Zechariah

1

1 Yn yr wythfed mis o ail flwyddyn Dareius, daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD at y proffwyd Sechareia fab Beracheia, fab Ido, a dweud,
1In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, hath a word of Jehovah been unto Zechariah, son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, the prophet, saying:
2 "Digiodd yr ARGLWYDD yn fawr wrth eich hynafiaid.
2`Jehovah was wroth against your fathers — wrath!
3 Dywed wrthynt, 'Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd: Dychwelwch ataf fi,' medd ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd, 'a dychwelaf finnau atoch chwi,' medd ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd.
3And thou hast said unto them, Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, turn back unto Me, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts, And I turn back unto you, said Jehovah of Hosts.
4 'Peidiwch bod fel eich hynafiaid, y galwodd y proffwydi gynt arnynt, a dweud, Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd: Trowch oddi wrth eich ffyrdd drygionus a'ch gweithredoedd drygionus, ond ni wrandawsant na rhoi sylw imi,' medd yr ARGLWYDD.
4Ye shall not be as your fathers, To whom the former prophets called, saying: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Turn back I pray you, From your evil ways and from your evil doings, And they did not hearken, Nor attend to Me — an affirmation of Jehovah.
5 'Eich hynafiaid ple maent? A'r proffwydi a ydynt i fyw am byth?
5Your fathers — where [are] they? And the prophets — to the age do they live?
6 Ond y geiriau a'r deddfau a orchmynnais i'm gweision y proffwydi oni ddaethant ar eich hynafiaid? A ddychwelasant hwy a dweud, Gwnaeth ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd fel y bwriadodd i ni am ein ffyrdd a'n gweithredoedd?'"
6Only, My words, and My statutes, That I commanded My servants the prophets, Have they not overtaken your fathers, And they turn back and say: As Jehovah of Hosts designed to do to us, According to our ways, and according to our doings, So He hath done to us?`
7 Ar y pedwerydd ar hugain o'r unfed mis ar ddeg, sef mis Sebat, o ail flwyddyn Dareius, daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD at y proffwyd Sechareia fab Beracheia, fab Ido.
7On the twenty and fourth day of the eleventh month, (it [is] the month of Sebat,) in the second year of Darius, hath a word of Jehovah been unto Zechariah, son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, the prophet, saying:
8 Dywedodd Sechareia: Neithiwr cefais weledigaeth, dyn yn marchogaeth ar geffyl coch. Yr oedd yn sefyll rhwng y myrtwydd yn y pant, ac o'i l yr oedd meirch cochion, brithion a gwynion.
8I have seen by night, and lo, one riding on a red horse, and he is standing between the myrtles that [are] in the shade, and behind him [are] horses, red, bay, and white.
9 A gofynnais, "Beth yw'r rhai hyn, arglwydd?" A dywedodd yr angel oedd yn siarad mi, "Dangosaf i ti beth ydynt."
9And I say, `What [are] these, my lord?` And the messenger who is speaking with me saith unto me, `I — I do shew thee what these [are].`
10 Yna dywedodd y gu373?r oedd yn sefyll rhwng y myrtwydd, "Dyma'r rhai a anfonodd yr ARGLWYDD i dramwyo dros y ddaear."
10And the one who is standing between the myrtles doth answer and say, `These [are] they whom Jehovah hath sent to walk up and down in the land.`
11 A dywedasant wrth angel yr ARGLWYDD, a oedd yn sefyll rhwng y myrtwydd, "Yr ydym wedi bod dros y ddaear, ac y mae'r holl ddaear yn dawel ac yn heddychlon."
11And they answer the messenger of Jehovah who is standing between the myrtles, and say, `We have walked up and down in the land, and lo, all the land is sitting still, and at rest.`
12 Yna atebodd angel yr ARGLWYDD, "O ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd, am ba hyd y peidi thosturio wrth Jerwsalem ac wrth ddinasoedd Jwda, y dangosaist dy lid wrthynt y deng mlynedd a thrigain hyn?"
12And the messenger of Jehovah answereth and saith, `Jehovah of Hosts! till when dost Thou not pity Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, that Thou hast abhorred these seventy years?`
13 A llefarodd yr Arglwydd eiriau caredig a chysurlon wrth yr angel oedd yn siarad mi,
13And Jehovah answereth the messenger, who is speaking with me, good words, comfortable words.
14 a dywedodd yr angel oedd yn siarad mi, "Cyhoedda, Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd: 'Yr wyf yn eiddigeddus iawn dros Jerwsalem a thros Seion.
14And the messenger who is speaking with me, saith unto me, `Call, saying: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: I have been zealous for Jerusalem, and for Zion [with] great zeal.
15 Yr wyf yn llawn llid mawr yn erbyn y cenhedloedd y mae'n esmwyth arnynt, am iddynt bentyrru drwg ar ddrwg pan nad oedd fy llid ond bychan.'
15And [with] great wrath I am wroth against the nations who are at ease, For I was a little wroth, and they assisted — for evil.
16 Am hynny, fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: 'Dychwelaf i Jerwsalem mewn trugaredd ac adeiledir fy nhu375? ynddi,' medd ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd, 'ac estynnir llinyn mesur dros Jerwsalem.'
16Therefore, thus said Jehovah: I have turned to Jerusalem with mercies, My house is built in it, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts, And a line is stretched over Jerusalem.
17 Cyhoedda hefyd, Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd: 'Bydd fy ninasoedd eto'n orlawn o ddaioni; rhydd yr ARGLWYDD eto gysur i Seion, a bydd eto'n dewis Jerwsalem.'"
17Again call, saying: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Again do my cities overflow from good, And Jehovah hath again comforted Zion, And He hath fixed again on Jerusalem.`
18 Edrychais i fyny a gwelais, ac wele bedwar corn.
18And I lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, four horns.
19 A gofynnais i'r angel oedd yn siarad mi, "Beth yw'r rhain?" A dywedodd wrthyf, "Dyma'r cyrn a wasgarodd Jwda, Israel a Jerwsalem."
19And I say unto the messenger who is speaking with me, `What [are] these?` And he saith unto me, `These [are] the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.`
20 Yna dangosodd yr ARGLWYDD imi bedwar gof.
20And Jehovah doth shew me four artizans.
21 A dywedais, "Beth y mae'r rhain am ei wneud?" Atebodd, "Bu'r cyrn hyn yn gwasgaru Jwda mor llwyr fel na allai neb godi ei ben; ond daeth y gofaint i'w dychryn a dinistrio cyrn y cenhedloedd a gododd gorn yn erbyn gwlad Jwda i'w gwasgaru."
21And I say, `What [are] these coming in to do?` And He speaketh, saying: `These [are] the horns that have scattered Judah, so that no one hath lifted up his head, and these come in to trouble them, to cast down the horns of the nations who are lifting up a horn against the land of Judah — to scatter it.`
