1 Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrthyf, "Cymer sgrl fawr ac ysgrifenna arni mewn llythrennau eglur, 'I Maher-shalalhas-bas';
1And Jehovah said to me, Take thee a great tablet, and write thereon with a man's style, concerning Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
2 a galw yn dystion cywir i mi Ureia yr offeiriad a Sechareia fab Jeberecheia."
2And I took unto me to witness, sure witnesses, Urijah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.
3 Yna euthum at y broffwydes; beichiogodd hithau ac esgor ar fab, a dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrthyf, "Galw ei enw Mahershalal-has-bas,
3And I came near to the prophetess, and she conceived and bore a son; and Jehovah said unto me, Call his name, Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
4 oherwydd cyn i'r bachgen fedru galw, 'Fy nhad' neu 'Fy mam', bydd golud Damascus ac ysbail Samaria yn cael eu dwyn ymaith o flaen brenin Asyria."
4For before the lad knoweth to cry, My father! and, My mother! the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.
5 Llefarodd yr ARGLWYDD wrthyf drachefn,
5And Jehovah spoke again to me, saying,
6 "Oherwydd i'r bobl hyn wrthod dyfroedd Siloa, sy'n llifo'n dawel, a chrynu gan ofn o flaen Resin a mab Remaleia,
6Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah which flow softly, and rejoiceth in Rezin and in the son of Remaliah,
7 am hynny, bydd yr ARGLWYDD yn dwyn arnynt ddyfroedd yr Ewffrates, yn gryf ac yn fawr, brenin Asyria a'i holl ogoniant. Fe lifa dros ei holl sianelau, a thorri dros ei holl gamlesydd;
7therefore behold, the Lord will bring up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, the king of Assyria and all his glory; and he shall mount up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:
8 fe ysguba trwy Jwda fel dilyw, a gorlifo nes cyrraedd at y gwddf. Bydd cysgod ei adenydd yn llenwi holl led dy dir, O Immanuel."
8and he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow it and go further, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel!
9 Ystyriwch, bobloedd, fe'ch dryllir; gwrandewch, chwi bellafion byd; ymwregyswch, ac fe'ch dryllir; ymwregyswch, ac fe'ch dryllir.
9Rage, ye peoples, and be broken in pieces! And give ear, all ye distant parts of the earth: Gird yourselves, and be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and be broken in pieces!
10 Lluniwch gyngor, ac fe'i diddymir; dywedwch air, ac ni saif, Oherwydd y mae Duw gyda ni.
10Settle a plan, and it shall come to nought; speak a word, and it shall not stand: for ùGod is with us.
11 Fel hyn y dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrthyf, pan oedd yn gafael yn dynn ynof ac yn fy rhybuddio rhag rhodio yn llwybrau'r bobl hyn:
11For Jehovah spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and he instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,
12 "Peidiwch dweud 'Cynllwyn!' am bob peth a elwir yn gynllwyn gan y bobl hyn; a pheidiwch ag ofni'r hyn y maent hwy yn ei ofni, nac arswydo rhagddo.
12Ye shall not say, Conspiracy, of everything of which this people saith, Conspiracy; and fear ye not their fear, and be not in dread.
13 Ond ystyriwch yn sanctaidd ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd; ofnwch ef, ac arswydwch rhagddo ef.
13Jehovah of hosts, him shall ye sanctify; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
14 Bydd ef yn fagl, ac i ddau du375? Israel bydd yn faen tramgwydd ac yn graig rhwystr; bydd yn rhwyd ac yn fagl i drigolion Jerwsalem.
14And he will be for a sanctuary; and for a stone of stumbling, and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 A bydd llawer yn baglu drostynt; syrthiant, ac fe'u dryllir; cnt eu baglu a'u dal."
15And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
16 Rhwyma'r dystiolaeth, selia'r gyfraith ymhlith fy nisgyblion.
16Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
17 Disgwyliaf finnau am yr ARGLWYDD, sy'n cuddio'i wyneb rhag tu375? Jacob; arhosaf yn eiddgar amdano.
17And I will wait for Jehovah, who hideth his face from the house of Jacob; and I will look for him.
18 Wele fi a'r meibion a roes yr ARGLWDD i mi yn arwyddion ac yn argoelion yn Israel oddi wrth ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd, sy'n trigo ym Mynydd Seion.
18Behold, I and the children that Jehovah hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel, from Jehovah of hosts, who dwelleth in mount Zion.
19 A phan fydd y bobl yn dweud wrthych, "Ewch i ymofyn 'r swynwyr a'r dewiniaid sy'n sisial a sibrwd", onid yw'r bobl yn ymhl 'r duwiau, ac yn ymofyn 'r meirw dros y byw
19And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto the necromancers and unto the soothsayers, who chirp and who mutter, [say,] Shall not a people seek unto their God? [Will they go] for the living unto the dead?
20 am gyfarwyddyd a thystiolaeth? Dyma'r gair a ddywedant, ac nid oes oleuni ynddo.
20To the law and the testimony! If they speak not according to this word, for them there is no daybreak.
21 Bydd yn tramwy trwy'r wlad mewn caledi a newyn; a phan newyna bydd yn chwerwi, ac yn melltithio ei frenin a'i Dduw.
21And they shall pass through it, hard pressed and hungry; and it shall come to pass when they are hungry, they will fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and will gaze upward:
22 A phan fydd yn troi ei olwg tuag i fyny neu'n edrych tua'r ddaear, wele drallod a thywyllwch, caddug cyfyngder; bydd wedi ei fwrw i dywyllwch du.
22and they will look to the earth; and behold, trouble and darkness, gloom of anguish; and they shall be driven into thick darkness.
