1 Clywch y gair hwn a lefaraf yn eich erbyn; galarnad yw, du375? Israel:
1Hear this word, a lamentation, which I take up against you, O house of Israel.
2 "Y mae'r wyryf Israel wedi syrthio, ac ni chyfyd eto; gadawyd hi ar lawr, heb neb i'w chodi."
2The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more arise: she is cast down upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
3 Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD Dduw wrth du375? Israel: "Y ddinas a anfonodd fil a gaiff gant yn l; a'r un a anfonodd gant a gaiff ddeg yn l."
3For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: The city that went forth a thousand shall have a hundred left, and that which went forth a hundred shall have ten left, for the house of Israel.
4 Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD wrth du375? Israel: "Ceisiwch fi, a byddwch fyw;
4For thus saith Jehovah unto the house of Israel: Seek ye me, and ye shall live.
5 peidiwch cheisio Bethel, nac ymweld Gilgal, na theithio i Beerseba; oherwydd yn wir fe gaethgludir Gilgal, ac ni bydd Bethel yn ddim."
5And seek not Bethel, neither go to Gilgal, and pass not to Beer-sheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought.
6 Ceisiwch yr ARGLWYDD, a byddwch fyw rhag iddo ruthro fel tn drwy du375? Joseff a'i ddifa, heb neb i'w ddiffodd ym Methel
6Seek Jehovah, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour [it], and there be none to quench [it] in Bethel.
7 chwi sy'n troi barn yn wermod, ac yn taflu cyfiawnder i'r llawr.
7Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and cast down righteousness to the earth,
8 Ef a wnaeth Pleiades ac Orion; ef sy'n troi tywyllwch yn fore, ac yn tywyllu'r dydd yn nos. Ef sy'n galw ar ddyfroedd y mr, ac yn eu tywallt ar wyneb y tir; yr ARGLWYDD yw ei enw.
8[seek him] that made the Pleiades and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night; that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: Jehovah is his name.
9 Gwna i ddinistr fflachio ar y cryf, a daw distryw ar y gaer.
9He causeth destruction to break forth suddenly upon the strong, and bringeth destruction upon the fortress.
10 Y maent yn casu'r un a wna farn yn y porth, ac yn ffieiddio'r sawl a lefara'n onest.
10They hate him that reproveth in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.
11 Felly, am ichwi sathru'r tlawd, a chymryd oddi arno ei gyfran gwenith er ichwi godi tai o gerrig nadd, ni chewch fyw ynddynt; er ichwi blannu gwinllannoedd hyfryd, ni chewch yfed eu gwin.
11Forasmuch, therefore, as ye trample upon the poor, and take from him presents of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, and ye shall not drink the wine of them.
12 Canys gwn mor niferus yw'ch troseddau ac mor fawr yw'ch pechodau chwi, sy'n gorthrymu'r cyfiawn, yn derbyn llwgrwobr, ac yn troi ymaith y tlawd yn y porth.
12For I know how manifold are your transgressions and your sins mighty: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside [the right of] the needy in the gate.
13 Felly tawed y doeth ar y fath amser, canys amser drwg ydyw.
13Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in this time; for it is an evil time.
14 Ceisiwch ddaioni, ac nid drygioni, fel y byddwch fyw ac y bydd yr ARGLWYDD, Duw'r Lluoedd, gyda chwi, fel yr ydych yn honni ei fod.
14Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live; and so Jehovah, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye say.
15 Casewch ddrygioni, carwch ddaioni, gofalwch am farn yn y porth; efallai y trugarha'r ARGLWYDD, Duw'r Lluoedd, wrth weddill Joseff.
15Hate evil, and love good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that Jehovah, the God of hosts, will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
16 Am hynny, fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, Duw'r Lluoedd, yr Arglwydd: "Ym mhob sgwr fe fydd wylo, ym mhob stryd fe ddywedant, 'Och! Och!' Galwant ar y llafurwr i alaru ac ar y galarwyr i gwynfan.
16Therefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the Lord: Wailing shall be in all broadways; and they shall say in all the streets, Alas! alas! And they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.
17 Bydd wylofain ym mhob gwinllan, oherwydd mi af trwy dy ganol," medd yr ARGLWYDD.
17And in all vineyards shall be wailing; for I will pass through the midst of thee, saith Jehovah.
18 Gwae y rhai sy'n dyheu am ddydd yr ARGLWYDD! Beth fydd dydd yr ARGLWYDD i chwi? Tywyllwch fydd, nid goleuni;
18Woe unto you that desire the day of Jehovah! To what end is the day of Jehovah for you? It shall be darkness and not light:
19 fel pe bai dyn yn dianc rhag llew, ac arth yn ei gyfarfod; neu'n cyrraedd y tu375? ac yn rhoi ei law ar y pared, a neidr yn ei frathu.
19as if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
20 Onid tywyllwch fydd dydd yr ARGLWYDD, ac nid goleuni; caddug, heb lygedyn golau ynddo?
20Shall not the day of Jehovah be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?
21 "Yr wyf yn casu, yr wyf yn ffieiddio eich gwyliau; nid oes imi bleser yn eich cymanfaoedd.
21I hate, I despise your feasts, and I will not smell [a sweet odour] in your solemn assemblies.
22 Er ichwi aberthu imi boethoffrymau a bwydoffrymau, ni allaf eu derbyn; ac nid edrychaf ar eich heddoffrymau o'ch pasgedigion.
22For if ye offer up unto me burnt-offerings and your oblations, I will not accept [them]; neither will I regard the peace-offerings of your fatted beasts.
23 Ewch su373?n eich caneuon oddi wrthyf; ni wrandawaf ar gainc eich telynau.
23Take away from me the noise of thy songs, and I will not hear the melody of thy lutes;
24 Ond llifed barn fel dyfroedd a chyfiawnder fel afon gref.
24but let judgment roll down as waters, and righteousness as an ever-flowing stream.
25 "A ddaethoch ag aberthau ac offrymau i mi yn yr anialwch am ddeugain mlynedd, du375? Israel?
25Did ye bring unto me sacrifices and oblations in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
26 Fe gludwch ymaith eich delwau, a wnaethoch i chwi eich duw Saccuth, a Caiwan eich seren-dduw
26Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of your Moloch, and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye had made to yourselves;
27 oherwydd caethgludaf chwi y tu hwnt i Ddamascus," medd yr ARGLWYDD; Duw'r Lluoedd yw ei enw.
27and I will cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith Jehovah, whose name is the God of hosts.
