Darby's Translation

Deuteronomy

32

1 Gwrandewch, chwi nefoedd, a llefaraf; clyw, di ddaear, eiriau fy ngenau.
1Give ear, ye heavens, and I will speak; And hear, O earth, the words of my mouth!
2 Bydd fy nysgeidiaeth yn disgyn fel glaw, a'm hymadrodd yn diferu fel gwlith, fel glaw mn ar borfa, megis cawodydd ar laswellt.
2My doctrine shall drop as rain, My speech flow down as dew, As small rain upon the tender herb, And as showers on the grass.
3 Pan gyhoeddaf enw yr ARGLWYDD, cyffeswch fawredd ein Duw.
3For the name of Jehovah will I proclaim: Ascribe greatness unto our God!
4 Ef yw'r Graig; perffaith yw ei waith, a chyfiawn yw ei ffyrdd bob un. Duw ffyddlon heb dwyll yw; un cyfiawn ac uniawn yw ef.
4[He is] the Rock, his work is perfect, For all his ways are righteousness; A ùGod of faithfulness without deceit, Just and right is he.
5 Y genhedlaeth wyrgam a throfaus, sy'n ymddwyn mor llygredig tuag ato, nid ei blant ef ydynt o gwbl!
5They have dealt corruptly with him; Not his children's is their spot: -- A crooked and perverted generation!
6 Ai dyma eich tl i'r ARGLWYDD, O bobl ynfyd ac angall? Onid ef yw dy dad, a'th luniodd, yr un a'th wnaeth ac a'th sefydlodd?
6Do ye thus requite Jehovah, Foolish and unwise people? Is not he thy father that hath bought thee? Hath he not made thee and established thee?
7 Cofia'r dyddiau gynt, ystyria flynyddoedd y cenedlaethau a fu; gofyn i'th dad, ac fe fynega ef iti; neu i'th hynafgwyr, ac fe ddywedant hwy wrthyt.
7Remember the days of old, Consider the years of generation to generation; Ask thy father, and he will shew thee; Thine elders, and they will tell thee.
8 Pan roddodd y Goruchaf eu hetifeddiaeth i'r cenhedloedd, a gwasgaru'r ddynoliaeth ar led, fe bennodd derfynau'r bobloedd yn l rhifedi plant Duw.
8When the Most High assigned to the nations their inheritance, When he separated the sons of Adam, He set the bounds of the peoples According to the number of the children of Israel.
9 Ei bobl ei hun oedd rhan yr ARGLWYDD, Jacob oedd ei etifeddiaeth ef.
9For Jehovah's portion is his people; Jacob the lot of his inheritance.
10 Fe'i cafodd ef mewn gwlad anial, mewn gwagle erchyll, diffaith; amgylchodd ef a'i feithrin, amddiffynnodd ef fel cannwyll ei lygad.
10He found him in a desert land, And in the waste, howling wilderness; He compassed him about, he watched over him, He preserved him as the apple of his eye.
11 Fel eryr yn cyffroi ei nyth ac yn hofran uwch ei gywion, lledai ei adenydd a'u cymryd ato, a'u cludo ar ei esgyll.
11As the eagle stirreth up its nest, Hovereth over its young, Spreadeth out its wings, Taketh them, beareth them on its feathers,
12 Yr ARGLWYDD ei hunan fu'n ei arwain, heb un duw estron gydag ef.
12So Jehovah alone did lead him, And no strange ùgod [was] with him.
13 Gwnaeth iddo farchogaeth ar uchelderau'r ddaear, a bwyta cnwd y maes; parodd iddo sugno ml o'r clogwyn, ac olew o'r graig gallestr.
13He made him ride on the high places of the earth, And he ate the produce of the field; And he made him suck honey out of the crag, And oil out of the flinty rock;
14 Cafodd ymenyn o'r fuches, llaeth y ddafad a braster u373?yn, hyrddod o frid Basan, a bychod, braster gronynnau gwenith hefyd, a gwin o sudd grawnwin i'w yfed.
14Cream of kine, and milk of sheep, With the fat of lambs, And rams of the breed of Bashan, and he-goats, With the fat of kidneys of wheat; And thou didst drink pure wine, the blood of the grape.
15 Bwytaodd Jacob, a'i ddigoni; pesgodd Jesurun, a chiciodd; pesgodd, a thewychu'n wancus. Gwrthododd y Duw a'i creodd, a diystyru Craig ei iachawdwriaeth.
15Then Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked -- Thou art waxen fat, Thou art grown thick, And thou art covered with fatness; -- He gave up +God who made him, And lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
16 Gwnaethant ef yn eiddigeddus duwiau dieithr, a'i ddigio ag arferion ffiaidd.
16They moved him to jealousy with strange gods, With abominations did they provoke him to anger.
17 Yr oeddent yn aberthu i ddemoniaid nad oeddent dduwiau, ac i dduwiau nad oeddent yn eu hadnabod, duwiau newydd yn dod oddi wrth eu cymdogion, nad oedd eu hynafiaid wedi eu parchu.
