2 Kings

16

1 Yn yr ail flwyddyn ar bymtheg i Pecach fab Remaleia, daeth Ahas fab Jotham brenin Jwda i'r orsedd.
1In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah, Ahaz the son of Jotham, king of Judah, began to reign.
2 Ugain oed oedd Ahas pan ddaeth yn frenin, a theyrnasodd am un mlynedd ar bymtheg yn Jerwsalem; ond ni wnaeth yr hyn oedd uniawn yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD ei Dduw fel y gwnaeth ei dad Dafydd.
2Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And he did not what was right in the sight of Jehovah his God, like David his father,
3 Dilynodd esiampl brenhinoedd Israel, ac yn waeth, fe barodd i'w fab fynd trwy dn yn l arfer ffiaidd y cenhedloedd a ddisodlodd yr ARGLWYDD o flaen yr Israeliaid.
3but walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and even caused his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the nations that Jehovah had dispossessed from before the children of Israel.
4 Yr oedd yn aberthu ac yn arogldarthu yn yr uchelfeydd ac ar y bryniau a than bob pren gwyrddlas.
4And he sacrificed and burned incense on the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
5 Yr adeg honno daeth Resin brenin Syria a Pecach fab Remaleia brenin Israel i ryfela yn erbyn Jerwsalem. Rhoesant warchae ar Ahas, ond methu ei gael i frwydro.
5Then Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah son of Remaliah, the king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem to battle; and they besieged Ahaz, but were unable to conquer him.
6 Y pryd hwnnw enillwyd Elath yn l i Edom gan frenin Edom, a gyrrodd ef yr Iddewon allan o Elath. Daeth yr Edomiaid yn l i Elath, ac y maent yn byw yno hyd heddiw.
6At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drove the Jews from Elath; and the Syrians came to Elath, and dwelt there to this day.
7 Anfonodd Ahas genhadau at Tiglath-pileser brenin Asyria a dweud, "Gwas a deiliad i ti wyf fi; tyrd i'm gwaredu o law brenhinoedd Syria ac Israel, sy'n ymosod arnaf."
7And Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, who have risen up against me.
8 Cymerodd Ahas yr arian a'r aur oedd ar gael yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD ac yng nghoffrau'r palas a'u hanfon yn rhodd i frenin Asyria.
8And Ahaz took the silver and the gold that was found in the house of Jehovah, and in the treasures of the king's house, and sent it [as] a present to the king of Assyria.
9 Gwrandawodd brenin Asyria arno, a mynd yn erbyn Damascus a'i goresgyn; caethgludodd ei thrigolion i Cir, a lladd Resin.
9And the king of Assyria hearkened to him; and the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried it captive to Kir, and put Rezin to death.
10 Yna aeth y Brenin Ahas i Ddamascus i gyfarfod Tiglath-pileser brenin Asyria. Gwelodd yno allor, ac anfonodd batrwm ohoni a holl fanylion ei gwneuthuriad at Ureia yr offeiriad.
10And king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria; and he saw the altar that was at Damascus, and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the form of the altar, and the pattern of it, according to all its workmanship.
11 Yna adeiladodd yr offeiriad Ureia allor, yn l y manylion a anfonodd y Brenin Ahas o Ddamascus, a'i gwneud yn barod erbyn i'r Brenin Ahas gyrraedd.
11And Urijah the priest built an altar according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus; thus Urijah the priest made [it], against king Ahaz came from Damascus.
12 Pan gyrhaeddodd y brenin o Ddamascus a gweld yr allor, aeth i fyny a nesu ati.
12And when the king came from Damascus, the king saw the altar; and the king approached to the altar, and offered upon it.
13 Yna llosgodd ei boethoffrwm a'i fwydoffrwm, a thywallt ei ddiodoffrwm a lluchio gwaed ei heddoffrymau yn erbyn yr allor.
13And he burned his burnt-offering and his oblation, and poured out his drink-offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace-offering upon the altar.
14 Symudodd yr allor bres a arferai fod gerbron yr ARGLWYDD ym mlaen y tu375?, a'i gosod rhwng yr allor newydd a thu375?'r ARGLWYDD, ar ochr ogleddol yr allor honno.
14And the brazen altar which was before Jehovah, he brought forward from the forefront of the house, from between [his] altar and the house of Jehovah, and put it by the side of [his] altar on the north.
15 A gorchmynnodd y Brenin Ahas i'r offeiriad Ureia, "Ar yr allor fawr yr wyt i losgi'r poethoffrwm boreol a'r bwydoffrwm hwyrol, a hefyd poethoffrwm a bwydoffrwm y brenin, a phoethoffrwm holl bobl y wlad ynghyd 'u bwydoffrwm a'u diodoffrymau. Ac yn ei herbyn hi y lluchi holl waed y poethoffrymau a'r aberthau. Ond ar fy nghyfer i y bydd yr allor bres i ymofyn wrthi."
15And king Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt-offering, and the evening oblation, and the king's burnt-offering, and his oblation, and the burnt-offering of all the people of the land, and their oblation, and their drink-offerings; and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt-offerings, and all the blood of the sacrifices; and the brazen altar shall be for me to inquire [by].
16 Gwnaeth yr offeiriad Ureia yn union fel y gorchmynnodd y Brenin Ahas.
16And Urijah the priest did according to all that king Ahaz had commanded.
17 Tynnodd y Brenin Ahas fframiau'r trolau a gwneud i ffwrdd 'u carfanau a'r noe; hefyd dymchwelodd y mr oddi ar gefn yr ychen pres a fu dano, a'i osod ar sylfaen o gerrig.
17And king Ahaz cut off the panels of the bases, and removed the lavers from off them; and took down the sea from off the brazen oxen that were under it, and put it upon a stone pavement.
18 Hefyd, o achos brenin Asyria, cymerodd o du375? yr ARGLWYDD lidiart y Saboth a adeiladwyd yn y deml wrth fynedfa allanol y brenin.
18And the covered way of the sabbath that they had built in the house, and the king's entry outside, he turned from the house of Jehovah on account of the king of Assyria.
19 Am weddill hanes Ahas, a'r hyn a wnaeth, onid yw wedi ei ysgrifennu yn llyfr hanesion brenhinoedd Jwda?
19And the rest of the acts of Ahaz, what he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
20 Bu farw Ahas, a chladdwyd ef gyda'i ragflaenwyr yn Ninas Dafydd, a theyrnasodd ei fab Heseceia yn ei le.
20And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.
