Joshua

1

1 Wedi marw Moses gwas yr ARGLWYDD, dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Josua fab Nun, a fu'n gweini ar Moses,
1And it cometh to pass after the death of Moses, servant of Jehovah, that Jehovah speaketh unto Joshua son of Nun, minister of Moses, saying,
2 "Y mae fy ngwas Moses wedi marw; yn awr, croesa di a'r holl bobl hyn yr Iorddonen yma i'r wlad yr wyf fi'n ei rhoi i blant Israel.
2`Moses my servant is dead, and now, rise, pass over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.
3 Rhof i chwi bob llecyn y bydd gwadn eich troed yn cerdded drosto, fel y dywedais wrth Moses.
3`Every place on which the sole of your foot treadeth, to you I have given it, as I have spoken unto Moses.
4 Bydd eich terfyn yn ymestyn o'r anialwch a Lebanon hyd at yr afon fawr, afon Ewffrates, sef holl wlad yr Hethiaid, hyd at y Mr Mawr yn y gorllewin.
4From this wilderness and Lebanon, and unto the great river, the river Phrath, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great Sea — the going in of the sun — is your border.
5 Ni saif neb o'th flaen tra byddi byw; byddaf gyda thi fel y bm gyda Moses; ni'th adawaf na chefnu arnat.
5`No man doth station himself before thee all days of thy life; as I have been with Moses, I am with thee, I do not fail thee, nor forsake thee;
6 Bydd yn gryf a dewr; oherwydd ti fydd yn rhoi i'r bobl hyn feddiant o'r wlad yr addewais ei rhoi i'w hynafiaid.
6be strong and courageous, for thou — thou dost cause this people to inherit the land which I have sworn to their fathers to give to them.
7 Yn unig bydd yn gryf a dewr iawn, a gofala weithredu yn l yr holl gyfraith a orchmynnodd fy ngwas Moses iti. Paid gwyro oddi wrthi i'r dde na'r chwith, er mwyn iti ffynnu ple bynnag yr ei.
7`Only, be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded thee; thou dost not turn aside from it right or left, so that thou dost act wisely in every [place] whither thou goest;
8 Nid yw'r llyfr cyfraith hwn i adael dy enau; yr wyt i fyfyrio ynddo ddydd a nos, er mwyn iti ofalu gwneud y cyfan sy'n ysgrifenedig ynddo. Yna byddi'n llwyddo yn dy ffyrdd ac yn ffynnu.
8the book of this law doth not depart out of thy mouth, and thou hast meditated in it by day and by night, so that thou dost observe to do according to all that is written in it, for then thou dost cause thy way to prosper, and then thou dost act wisely.
9 Onid wyf wedi gorchymyn iti: bydd yn gryf a dewr? Paid ag arswydo na dychryn, oherwydd yr wyf fi, yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw, gyda thi ple bynnag yr ei."
9`Have not I commanded thee? be strong and courageous; be not terrified nor affrighted, for with thee [is] Jehovah thy God in every [place] whither thou goest.`
10 Dywedodd Josua wrth swyddogion y bobl
10And Joshua commandeth the authorities of the people, saying,
11 am fynd trwy ganol y gwersyll, a gorchymyn i'r bobl, "Darparwch ichwi luniaeth, oherwydd o fewn tridiau byddwch yn croesi'r Iorddonen ar y ffordd i feddiannu'r wlad y mae'r ARGLWYDD eich Duw yn ei rhoi'n etifeddiaeth i chwi."
11`Pass over into the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare for yourselves provision, for within three days ye are passing over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which Jehovah your God is giving to you to possess it.`
12 Ac wrth Reuben a Gad a hanner llwyth Manasse, dywedodd Josua,
12And to the Reubenite, and to the Gadite, and to the half of the tribe of Manasseh, hath Joshua spoken, saying,
13 "Cofiwch beth a orchmynnodd Moses gwas yr ARGLWYDD ichwi, fod yr ARGLWYDD eich Duw yn rhoi diogelwch ichwi yma, ac yn rhoi'r wlad hon i chwi.
13`Remember the word which Moses, servant of Jehovah, commanded you, saying, Jehovah your God is giving rest to you, and He hath given to you this land;
14 Caiff eich gwragedd, eich plant a'ch anifeiliaid aros yn y wlad a roddodd Moses ichwi y tu hwnt i'r Iorddonen; ond y mae pob milwr o'ch plith i fynd trosodd yn llu arfog o flaen eich perthnasau i'w cynorthwyo,
14your wives, your infants, and your substance, abide in the land which Moses hath given to you beyond the Jordan, and ye — ye pass over by fifties, before your brethren, all the mighty ones of valour, and have helped them,
15 nes y bydd yr ARGLWYDD wedi rhoi diogelwch i'ch perthnasau fel i chwi, a hwythau'n cael meddiant o'r wlad y mae'r ARGLWYDD eich Duw yn ei rhoi iddynt; yna cewch ddychwelyd a meddiannu'r wlad a roddodd Moses gwas yr ARGLWYDD yn etifeddiaeth i chwi i'r dwyrain o'r Iorddonen."
15till that Jehovah giveth rest to your brethren as to yourselves, and they have possessed, even they, the land which Jehovah your God is giving to them; then ye have turned back to the land of your possession, and have possessed it, which Moses, servant of Jehovah, hath given to you beyond the Jordan, [at] the sun-rising.`
16 Dyma'u hateb i Josua: "Fe wnawn beth bynnag yr wyt yn ei orchymyn inni, a mynd i ble bynnag yr anfoni ni;
16And they answer Joshua, saying, `All that thou hast commanded us we do; and unto every [place] whither thou dost send us, we go;
17 ufuddhawn i ti ym mhopeth fel y gwnaethom i Moses, dim ond i'r ARGLWYDD dy Dduw fod gyda thi fel y bu gyda Moses.
17according to all that we hearkened unto Moses [in], so we hearken unto thee; surely Jehovah thy God is with thee as He hath been with Moses.
18 Rhodder i farwolaeth bwy bynnag fydd yn anufuddhau i'th air ac yn gwrthod gwrando ar unrhyw beth a orchmynni. Yn unig bydd yn gryf a dewr."
18Any man who doth provoke thy mouth, and doth not hear thy words, in all that thou dost command him, is put to death; only, be strong and courageous.`
