1 O blith dynion y bydd pob archoffeiriad yn cael ei ddewis, ac ar ran pobl feidrol y caiff ei benodi i'w cynrychioli mewn materion yn ymwneud Duw, i offrymu rhoddion ac aberthau dros bechodau.
1For every high priest taken from amongst men is established for men in things relating to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins;
2 Y mae'n gallu cydymddwyn 'r rhai anwybodus a chyfeiliornus, gan ei fod yntau hefyd wedi ei amgylchu  gwendid;
2being able to exercise forbearance towards the ignorant and erring, since he himself also is clothed with infirmity;
3 ac oherwydd y gwendid hwn, rhaid iddo offrymu dros bechodau ar ei ran ei hun, fel ar ran y bobl.
3and, on account of this [infirmity], he ought, even as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
4 Nid oes neb yn cymryd yr anrhydedd iddo'i hun; Duw sydd yn ei alw, fel y galwodd Aaron.
4And no one takes the honour to himself but [as] called by God, even as Aaron also.
5 Felly hefyd gyda Christ. Nid ei ogoneddu ei hun i fod yn archoffeiriad a wnaeth, ond Duw a ddywedodd wrtho: "Fy Mab wyt ti, myfi a'th genhedlodd di heddiw."
5Thus the Christ also has not glorified himself to be made a high priest; but he who had said to him, *Thou* art my Son, *I* have to-day begotten thee.
6 Fel y mae'n dweud mewn lle arall hefyd: "Yr wyt ti'n offeiriad am byth yn l urdd Melchisedec."
6Even as also in another [place] he says, *Thou* [art] a priest for ever according to the order of Melchisedec.
7 Yn nyddiau ei gnawd, fe offrymodd Iesu weddau ac erfyniadau, gyda llef uchel a dagrau, i'r Un oedd yn abl i'w achub rhag marwolaeth, ac fe gafodd ei wrando o achos ei barchedig ofn.
7Who in the days of his flesh, having offered up both supplications and entreaties to him who was able to save him out of death, with strong crying and tears; (and having been heard because of his piety;)
8 Er mai Mab ydoedd, dysgodd ufudd-dod drwy'r hyn a ddioddefodd,
8though he were Son, he learned obedience from the things which he suffered;
9 ac wedi ei berffeithio, daeth yn ffynhonnell iachawdwriaeth dragwyddol i bawb sydd yn ufuddhau iddo,
9and having been perfected, became to all them that obey him, author of eternal salvation;
10 wedi ei enwi gan Dduw yn archoffeiriad yn l urdd Melchisedec.
10addressed by God [as] high priest according to the order of Melchisedec.
11 Am Melchisedec y mae gennym lawer i'w ddweud sydd yn anodd ei egluro, oherwydd eich bod chwi wedi mynd yn araf i ddeall.
11Concerning whom we have much to say, and hard to be interpreted in speaking [of it], since ye are become dull in hearing.
12 Yn wir, er y dylech erbyn hyn fod yn athrawon, y mae arnoch angen rhywun i ailddysgu ichwi elfennau cyntaf oraclau Duw; angen llaeth sydd arnoch chwi, ac nid bwyd cryf.
12For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have again need that [one] should teach you what [are] the elements of the beginning of the oracles of God, and are become such as have need of milk, [and] not of solid food.
13 Nid oes gan y sawl sy'n byw ar laeth ddim profiad o egwyddor cyfiawnder, am mai baban ydyw.
13For every one that partakes of milk [is] unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe;
14 Pobl wedi cyrraedd eu llawn dwf sy'n cymryd bwyd cryf; y mae eu synhwyrau hwy, trwy ymarfer, wedi eu disgyblu i farnu rhwng da a drwg.
14but solid food belongs to full-grown men, who, on account of habit, have their senses exercised for distinguishing both good and evil.
