyf yn ei adnabod, byddwn yn gelwyddog fel chwithau. Ond yr wyf yn ei adnabod, ac yr wyf yn cadw ei air ef.

⁵⁵and ye have not known Him, and I have known Him, and if I say that I have not known Him, I shall be like you — speaking falsely; but I have known Him, and His word I keep;

⁵⁶ Gorfoleddu a wnaeth eich tad Abraham o weld fy nydd i; fe'i gwelodd, a llawenhau."

⁵⁶Abraham, your father, was glad that he might see my day; and he saw, and did rejoice.`

⁵⁷ Yna meddai'r Iddewon wrtho, "Nid wyt ti'n hanner cant oed eto. A wyt ti wedi gweld Abraham?"

⁵⁷The Jews, therefore, said unto him, `Thou art not yet fifty years old, and Abraham hast thou seen?`

⁵⁸ Dywedodd Iesu wrthynt, "Yn wir, yn wir, rwy'n dweud wrthych, cyn geni Abraham, yr wyf fi."

⁵⁸Jesus said to them, `Verily, verily, I say to you, Before Abraham`s coming — I am;`

⁵⁹ Yna codasant gerrig i'w taflu ato. Ond aeth Iesu o'u golwg, ac allan o'r deml.

⁵⁹they took up, therefore, stones that they may cast at him, but Jesus hid himself, and went forth out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
