¹ Pan glywodd y Brenin Heseceia yr hanes, rhwygodd yntau ei ddillad a rhoi sachliain amdano a mynd i du375?'r ARGLWYDD,

¹And it came to pass when king Hezekiah heard [it], that he rent his garments, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of Jehovah.

² ac anfon Eliacim arolygwr y palas, a Sebna yr ysgrifennydd, a'r rhai hynaf o'r offeiriaid, i gyd mewn sachliain, at y proffwyd Eseia fab Amos,

²And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz.

³ i ddweud wrtho, "Fel hyn y dywed Heseceia: 'Y mae heddiw'n ddydd o gyfyngder a cherydd a gwarth; y mae fel pe bai plant ar fin cael eu geni, a'r fam heb nerth i esgor arnynt.

³And they said to him, Thus says Hezekiah: This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of reviling; for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.

⁴ O na fyddai'r ARGLWYDD dy Dduw yn gwrando ar eiriau'r prif swyddog a anfonwyd gan ei feistr, brenin Asyria, i gablu'r Duw byw, a hefyd yn ei geryddu am y geiriau a glywodd yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw! Dos i weddi dros y gweddill sydd ar �l.'"

⁴It may be Jehovah thy God will hear the words of Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to reproach the living God, and will rebuke the words which Jehovah thy God hath heard. Therefore lift up a prayer for the remnant that is left.

⁵ Pan ddaeth gweision y Brenin Heseceia at Eseia,

⁵And the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

⁶ dywedodd Eseia wrthynt, "Dywedwch wrth eich meistr, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Paid ag ofni'r pethau a glywaist pan oedd llanciau brenin Asyria yn fy nghablu.

⁶And Isaiah said to them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith Jehovah: Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

⁷ Edrych, 'rwy'n rhoi ysbryd ynddo, ac fe glyw si fydd yn peri iddo ddychwelyd i'w wlad; hefyd, gwnaf iddo syrthio gan y cleddyf yn y wlad honno.'"

⁷Behold, I will put a spirit into him, and he shall hear tidings, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

⁸ Pan ddychwelodd y prif swyddog, cafodd ar ddeall fod brenin Asyria wedi gadael Lachis, a'i fod yn rhyfela yn erbyn Libna.

⁸And Rab-shakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah; for he had heard that he had departed from Lachish.

⁹ Ond pan ddeallodd fod Tirhaca brenin Ethiopia ar ei ffordd i ryfela yn ei erbyn, fe anfonodd genhadau eilwaith at Heseceia a dweud,

⁹And he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, He has come forth to make war with thee. And when he heard [it], he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,

¹⁰ "Dywedwch wrth Heseceia brenin Jwda, 'Paid � chymryd dy dwyllo gan dy Dduw, yr wyt yn ymddiried ynddo, ac sy'n dweud na roddir Jerwsalem i afael brenin Asyria.

¹⁰Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying: Let not thy God, upon whom thou reliest, deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

¹¹ Y mae'n siu373?r dy fod wedi clywed am yr hyn a wnaeth brenhinoedd Asyria i'r holl wledydd, a'u bod wedi eu difrodi; a gei di dy arbed?

¹¹Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all countries, destroying them utterly; and shalt thou be delivered?

¹² A waredodd duwiau'r cenhedloedd hwy � y cenhedloedd a ddinistriodd fy hynafiaid, fel Gosan a Haran a Reseff, a pobl Eden a drigai yn Telassar?

¹²Have the gods of the nations which my fathers have destroyed delivered them, Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden that were in Thelassar?

¹³ Ple mae brenhinoedd Hamath, Arpad, Lahir, Seffarfaim, Hena ac Ifa?'"

¹³Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah?

¹⁴ Cymerodd Heseceia'r neges gan y cenhadau a'i darllen. Yna aeth i fyny i du375?'r ARGLWYDD, a'i hagor yng ngu373?ydd yr ARGLWYDD,

¹⁴And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up into the house of Jehovah, and spread it before Jehovah.

¹⁵ a gwedd�o fel hyn:

¹⁵And Hezekiah prayed to Jehovah, saying,

¹⁶ "O ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd, Duw Israel, sydd wedi ei orseddu ar y cerwbiaid, ti yn unig sydd Dduw dros holl deyrnasoedd y byd; tydi a wnaeth y nefoedd a'r ddaear.

¹⁶Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, who sittest [between] the cherubim, thou, the Same, thou alone art the God of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made the heavens and the earth.

¹⁷ O ARGLWYDD, gogwydda dy glust a chlyw; O ARGLWYDD, agor dy lygaid a gw�l; gwrando'r neges a anfonodd Senacherib i watwar y Duw byw.

¹⁷Incline thine ear, O Jehovah, and hear; open, Jehovah, thine eyes, and see; and hear all the words of Sennacherib, who hath sent to reproach the living God.

¹⁸ Y mae'n wir, O ARGLWYDD, fod brenhinoedd Asyria wedi difa'r holl genhedloedd a'r gwledydd,

¹⁸Of a truth, Jehovah, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the lands, and their countries,

¹⁹ a thaflu eu duwiau i'r t�n; cawsant eu dinistrio am nad duwiau mohonynt, eithr gwaith dwylo dynol, o goed a charreg.

¹⁹and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone; and they have destroyed them.

²⁰ Yn awr, O ARGLWYDD ein Duw, gwared ni o'i afael ef, ac yna caiff holl deyrnasoedd y ddaear wybod mai ti yw'r ARGLWYDD, tydi yn unig."

²⁰And now, Jehovah our God, save us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art Jehovah, thou only.

