Joshua

14

1 Dyma'r tiroedd a gafodd yr Israeliaid yn etifeddiaeth yng ngwlad Canaan oddi ar law yr offeiriad Eleasar, a Josua fab Nun, a'r pennau-teuluoedd ymysg llwythau'r Israeliaid.
1And these [are] they [of] the sons of Israel who inherited in the land of Canaan, whom Eleazar the priest, and Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel, caused to inherit;
2 Trwy fwrw coelbren y rhoddwyd eu hetifeddiaeth i'r naw llwyth a hanner, fel y gorchmynnodd yr ARGLWYDD drwy Moses;
2by lot [is] their inheritance, as Jehovah commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine of the tribes, and the half of the tribe;
3 oherwydd yr oedd Moses wedi rhoi eu hetifeddiaeth i'r ddau lwyth a hanner y tu hwnt i'r Iorddonen. Ond ni roddodd etifeddiaeth yn eu plith i'r Lefiaid.
3for Moses hath given the inheritance of two of the tribes, and of half of the tribe, beyond the Jordan, and to the Levites he hath not given an inheritance in their midst;
4 Yr oedd disgynyddion Joseff yn ddau lwyth, Manasse ac Effraim. Ni roddwyd cyfran yn y tir i'r Lefiaid ac eithrio trefi i fyw ynddynt a phorfeydd ar gyfer eu gyrroedd a'u preiddiau.
4for the sons of Joseph hath been two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim, and they have not given a portion to the Levites in the land, except cities to dwell in, and their suburbs for their cattle, and for their possessions;
5 Rhannodd yr Israeliaid y tir yn union fel yr oedd yr ARGLWYDD wedi gorchymyn i Moses.
5as Jehovah commanded Moses, so have the sons of Israel done, and they apportion the land.
6 Daeth llwyth Jwda gerbron Josua yn Gilgal, a dywedodd Caleb fab Jeffunne'r Cenesiad wrtho, "Gwyddost yr hyn a ddywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Moses gu373?r Duw amdanom ni'n dau yn Cades-barnea.
6And the sons of Judah come nigh unto Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezzite saith unto him, `Thou hast known the word that Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses the man of God, concerning me and concerning thee in Kadesh-Barnea:
7 Deugain oed oeddwn i pan anfonodd Moses gwas yr ARGLWYDD fi o Cades-barnea i ysbo'r wlad. Deuthum ag adroddiad diragfarn yn l iddo.
7a son of forty years [am] I in Moses, servant of Jehovah, sending me from Kadesh-Barnea, to spy the land, and I bring him back word as with my heart;
8 Er bod fy nghymdeithion wedi digalonni'r bobl, fe lwyr ddilynais i yr ARGLWYDD fy Nuw;
8and my brethren who have gone up with me have caused the heart of the people to melt, and I have been fully after Jehovah my God;
9 ac fe addawodd Moses imi y diwrnod hwnnw: 'Yn sicr, etifeddiaeth i ti ac i'th blant am byth fydd y tir y bydd dy droed yn sangu arno, am iti lwyr ddilyn yr ARGLWYDD, fy Nuw.'
9and Moses sweareth in that day, saying, If not — the land on which thy foot hath trodden, to thee it is for inheritance, and to thy sons — to the age, for thou hast been fully after Jehovah my God.
10 Yn awr, dyma'r ARGLWYDD wedi f'arbed, fel yr addawodd, dros y pum mlynedd a deugain hyn er pan lefarodd yr ARGLWYDD yr addewid hon wrth Moses, pan oedd Israel yn rhodio'r anialwch; a dyma fi heddiw yn bump a phedwar ugain oed.
10`And, now, lo, Jehovah hath kept me alive, as He hath spoken, these forty and five years, since Jehovah spake this word unto Moses, when Israel went in the wilderness; and now, lo, I [am] to-day a son of five and eighty years;
11 Yr wyf mor gryf heddiw ag ar y diwrnod yr anfonodd Moses fi; y mae fy nerth cystal yn awr 'r adeg honno i ryfela ac i arwain byddin.
11yet [am] I to-day strong as in the day of Moses` sending me; as my power then, so [is] my power now, for battle, and to go out, and to come in.
12 Felly rho imi'n awr y mynydd-dir hwn a addawodd yr ARGLWYDD y pryd hwnnw; oherwydd fe glywaist ti dy hun yr adeg honno fod Anacim yno, a bod eu dinasoedd yn rhai mawr a chaerog; ond odid na fydd yr ARGLWYDD gyda mi, ac fe'u gyrraf hwy allan, fel yr addawodd yr ARGLWYDD."
12`And now, give to me this hill-country, of which Jehovah spake in that day, for thou didst hear in that day, for Anakim [are] there, and cities, great, fenced; if so be Jehovah [is] with me, then I have dispossessed them, as Jehovah hath spoken.`
13 Bendithiodd Josua ef a rhoddodd Hebron yn etifeddiaeth i Caleb fab Jeffunne.
13And Joshua blesseth him, and giveth Hebron to Caleb son of Jephunneh for an inheritance,
14 Dyna pam y mae Hebron yn feddiant i Caleb fab Jeffunne'r Cenesiad hyd heddiw, am, iddo lwyr ddilyn yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Israel.
14therefore hath Hebron been to Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezzite for an inheritance unto this day, because that he was fully after Jehovah, God of Israel;
15 Enw Hebron gynt oedd Ciriath-arba, ar l Arba, prif ddyn yr Anacim. A chafodd y wlad lonydd rhag rhyfel.
15and the name of Hebron formerly [is] Kirjath-Arba (he [is] the great man among the Anakim); and the land hath rest from war.
