Darby's Translation

2 Samuel

7

1 Wedi i'r brenin fynd i fyw i'w du375? ei hun, ac i'r ARGLWYDD roi llonyddwch iddo oddi wrth ei holl elynion o'i amgylch,
1And it came to pass when the king dwelt in his house, and Jehovah had given him rest round about from all his enemies,
2 dywedodd y brenin wrth y proffwyd Nathan, "Edrych yn awr, yr wyf fi'n trigo mewn tu375? o gedrwydd, tra mae arch Duw yn aros mewn pabell."
2that the king said to Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in a house of cedars, and the ark of God dwells under curtains.
3 Ac meddai Nathan wrth y brenin, "Dos, a gwna bopeth sydd yn dy galon, oherwydd y mae'r ARGLWYDD gyda thi."
3And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thy heart; for Jehovah is with thee.
4 Ond y noson honno daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD at Nathan, gan ddweud,
4And it came to pass that night that the word of Jehovah came to Nathan, saying,
5 "Dos, dywed wrth fy ngwas Dafydd, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: A wyt ti am adeiladu i mi du375? i breswylio ynddo?
5Go and say to my servant, to David, Thus saith Jehovah: Wilt thou build me a house for me to dwell in?
6 Yn wir, nid wyf wedi preswylio mewn tu375? o'r diwrnod y dygais yr Israeliaid allan o'r Aifft hyd heddiw; yr oeddwn yn mynd o le i le mewn pabell a thabernacl.
6For I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but I went about in a tent and in a tabernacle.
7 Ple bynnag y bm yn teithio gyda'r holl Israeliaid, a fu imi yngan gair wrth unrhyw un o farnwyr Israel, a benodais i fugeilio fy mhobl Israel, a gofyn, "Pam na fyddech wedi adeiladu tu375? o gedrwydd i mi?"'
7In all my going about with all the children of Israel, did I speak a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye me not a house of cedars?
8 Felly, dywed fel hyn wrth fy ngwas Dafydd, 'Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd: Myfi a'th gymerodd di o'r maes, o ganlyn defaid, i fod yn arweinydd i'm pobl Israel.
8And now, thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: I took thee from the pasture-grounds, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people, over Israel;
9 Yr oeddwn gyda thi ple bynnag yr aethost, a dinistriais dy holl elynion o'th flaen, a gwneud iti enw mawr fel eiddo'r mawrion a fu ar y ddaear.
9and I have been with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are on the earth.
10 Ac yr wyf am baratoi lle i'm pobl Israel, a'u plannu, iddynt gael ymsefydlu heb eu tarfu rhagor; ac ni fydd treiswyr yn eu cystuddio eto, fel yn yr adeg gynt,
10And I will appoint a place for my people, for Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and be disturbed no more; neither shall the sons of wickedness afflict them any more, as formerly,
11 pan benodais farnwyr dros fy mhobl Israel; rhoddaf iti lonyddwch oddi wrth dy holl elynion. Y mae'r ARGLWYDD yn dy hysbysu mai ef, yr ARGLWYDD, fydd yn gwneud tu375? i ti.
11and since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. And I have given thee rest from all thine enemies; and Jehovah telleth thee that Jehovah will make thee a house.
12 Pan ddaw dy ddyddiau i ben, a thithau'n gorwedd gyda'th hynafiaid, codaf blentyn iti ar dy l, un yn hanu ohonot, a gwnaf ei deyrnas yn gadarn.
12When thy days are fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
13 Ef fydd yn adeiladu tu375? i'm henw, a gwnaf innau orsedd ei deyrnas yn gadarn am byth.
13It is he who shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
14 Byddaf fi'n dad iddo ef, a bydd yntau'n fab i mi. Pan fydd yn troseddu, ceryddaf ef gwialen fel y gwna rhywun, ac chernodiau dynol,
14I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the sons of men;
15 ond ni chymeraf fy nhrugaredd oddi wrtho, fel y cymerais hi oddi wrth Saul pan symudais ef o'r ffordd o'th flaen.
15but my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before thee.