²¹ Anfonodd Eseia fab Amos at Heseceia a dweud, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Israel: Oherwydd i ti wedd�o arnaf ynghylch Senacherib brenin Asyria,

²¹And Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith Jehovah the God of Israel, Whereas thou hast prayed to me concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria,

²² dyma'r gair a lefarodd yr ARGLWYDD yn ei erbyn ef: 'Y mae'r forwyn, merch Seion, yn dy ddirmygu, yn chwerthin am dy ben; y mae merch Jerwsalem yn ysgwyd ei phen ar dy �l.

²²this is the word which Jehovah hath spoken against him: The virgin-daughter of Zion despiseth thee, laugheth thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem shaketh her head at thee.

²³ Pwy wyt ti yn ei ddifenwi ac yn ei gablu? Yn erbyn pwy yr wyt yn codi dy lais? Yr wyt yn gwneud ystum dirmygus yn erbyn Sanct Israel.

²³Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted the voice? Against the Holy One of Israel hast thou lifted up thine eyes on high.

²⁴ Trwy dy weision fe geblaist yr ARGLWYDD, a dweud, "Gyda lliaws fy ngherbydau dringais yn uchel i gopa'r mynyddoedd, i bellterau Lebanon; torrais y praffaf o'i gedrwydd, a'r dewisaf o'i ffynidwydd; euthum i'w gwr uchaf, ei lechweddau coediog;

²⁴By thy servants thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the recesses of Lebanon; and I will cut down its tall cedars, the choice of its cypresses; and I will enter into its furthest height, [into] the forest of its fruitful field.

²⁵ cloddiais ffynhonnau ac yfed eu dyfroedd; � gwadn fy nhroed sychais holl ffrydiau'r Neil."

²⁵I have digged and drunk water; and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the streams of Matsor.

²⁶ "'Oni chlywaist i mi wneud hyn erstalwm, ac i mi lunio hyn yn y dyddiau gynt? Bellach 'rwy'n ei ddwyn i ben; bydd dinasoedd caerog yn syrthio yn garneddau wedi eu dinistrio;

²⁶Hast thou not heard that long ago I did it, and that from ancient days I formed it? Now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest lay waste fortified cities [into] ruinous heaps.

²⁷ bydd y trigolion, a'u nerth yn pallu, yn ddigalon ac mewn gwarth, fel gwellt y maes, llysiau gwyrdd a glaswellt pen to wedi eu deifio gan wynt y dwyrain.

²⁷And their inhabitants were powerless, they were dismayed and put to shame; they were [as] the grass of the field and the green herb, [as] the grass on the housetops, and grain blighted before it be grown up.

²⁸ 'Rwy'n gwybod pryd yr wyt yn codi ac yn eistedd, yn mynd allan ac yn dod i mewn, a'r modd yr wyt yn cynddeiriogi yn f'erbyn.

²⁸But I know thine abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy raging against me.

²⁹ Oherwydd dy fod yn gynddeiriog yn f'erbyn, a bod su373?n dy draha yn fy nghlustiau, fe osodaf fy mach yn dy ffroen a'm ffrwyn yn dy weflau, a'th yrru'n �l ar hyd y ffordd y daethost.'

²⁹Because thy raging against me and thine arrogance is come up into mine ears, I will put my ring in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will make thee go back by the way by which thou camest.

³⁰ "Bydd hyn yn arwydd i ti, Heseceia. Eleni bwyteir yr hyn sy'n tyfu ohono'i hun, a'r flwyddyn nesaf yr hyn sydd wedi ei hau ohono'i hun; ac yn y drydedd flwyddyn cewch hau a medi, a phlannu gwinllannoedd hefyd a bwyta'u ffrwyth.

³⁰And this [shall be] the sign unto thee: there shall be eaten this year such as groweth of itself; and in the second year that which springeth of the same; but in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards and eat the fruit thereof.

³¹ Bydd y dihangol a adewir yn nhu375? Jwda yn gwreiddio at i lawr ac yn ffrwytho at i fyny;

³¹And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward;

³² oherwydd allan o Jerwsalem fe ddaw gweddill, a rhai dihangol allan o Fynydd Seion. S�l ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd a wna hyn.

³²for out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and out of mount Zion they that escape: the zeal of Jehovah of hosts shall do this.

³³ "Am hynny, fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD am frenin Asyria: 'Ni ddaw ef i mewn i'r ddinas hon, nac anfon saeth i mewn iddi; nid ymosoda arni � tharian, na chodi clawdd yn ei herbyn.

³³Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning the king of Assyria: He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.

³⁴ Ar hyd y ffordd y daeth fe ddychwel, ac ni ddaw i mewn i'r ddinas hon,' medd yr ARGLWYDD.

³⁴By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith Jehovah.

³⁵ 'Amddiffynnaf y ddinas hon i'w gwaredu, er fy mwyn fy hun ac er mwyn fy ngwas Dafydd.'"

³⁵And I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

³⁶ Yna aeth angel yr ARGLWYDD i wersyll yr Asyriaid a tharo i lawr gant wyth deg a phump o filoedd; pan ddaeth y bore, cafwyd hwy i gyd yn gelanedd meirwon.

³⁶And an angel of Jehovah went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and eighty-five thousand. And when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead bodies.

³⁷ Yna aeth Senacherib brenin Asyria i ffwrdd a dychwelyd i Ninefe ac aros yno.

³⁷And Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and abode at Nineveh.

³⁸ Pan oedd yn addoli yn nheml ei dduw Nisroch, daeth ei feibion Adram�melech a Sareser a'i ladd �'r cleddyf, ac yna dianc i wlad Ararat. Daeth ei fab Esarhadon i'r orsedd yn ei le.

³⁸And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.
