Darby's Translation

Deuteronomy

25

1 Os bydd ymrafael rhwng dau, y maent i ddod 'r achos i lys barn, ac y mae'r barnwr i ddedfrydu, gan ddyfarnu o blaid y cyfiawn a chondemnio'r euog.
1If there be a controversy between men, and they resort to judgment, and they judge [their case]; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.
2 Ac os yw'r euog yn haeddu ei fflangellu, y mae'r barnwr i beri iddo orwedd a derbyn yn ei u373?ydd y nifer o lachau sy'n briodol i'r trosedd.
2And it shall be if the wicked man have deserved to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and be beaten before his face, according to the measure of his wickedness with a certain number [of stripes].
3 Nid ydynt i'w guro mwy na deugain llach rhag iddo, o'i fflangellu lawer mwy na hyn, fynd yn wrthrych dirmyg yn d'olwg.
3With forty [stripes] shall they beat him; they shall not exceed, lest, if they continue to beat him with many stripes above these, thy brother become despicable in thine eyes.
4 Nid wyt i roi genfa am safn ych tra byddo'n dyrnu.
4Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out [the corn].
5 Os bydd brodyr yn byw gyda'i gilydd ac un ohonynt yn marw'n ddi-blant, nid yw'r weddw i briodi estron o'r tu allan; y mae ei brawd-yng-nghyfraith i fynd i mewn ati a'i chymryd hi'n wraig iddo, a chyflawni dyletswydd.
5If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no son, the wife of the dead shall not marry a stranger abroad: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him as wife, and perform the duty of a husband's brother unto her.
6 Bydd y mab cyntaf a enir iddi yn cymryd enw'r brawd a fu farw, rhag dileu ei enw o Israel.
6And it shall be, that the firstborn that she beareth shall stand in the name of his brother who is dead, that his name be not blotted out from Israel.
7 Ac os na bydd y dyn hwnnw'n dymuno priodi ei chwaer-yng-nghyfraith, aed honno i fyny i'r porth at yr henuriaid a dweud, "Y mae fy mrawd-yng-nghyfraith yn gwrthod sicrhau bod enw ei frawd yn parhau yn Israel; nid yw'n fodlon cyflawni dyletswydd brawd-yng-nghyfraith mi."
7But if the man like not to take his brother's wife, his brother's wife shall go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel: he will not perform for me the duty of a husband's brother.
8 Yna y mae henuriaid ei dref i'w alw atynt a siarad ag ef; ac os yw'n para i ddweud, "Nid wyf yn dymuno ei phriodi",
8Then the elders of his city shall call him and speak unto him; and if he stand to it and say, I like not to take her;
9 bydd ei chwaer-yng-nghyfraith yn dod ato yng ngu373?ydd yr henuriaid, yn tynnu ei sandal oddi ar ei droed, yn poeri yn ei wyneb ac yn cyhoeddi, "Dyma a wneir i'r dyn nad yw am adeiladu tu375? ei frawd."
9then shall his brother's wife come near to him before the eyes of the elders, and draw his sandal from his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto the man that will not build up his brother's house.
10 A bydd ei deulu'n cael ei adnabod drwy Israel fel teulu'r dyn y tynnwyd ei sandal.
10And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe drawn off.
11 Os bydd dau gymydog yn ymladd 'i gilydd, a gwraig y naill yn dod i achub ei gu373?r rhag yr un sy'n ei daro, ac yn estyn ei llaw a chydio yng nghwd y llall,
11When men fight together one with another, and the wife of the one come near to rescue her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and stretch out her hand, and seize him by his secret parts,
12 torrer ei llaw i ffwrdd; nid wyt i dosturio wrthi.
12thou shalt cut off her hand; thine eye shall not spare.
13 Nid wyt i feddu pwysau anghyfartal yn dy god, un yn drwm a'r llall yn ysgafn.
13Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.
14 Nid wyt i feddu yn dy du375? fesurau anghyfartal, un yn fawr a'r llall yn fach.
14Thou shalt not have in thy house divers ephahs, a great and a small.
15 Y mae dy bwysau a'th fesurau i fod yn gyfain ac yn safonol, fel yr estynner dy ddyddiau yn y tir y mae'r ARGLWYDD dy Dduw yn ei roi iti.
15A perfect and just weight shalt thou have; a perfect and just ephah shalt thou have; that thy days may be prolonged in the land that Jehovah thy God giveth thee.
16 Oherwydd y mae pob un sy'n gwneud fel arall, ac yn gweithredu'n anonest, yn ffiaidd gan yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw.
16For every one that doeth such things, every one that doeth unrighteousness, is an abomination to Jehovah thy God.
17 Cofia'r hyn a wnaeth Amalec iti ar dy ffordd allan o'r Aifft;
17Remember what Amalek did unto thee on the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt;
18 heb ofni Duw, daeth allan ac ymosod o'r tu cefn ar bawb oedd yn llusgo'n araf ar dy l, pan oeddit yn lluddedig a diffygiol.
18how he met thee on the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, all the feeble that lagged behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary, and he feared not God.
19 Pan fydd yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw wedi rhoi iti lonydd oddi wrth dy holl elynion o'th amgylch yn y wlad y mae'n ei rhoi iti i'w meddiannu'n etifeddiaeth, yr wyt i ddileu coffadwriaeth Amalec oddi tan y nef. Paid ag anghofio.
19And it shall be, when Jehovah thy God shall have given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land that Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under the heavens; thou shalt not forget it.
