Darby's Translation

Hosea

9

1 Paid llawenychu, Israel. Paid gorfoleddu fel y bobloedd; canys puteiniaist a gadael dy Dduw, ceraist am dl ar bob llawr dyrnu.
1Rejoice not, Israel, exultingly, as the peoples; for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved harlot's hire upon every corn-floor.
2 Ni fydd llawr dyrnu a gwinwryf yn eu porthi hwy; bydd y gwin newydd yn eu siomi.
2The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail her.
3 Nid arhosant yn nhir yr ARGLWYDD; ond dychwel Effraim i'r Aifft, a bwytnt beth aflan yn Asyria.
3They shall not dwell in Jehovah's land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and in Assyria shall they eat that which is unclean.
4 Ni thywalltant win yn offrwm i'r ARGLWYDD, ac ni fodlonir ef 'u haberthau; byddant iddynt fel bara galarwyr, sy'n halogi pawb sy'n ei fwyta. Canys at eu hangen eu hunain y bydd eu bara, ac ni ddaw i du375?'r ARGLWYDD.
4They shall pour out no [offerings of] wine to Jehovah, neither shall their sacrifices be pleasing unto him: they shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be defiled: for their bread shall be for themselves; it shall not come into the house of Jehovah.
5 Beth a wnewch ar ddydd yr u373?yl sefydlog, ar ddydd uchel u373?yl yr ARGLWYDD?
5What will ye do in the day of assembly, and in the day of the feast of Jehovah?
6 Canys wele, ffoant rhag dinistr; bydd yr Aifft yn eu casglu, a Memffis yn eu claddu; bydd danadl yn meddiannu eu trysorau arian, a drain fydd yn eu pebyll.
6For behold, they are gone away because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Moph shall bury them: their pleasant things of silver, nettles shall possess them; thorns shall be in their tents.
7 Daeth dyddiau cosbi, dyddiau i dalu'r pwyth, a darostyngir Israel. "Ffu373?l yw'r proffwyd, gwallgof yw gu373?r yr ysbryd." O achos dy ddrygioni mawr bydd dy elyniaeth yn fawr.
7The days of visitation are come; the days of recompence are come: Israel shall know [it]: the prophet is a fool, the inspired man is mad, because of the greatness of thine iniquity, and the great enmity.
8 Y mae'r proffwyd yn wyliwr i Effraim, pobl fy Nuw, ond y mae magl heliwr ar ei holl ffyrdd a gelyniaeth yn nhu375? ei Duw.
8Is Ephraim a watchman with my God? [nay] the prophet is a fowler's snare on all his ways, enmity in the house of his God.
9 Syrthiasant yn ddwfn i lygredd, fel yn nyddiau Gibea. Fe gofia Duw eu drygioni a chosbi eu pechodau.
9They have deeply corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
10 "Fel grawnwin yn yr anialwch y cefais hyd i Israel; fel blaenffrwyth ar ffigysbren newydd y gwelais eich tadau. Ond aethant i Baal-peor, a'u rhoi eu hunain i warth eilun; ac aethant mor ffiaidd gwrthrych eu serch.
10I found Israel as grapes in the wilderness; as first-ripe fruit on the fig-tree, I saw your fathers at the beginning: they went to Baal-Peor, and separated themselves unto that shame, and became abominations like their lover.
11 Bydd gogoniant Effraim yn ehedeg ymaith fel aderyn; ni bydd na geni, na chario plant na beichiogi.
11As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away as a bird, -- no birth, no pregnancy, no conception!
12 Pe magent blant, fe'u gwnawn yn llwyr amddifad. Gwae hwy pan ymadawaf oddi wrthynt!
12For even should they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, [that] not a man [remain]: for woe also to them when I shall have departed from them!
13 Yn l a welais, bydd Effraim yn gwneud ei feibion yn ysglyfaeth, ac yn dwyn ei blant allan i'r lladdfa."
13Ephraim, as I saw [him], was a Tyre planted in a beautiful place; but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the slayer.
14 Dyro iddynt, ARGLWYDD beth a roddi? Dyro iddynt groth yn erthylu, a bronnau hysbion.
14Give them, Jehovah -- what wilt thou give? -- give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
15 "Yn Gilgal y mae eu holl ddrygioni; yno'n wir y rhois fy nghas arnynt. Oherwydd eu gweithredoedd drygionus, gyrraf hwy allan o'm tu375?. Ni charaf hwy ychwaneg; gwrthryfelwyr yw eu holl dywysogion.
15All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them: because of the wickedness of their doings, I will drive them out of my house, I will love them no more: all their princes are rebellious.
16 "Trawyd Effraim. Sychodd eu gwraidd; ni ddygant ffrwyth. Er iddynt eni plant, lladdaf anwyliaid eu crothau."
16Ephraim is smitten: their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit; yea, though they should bring forth, yet will I slay the beloved [fruit] of their womb.
17 Bydd fy Nuw yn eu gwrthod, am iddynt beidio gwrando arno; byddant yn grwydriaid ymysg y cenhedloedd.
17My God hath rejected them, because they hearkened not unto him; and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