17They sacrificed unto demons who are not +God; To gods whom they knew not, To new ones, who came newly up, Whom your fathers revered not.
18 Anghofiaist y Graig a'th genhedlodd, a gollwng dros gof y Duw a ddaeth thi i'r byd.
18Of the Rock that begot thee wast thou unmindful, And thou hast forgotten ùGod who brought thee forth.
19 Pan welodd yr ARGLWYDD hyn, fe'u ffieiddiodd hwy, oherwydd i'w feibion a'i ferched ei gythruddo.
19And Jehovah saw it, and despised them, Because of the provoking of his sons and of his daughters.
20 Dywedodd, "Cuddiaf fy wyneb rhagddynt, edrychaf beth fydd eu diwedd; oherwydd cenhedlaeth wrthryfelgar ydynt, plant heb ffyddlondeb ynddynt.
20And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be; For they are a perverse generation, Children in whom is no faithfulness.
21 Gwnaethant fi'n eiddigeddus wrth un nad yw'n dduw, a'm digio 'u heilunod; gwnaf finnau hwy'n eiddigeddus wrth bobl nad yw'n bobl, a'u digio chenedl ynfyd.
21They have moved me to jealousy with that which is no ùGod; They have exasperated me with their vanities; And I will move them to jealousy with that which is not a people; With a foolish nation will I provoke them to anger.
22 "Yn ddiau, cyneuwyd tn gan fy nig, ac fe lysg hyd waelod Sheol; bydd yn ysu'r tir a'i gynnyrch, ac yn ffaglu seiliau'r mynyddoedd.
22For a fire is kindled in mine anger, And it shall burn into the lowest Sheol, And shall consume the earth and its produce, And set fire to the foundations of the mountains.
23 Pentyrraf ddrygau arnynt, saethaf atynt bob saeth sydd gennyf:
23I will heap mischiefs upon them; Mine arrows will I spend against them.
24 nychdod newyn, anrheithiau twymyn, a dinistr chwerw. Anfonaf ddannedd bwystfilod yn eu herbyn a gwenwyn ymlusgiaid y llwch.
24They shall be consumed with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, And with poisonous pestilence; And the teeth of beasts will I send against them, With the poison of what crawleth in the dust.
25 Oddi allan bydd y cleddyf yn creu amddifaid, ac yn y cartref bydd arswyd; trewir y gwu375?r ifainc a'r gwyryfon fel ei gilydd, y baban sugno yn ogystal 'r hynafgwr.
25From without shall the sword bereave them, and in the chambers, terror -- Both the young man and the virgin, The suckling with the man of gray hairs.
26 "Fy mwriad oedd eu gwasgaru, a pheri i bob coffa amdanynt ddarfod,
26I would say, I will scatter, I will make the remembrance of them to cease from among men,
27 oni bai imi ofni y byddai'r gelyn yn eu gwawdio, a'u gwrthwynebwyr yn camddeall a dweud, 'Ein llaw ni sydd wedi trechu; nid yr ARGLWYDD a wnaeth hyn oll.'"
27If I did not fear provocation from the enemy, Lest their adversaries should misunderstand it, Lest they should say, Our hand is high, and Jehovah has not done all this.
28 Cenedl brin o gyngor ydynt, heb ddealltwriaeth ganddynt;
28For they are a nation void of counsel, And understanding is not in them.
29 gresyn na fyddent yn ddigon doeth i sylweddoli hyn ac i amgyffred beth fydd eu diwedd!
29Oh that they had been wise! they would have understood this, They would have considered their latter end!
30 Sut y gall un ymlid mil, neu ddau yrru myrdd ar ffo, oni bai fod eu Craig wedi eu gwerthu, a'r ARGLWYDD wedi eu caethiwo?
30How could one chase a thousand, And two put ten thousand to flight, Were it not that their Rock had sold them, And Jehovah had delivered them up?
31 Oherwydd nid yw eu craig hwy yn debyg i'n Craig ni, fel y mae ein gelynion yn cydnabod.
31For their rock is not as our Rock: Let our enemies themselves be judges.
32 Daw eu gwinwydd o Sodom ac o feysydd Gomorra; grawnwin gwenwynig sydd arnynt, yn sypiau chwerw.
32For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, And of the fields of Gomorrah: Their grapes are grapes of poison, Bitter are their clusters;
33 Gwenwyn seirff yw eu gwin, poeryn angheuol asbiaid.
33Their wine is the poison of dragons, And the cruel venom of vipers.
34 Onid yw hyn gennyf wrth gefn, wedi ei selio yn fy str,
34Is not this hidden with me, Sealed up among my treasures?
35 mai i mi y perthyn dial a thalu'r pwyth, pan fydd eu troed yn llithro? Yn wir, y mae dydd eu trychineb yn agos, a'u distryw yn brysio atynt.
