¹ Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Moses,

¹And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

² "Cysegra i mi bob cyntafanedig; eiddof fi yw'r cyntaf a ddaw o'r groth ymysg yr Israeliaid, yn ddyn ac anifail."

²Sanctify unto me all the first-born, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.

³ Yna dywedodd Moses wrth y bobl, "Cofiwch y dydd hwn, sef y dydd y daethoch allan o'r Aifft, o du375? caethiwed, oherwydd � llaw nerthol y daeth yr ARGLWYDD � chwi oddi yno; hefyd, peidiwch � bwyta bara lefeinllyd.

³And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand Jehovah brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.

⁴ Ar y dydd hwn ym mis Abib yr ewch allan.

⁴This day ye go forth in the month Abib.

⁵ Pan fydd yr ARGLWYDD wedi dod � thi i wlad y Canaaneaid, Hethiaid, Amoriaid, Hefiaid a Jebusiaid, sef y wlad yr addawodd i'th hynafiaid y byddai'n ei rhoi i ti, gwlad yn llifeirio o laeth a m�l, yr wyt i gadw'r ddefod hon yn ystod y mis hwn.

⁵And it shall be, when Jehovah shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.

⁶ Am saith diwrnod byddi'n bwyta bara croyw, ac ar y seithfed dydd bydd gu373?yl i'r ARGLWYDD.

⁶Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to Jehovah.

⁷ Bara croyw a fwyteir am saith diwrnod, ac ni fydd bara lefeinllyd na surdoes i'w weld yn unman o fewn dy dir.

⁷Unleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee, in all thy borders.

⁸ Ar y dydd hwnnw, fe ddywedir wrth dy blentyn, 'Gwneir hyn oherwydd y peth a wnaeth yr ARGLWYDD i mi pan ddeuthum allan o'r Aifft.'

⁸And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying, It is because of that which Jehovah did for me when I came forth out of Egypt.

⁹ Bydd hyn i ti yn arwydd ar dy law a rhwng dy lygaid, i'th atgoffa y dylai cyfraith yr ARGLWYDD fod yn dy enau; oherwydd � llaw nerthol y daeth yr ARGLWYDD � thi allan o'r Aifft.

⁹And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thy hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the law of Jehovah may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath Jehovah brought thee out of Egypt.

¹⁰ Yr wyt i gadw'r ddeddf hon yn ei hamser penodedig o flwyddyn i flwyddyn.

¹⁰Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in its season from year to year.

¹¹ "Pan fydd yr ARGLWYDD wedi dod � thi i wlad y Canaaneaid a'i rhoi iti, fel y tyngodd i ti ac i'th hynafiaid,

¹¹And it shall be, when Jehovah shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanite, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,

¹² yr wyt i neilltuo pob cyntafanedig iddo ef; bydd pob gwryw cyntafanedig o blith dy anifeiliaid yn eiddo i'r ARGLWYDD.

¹²that thou shalt set apart unto Jehovah all that openeth the womb, and every firstling which thou hast that cometh of a beast; the males shall be Jehovah's.

¹³ Ond yr wyt i roi oen yn gyfnewid am bob asyn cyntafanedig, ac os nad wyt am ei gyfnewid, yr wyt i dorri ei wddf. Yr wyt hefyd i gyfnewid pob cyntafanedig o blith dy feibion.

¹³And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break its neck: and all the first-born of man among thy sons shalt thou redeem.

¹⁴ Yna pan fydd dy blentyn ymhen amser yn gofyn, 'Beth yw ystyr hyn?' dywed wrtho, '� llaw nerthol y daeth yr ARGLWYDD � ni o'r Aifft, o du375? caethiwed;

¹⁴And it shall be, when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand Jehovah brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:

¹⁵ oherwydd pan wrthododd Pharo ein gollwng yn rhydd, lladdodd yr ARGLWYDD bob cyntafanedig, yn ddyn ac anifail, yng ngwlad yr Aifft. Dyna pam yr wyf yn aberthu i'r ARGLWYDD bob gwryw cyntafanedig, ond yn cyfnewid pob cyntafanedig o blith fy meibion.'

¹⁵and it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that Jehovah slew all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both the first-born of man, and the first-born of beast: therefore I sacrifice to Jehovah all that openeth the womb, being males; but all the first-born of my sons I redeem.

¹⁶ Bydd hyn yn arwydd ar dy law ac yn rhactalau rhwng dy lygaid; oherwydd � llaw nerthol y daeth yr ARGLWYDD � ni allan o'r Aifft."

¹⁶And it shall be for a sign upon thy hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand Jehovah brought us forth out of Egypt.

¹⁷ Pan ollyngodd Pharo y bobl yn rhydd, nid arweiniodd Duw hwy ar hyd ffordd gwlad y Philistiaid, er bod honno'n agos. "Oherwydd," meddai, "gallai'r bobl newid eu meddwl pan welant ryfel, a dychwelyd i'r Aifft."

¹⁷And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

¹⁸ Felly arweiniodd hwy ar hyd ffordd yr anialwch i gyfeiriad y M�r Coch, ac aeth yr Israeliaid allan o wlad yr Aifft gan ddwyn eu harfau rhyfel.

¹⁸but God led the people about, by the way of the wilderness by the Red Sea: and the children of Israel went up armed out of the land of Egypt.

¹⁹ Cymerodd Moses esgyrn Joseff gydag ef, oherwydd yr oedd Joseff wedi gosod yr Israeliaid dan lw, drwy ddweud, "Bydd Duw yn sicr o ymweld � chwi, a'r pryd hwnnw yr ydych i ddwyn fy esgyrn oddi yma gyda chwi."

¹⁹And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.

²⁰ Aethant ymaith o Succoth a gwersyllu yn Etham, ar gwr yr anialwch.

²⁰And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.

²¹ Yr oedd yr ARGLWYDD yn mynd o'u blaen mewn colofn o niwl yn ystod y dydd i'w harwain ar y ffordd, ac mewn colofn o d�n yn ystod y nos i'w goleuo; felly gallent deithio ddydd a nos.

²¹And Jehovah went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them the way, and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light, that they might go by day and by night:

²² Ni symudwyd y golofn niwl oedd o flaen y bobl yn ystod y dydd na'r golofn d�n oedd o'u blaen yn ystod y nos.

²²the pillar of cloud by day, and the pillar of fire by night, departed not from before the people.