16 Sicrheir dy deulu a'th deyrnas am byth o'm blaen; erys dy orsedd yn gadarn hyd byth.'"
16And thy house and thy kingdom shall be made firm for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.
17 Dywedodd Nathan wrth Ddafydd y cwbl a ddywedwyd ac a ddangoswyd iddo ef.
17According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak to David.
18 Yna aeth y Brenin Dafydd i mewn ac eistedd o flaen yr ARGLWYDD a dweud, "Pwy wyf fi, O Arglwydd DDUW, a phwy yw fy nheulu, dy fod wedi dod mi hyd yma?
18And king David went in and sat before Jehovah, and said, Who am I, Lord Jehovah, and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
19 Ac fel pe byddai hyn eto'n beth bychan yn d'olwg, O Arglwydd DDUW, yr wyt hefyd wedi llefaru ynglu375?n theulu dy was ar gyfer y dyfodol pell, a gwneud hyn yn drefn dragwyddol, O Arglwydd DDUW.
19And yet this hath been a small thing in thy sight, Lord Jehovah; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, Lord Jehovah?
20 Beth yn rhagor y medraf fi, Dafydd, ei ddweud wrthyt, a thithau yn adnabod dy was, O Arglwydd DDUW?
20And what can David say more to thee? for thou, Lord Jehovah, knowest thy servant.
21 Oherwydd dy addewid, ac yn l dy ewyllys, y gwnaethost yr holl fawredd hwn, a'i hysbysu i'th was.
21For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, to make thy servant know [it].
22 Mawr wyt ti, O Arglwydd DDUW, oblegid ni chlywodd ein clustiau am neb tebyg i ti, nac am un duw ar wahn i ti.
22Wherefore thou art great, Jehovah Elohim; for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
23 A phwy sydd fel dy bobl Israel, cenedl unigryw ar y ddaear? Aeth Duw ei hun i'w phrynu iddo'n bobl, ac i ennill bri iddo'i hun, a gwneud pethau mawr ac ofnadwy er ei mwyn, trwy fwrw allan genhedloedd a'u duwiau o flaen dy bobl, y rhai a brynaist i ti dy hun o'r Aifft.
23And who is like thy people, like Israel, the one nation in the earth that God went to redeem to be a people to himself, and to make himself a name, and to do for them great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thyself from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?
24 Sicrheaist ti dy bobl Israel i fod yn bobl i ti hyd byth; a daethost tithau, O ARGLWYDD, yn Dduw iddynt hwy.
24And thou hast established to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever; and thou, Jehovah, art become their God.
25 Yn awr, O ARGLWYDD Dduw, cadarnha hyd byth yr addewid a wnaethost ynglu375?n 'th was a'i deulu, a gwna fel y dywedaist.
25And now, Jehovah Elohim, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house, fulfil it for ever, and do as thou hast said.
26 Yna, fe fawrheir dy enw hyd byth, a dywedir, 'ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd sydd Dduw ar Israel'; a bydd tu375? dy was Dafydd yn sicr ger dy fron.
26And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, Jehovah of hosts is God over Israel; and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.
27 Am i ti, ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd, Duw Israel, ddatgelu hyn i'th was a dweud, 'Adeiladaf i ti du375?', fe fentrodd dy was weddo fel hyn arnat.
27For thou, Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee a house; therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.
28 Yn awr, O Arglwydd DDUW, ti sydd Dduw; y mae d'eiriau di yn wir, ac fe addewaist y daioni hwn i'th was.
28And now, Lord Jehovah, thou art that God, and thy words are true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant;
29 Felly'n awr, gwl yn dda fendithio tu375? dy was, fel y caiff barhau am byth yn dy u373?ydd; yn wir, yr wyt ti, O Arglwydd DDUW, wedi addo, a thrwy dy fendith di y bendithir tu375? dy was hyd byth."
29and now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever; for thou, Lord Jehovah, hast spoken it; and with thy blessing shall the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.