35Vengeance is mine, and recompense, For the time when their foot shall slip. For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things that shall come upon them make haste.
36 Rhydd yr ARGLWYDD gyfiawnder i'w bobl a bydd yn trugarhau wrth ei weision, pan wl fod eu nerth wedi darfod, ac nad oes ar l na chaeth na rhydd.
36For Jehovah will judge his people, And shall repent in favour of his servants; When he seeth that power is gone, And there is none shut up or left.
37 Yna fe ddywed, "Ble mae eu duwiau, y graig y buont yn ceisio lloches dani,
37And he shall say, Where are their gods, Their rock in whom they trusted,
38 y duwiau oedd yn bwyta braster eu hebyrth ac yn yfed gwin eu diodoffrwm? Bydded iddynt hwy godi a'ch helpu, a bod yn lloches ichwi!
38Who ate the fat of their sacrifices, [And] drank the wine of their drink-offering? Let them rise up and help you, That there may be a protection over you.
39 Gwelwch yn awr mai myfi, myfi yw Ef, ac nad oes Duw ond myfi. Myfi sy'n lladd, a gwneud yn fyw, myfi sy'n archolli, ac yn iachu; ni all neb achub o'm gafael i.
39See now that I, I am HE, And there is no god with me; I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal, And there is none that delivereth out of my hand,
40 "Codaf fy llaw tua'r nef, a dweud: Cyn sicred 'm bod yn byw'n dragywydd,
40For I lift up my hand to the heavens, and say, I live for ever!
41 os hogaf fy nghleddyf disglair, a chydio ynddo 'm llaw mewn barn, byddaf yn dial ar fy ngwrthwynebwyr ac yn talu'r pwyth i'r rhai sy'n fy nghasu.
41If I have sharpened my gleaming sword, And my hand take hold of judgment, I will render vengeance to mine adversaries, And will recompense them that hate me.
42 Gwnaf fy saethau yn feddw gwaed, a bydd fy nghleddyf yn bwyta cnawd, sef gwaed y clwyfedig a'r carcharorion, a phennau arweinwyr y gelyn."
42Mine arrows will I make drunk with blood, And my sword shall devour flesh; [I will make them drunk] with the blood of the slain and of the captives, With the head of the princes of the enemy.
43 Bloeddiwch fawl ei bobl, O genhedloedd, oherwydd y mae'n dial gwaed ei weision! Daw dial ar ei wrthwynebwyr, ac arbed ei dir a'i bobl ei hun.
43Shout for joy, ye nations, with his people, For he avengeth the blood of his servants, And rendereth vengeance to his enemies, And maketh atonement for his land, for his people.
44 Wedi i Moses ddod gyda Josua fab Nun, llefarodd holl eiriau'r gerdd hon yng nghlyw'r bobl.
44And Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Hoshea the son of Nun.
45 Pan orffennodd Moses lefaru'r holl eiriau hyn wrth Israel gyfan,
45And when Moses had ended speaking all these words to all Israel,
46 meddai wrthynt, "Ystyriwch yn eich calon yr holl eiriau yr wyf yn eu hargymell ichwi heddiw, er mwyn ichwi eu gorchymyn i'ch plant, ac iddynt hwythau ofalu cadw holl eiriau'r gyfraith hon.
46he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words that I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to take heed to do, all the words of this law.
47 Oherwydd nid gair dibwys yw hwn i chwi, ond dyma eich bywyd; trwy'r gair hwn yr estynnwch eich dyddiau yn y wlad yr ydych ar fynd dros yr Iorddonen i'w meddiannu."
47For it is no vain word for you, but it is your life, and through this word ye shall prolong your days on the land whereunto ye pass over the Jordan to possess it.
48 Yn ystod yr un diwrnod llefarodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Moses a dweud,
48And Jehovah spoke to Moses that same day, saying,
49 "Dos i fyny yma i fynydd-dir Abarim, i Fynydd Nebo yng ngwlad Moab, gyferbyn Jericho; ac yna edrych ar wlad Canaan, y wlad yr wyf yn ei rhoi i'r Israeliaid yn etifeddiaeth.
49Go up into this mountain Abarim, mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, which is opposite Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession,
50 Yno, ar y mynydd y byddi'n ei ddringo, y byddi farw, ac y cesglir di at dy bobl, fel y bu i'th frawd Aaron farw ym Mynydd Hor, a'i gasglu at ei bobl,
50and die on the mountain whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy peoples, as Aaron thy brother died on mount Hor, and was gathered unto his peoples;
51 am ichwi fod yn anffyddlon imi yng nghanol yr Israeliaid wrth ddyfroedd Meriba-cades yn anialwch Sin, trwy beidio mynegi fy sancteiddrwydd ymysg yr Israeliaid.
51because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye hallowed me not in the midst of the children of Israel.
52 Fe gei weld y wlad yn y pellter, ond ni chei ddod drosodd i'r wlad yr wyf yn ei rhoi i'r Israeliaid."
52For thou shalt see the land before [thee]; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.
