¹ Y noson honno yr oedd y brenin yn methu cysgu, a gorchmynnodd iddynt ddod � llyfr y cofiadur, sef y cronicl, ac fe'i darllenwyd iddo.

¹On that night sleep fled from the king. And he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.

² Ynddo cofnodwyd yr hyn a ddywedodd Mordecai am Bigthana a Theres, dau eunuch y brenin oedd yn gofalu am y porth ac oedd wedi cynllwyn i ymosod ar y brenin.

²And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, keepers of the threshold, who had sought to lay hand on king Ahasuerus.

³ Dywedodd y brenin, "Pa glod ac anrhydedd a gafodd Mordecai am hyn?" Atebodd y llanciau oedd yn gweini ar y brenin nad oedd wedi derbyn dim.

³And the king said, What honour and dignity has been done to Mordecai for this? And the king's servants that attended upon him said, Nothing has been done for him.

⁴ Gofynnodd y brenin, "Pwy sydd yn y cyntedd?" Yr oedd Haman newydd ddod i gyntedd allanol tu375?'r brenin i ddweud wrtho am grogi Mordecai ar y crocbren yr oedd wedi ei baratoi ar ei gyfer.

⁴And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman had come into the outward court of the king's house, to speak to the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.

⁵ Dywedodd gweision y brenin wrtho, "Haman sy'n sefyll yn y cyntedd." a galwodd y brenin ar Haman i ddod i mewn.

⁵And the king's servants said to him, Behold, Haman is standing in the court. And the king said, Let him come in.

⁶ Daeth Haman ymlaen, ac meddai'r brenin wrtho, "Beth ddylid ei wneud i'r dyn y mae'r brenin yn dymuno'i anrhydeddu?" Ac meddai Haman wrtho'i hun, "Pwy fyddai'r brenin yn dymuno'i anrhydeddu yn fwy na mi?"

⁶So Haman came in. And the king said to him, What is to be done with the man whom the king delights to honour? Now Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to me?

⁷ Dywedodd wrth y brenin, "I'r dyn y mae'r brenin yn dymuno'i anrhydeddu,

⁷And Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delights to honour,

⁸ dylid dod � gwisg frenhinol a wisgir gan y brenin, a cheffyl y marchoga'r brenin arno, un y mae arfbais y brenin ar ei dalcen.

⁸let the royal apparel be brought with which the king arrays himself, and the horse that the king rides upon, and on the head of which the royal crown is set;

⁹ Rhodder y wisg a'r ceffyl i un o dywysogion pwysicaf y brenin, a gwisged yntau'r dyn y mae'r brenin yn dymuno'i anrhydeddu, a'i arwain trwy sgw�r y ddinas ar gefn y ceffyl, a chyhoeddi o'i flaen fel hyn: 'Dyma sy'n digwydd i'r dyn y mae'r brenin yn dymuno'i anrhydeddu.'"

⁹and let the apparel and horse be delivered into the hand of one of the king's most noble princes, and let them array the man whom the king delights to honour, and cause him to ride on the horse through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honour!

¹⁰ Yna dywedodd y brenin wrth Haman, "Dos ar frys i gael y wisg a'r ceffyl fel y dywedaist, a gwna hyn i Mordecai yr Iddew, sy'n eistedd ym mhorth y brenin. Gofala wneud popeth a ddywedaist."

¹⁰And the king said to Haman, Make haste, take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do so to Mordecai the Jew, who sits at the king's gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast said.

¹¹ Felly cymerodd Haman y wisg a'r ceffyl; gwisgodd Mordecai a'i arwain ar gefn y ceffyl trwy sgw�r y ddinas, a chyhoeddi o'i flaen: "Dyma sy'n digwydd i'r dyn y mae'r brenin yn dymuno'i anrhydeddu."

¹¹And Haman took the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and caused him to ride through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honour!

¹² Yna dychwelodd Mordecai i borth y brenin, ond brysiodd Haman adref yn drist, � gorchudd am ei ben.

¹²And Mordecai came again to the king's gate. But Haman hasted to his house, mourning and having his head covered.

¹³ Dywedodd wrth ei wraig Seres a'i holl gyfeillion am y cyfan a ddigwyddodd iddo. Ac meddai ei wu375?r doeth a'i wraig Seres wrtho, "Os yw Mordecai, yr wyt yn dechrau cwympo o'i flaen, yn Iddew, ni orchfygi di mohono; ond yr wyt ti'n sicr o gael dy drechu ganddo ef."

¹³And Haman recounted to Zeresh his wife and to all his friends all that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife to him, If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but wilt certainly fall before him.

¹⁴ Tra oeddent yn siarad ag ef, daeth eunuchiaid y brenin a mynd � Haman ar frys i'r wledd a barat�dd Esther.

¹⁴While they were yet talking with him, the king's chamberlains came, and hasted to bring Haman to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
