Darby's Translation

Galatians

1

1 Paul, apostol nid o benodiad dynol, na chwaith trwy awdurdod neb dynol, ond trwy awdurdod Iesu Grist a Duw Dad, yr hwn a'i cyfododd ef oddi wrth y meirw Paul,
1Paul, apostle, not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God [the] Father who raised him from among [the] dead,
2 a'r credinwyr oll sydd gyda mi, at eglwysi Galatia.
2and all the brethren with me, to the assemblies of Galatia.
3 Gras a thangnefedd i chwi oddi wrth Dduw ein Tad a'r Arglwydd Iesu Grist,
3Grace to you, and peace, from God [the] Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ,
4 yr hwn a'i rhoes ei hun dros ein pechodau ni, i'n gwaredu ni o'r oes ddrwg bresennol, yn l ewyllys Duw ein Tad,
4who gave himself for our sins, so that he should deliver us out of the present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father;
5 i'r hwn y bo'r gogoniant byth bythoedd! Amen.
5to whom [be] glory to the ages of ages. Amen.
6 Yr wyf yn synnu eich bod yn cefnu mor fuan ar yr hwn a'ch galwodd chwi trwy ras Crist, ac yn troi at efengyl wahanol.
6I wonder that ye thus quickly change, from him that called you in Christ's grace, to a different gospel,
7 Nid ei bod yn efengyl arall mewn gwirionedd, ond bod rhywrai, yn eu hawydd i wyrdroi Efengyl Crist, yn aflonyddu arnoch.
7which is not another [one]; but there are some that trouble you, and desire to pervert the glad tidings of the Christ.
8 Ond petai rhywun, ni ein hunain hyd yn oed, neu angel o'r nef, yn pregethu i chwi efengyl sy'n groes i'r Efengyl a bregethasom ichwi, melltith arno!
8But if even *we* or an angel out of heaven announce as glad tidings to you [anything] besides what we have announced as glad tidings to you, let him be accursed.
9 Fel yr ydym wedi dweud o'r blaen, felly yr wyf yn dweud eto yn awr: os oes rhywun yn pregethu efengyl i chwi sy'n groes i'r Efengyl a dderbyniasoch, melltith arno!
9As we have said before, now also again I say, If any one announce to you as glad tidings [anything] besides what ye have received, let him be accursed.
10 Pwy yr wyf am ei gael o'm plaid yn awr, ai dynion, ai Duw? Ai ceisio plesio dynion yr wyf? Pe bawn 'm bryd o hyd ar blesio dynion, nid gwas i Grist fyddwn.
10For do I now seek to satisfy men or God? or do I seek to please men? If I were yet pleasing men, I were not Christ's bondman.
11 Yr wyf am roi ar ddeall i chwi, gyfeillion, am yr Efengyl a bregethwyd gennyf fi, nad rhywbeth dynol mohoni.
11But I let you know, brethren, [as to] the glad tidings which were announced by me, that they are not according to man.
12 Oherwydd nid ei derbyn fel traddodiad dynol a wneuthum, na chael fy nysgu ynddi chwaith; trwy ddatguddiad Iesu Grist y cefais hi.
12For neither did I receive them from man, neither was I taught [them], but by revelation of Jesus Christ.
13 Oherwydd fe glywsoch am fy ymarweddiad gynt yn y grefydd Iddewig, imi fod yn erlid eglwys Dduw i'r eithaf ac yn ceisio'i difrodi hi,
13For ye have heard [what was] my conversation formerly in Judaism, that I excessively persecuted the assembly of God, and ravaged it;
14 ac imi gael y blaen, fel crefyddwr Iddewig, ar gyfoedion lawer yn fy nghenedl, gan gymaint mwy fy sl dros draddodiadau fy hynafiaid.
14and advanced in Judaism beyond many [my] contemporaries in my nation, being exceedingly zealous of the doctrines of my fathers.
15 Ond dyma Dduw, a'm neilltuodd o groth fy mam ac a'm galwodd trwy ei ras, yn dewis
15But when God, who set me apart [even] from my mother's womb, and called [me] by his grace,
16 datguddio ei Fab ynof fi, er mwyn i mi ei bregethu ymhlith y Cenhedloedd; ac ar unwaith, heb ymgynghori neb dynol,
16was pleased to reveal his Son in me, that I may announce him as glad tidings among the nations, immediately I took not counsel with flesh and blood,
17 a heb fynd i fyny i Jerwsalem chwaith at y rhai oedd yn apostolion o'm blaen i, euthum i ffwrdd i Arabia, ac yna dychwelyd i Ddamascus.
17nor went I up to Jerusalem to those [who were] apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and again returned to Damascus.
18 Wedyn, ar l tair blynedd, mi euthum i fyny i Jerwsalem i ymgydnabyddu Ceffas, ac arhosais gydag ef am bythefnos.
18Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to make acquaintance with Peter, and I remained with him fifteen days;
19 Ni welais neb arall o'r apostolion, ar wahn i Iago, brawd yr Arglwydd.
19but I saw none other of the apostles, but James the brother of the Lord.
20 Gerbron Duw, nid celwydd yr wyf yn ei ysgrifennu atoch.
20Now what I write to you, behold, before God, I do not lie.
21 Wedyn euthum i diriogaethau Syria a Cilicia.
21Then I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
22 Nid oedd gan y cynulleidfaoedd sydd yng Nghrist yn Jwdea ddim adnabyddiaeth bersonol ohonof,
22But I was unknown personally to the assemblies of Judaea which [are] in Christ;
23 dim ond eu bod yn clywed rhai'n dweud, "Y mae ein herlidiwr gynt yn awr yn pregethu'r ffydd yr oedd yn ceisio'i difrodi o'r blaen."
23only they were hearing that he who persecuted us formerly now announces the glad tidings of the faith which formerly he ravaged:
24 Ac yr oeddent yn gogoneddu Duw o'm hachos i.
24and they glorified God in me.
