¹ Nesaodd swyddogion y lluoedd, a Johanan fab Carea a Jesaneia fab Hosaia, a'r holl bobl yn fach a mawr,

¹And all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,

² a dweud wrth y proffwyd Jeremeia, "Os gweli'n dda, ystyria'n cais, a gwedd�a drosom ni ar yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw, a thros yr holl weddill hyn, oherwydd gadawyd ni'n ychydig allan o nifer mawr, fel y gweli.

²came near and said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our supplication come before thee, and pray for us unto Jehovah thy God, for all this remnant (for we are left a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us);

³ Dyweded yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw wrthym y ffordd y dylem rodio a'r hyn y dylem ei wneud."

³that Jehovah thy God may shew us the way wherein we should walk, and the thing that we should do.

⁴ Atebodd y proffwyd Jeremeia hwy, "Gwnaf, mi wedd�af drosoch ar yr ARGLWYDD eich Duw yn �l eich cais, a beth bynnag fydd ateb yr ARGLWYDD, fe'i mynegaf heb atal dim oddi wrthych."

⁴And Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard; behold, I will pray unto Jehovah your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass [that] whatsoever thing Jehovah shall answer you, I will declare it unto you: I will keep nothing back from you.

⁵ Dywedasant hwythau wrth Jeremeia, "Bydded yr ARGLWYDD yn dyst cywir a ffyddlon yn ein herbyn os na wnawn yn �l pob gair y bydd yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw yn ei orchymyn inni. Yn sicr, fe'i gwnawn.

⁵And they said to Jeremiah, Jehovah be a true and faithful witness amongst us, if we do not even according to all the word for which Jehovah thy God shall send thee to us.

⁶ Boed dda neu ddrwg, fe wrandawn ni ar yr ARGLWYDD ein Duw, yr anfonwn di ato, fel y byddo'n dda inni; gwrandawn ar yr ARGLWYDD ein Duw."

⁶Whether it be good or whether it be evil, we will hearken unto the voice of Jehovah our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us when we hearken unto the voice of Jehovah our God.

⁷ Ymhen deg diwrnod daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD at Jeremeia,

⁷And it came to pass at the end of ten days, that the word of Jehovah came unto Jeremiah.

⁸ a galwodd ato Johanan fab Carea a swyddogion y lluoedd oedd gydag ef, a'r holl bobl yn fach a mawr,

⁸And he called Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest,

⁹ a dweud wrthynt, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Israel, yr anfonasoch fi ato i gyflwyno eich cais iddo:

⁹and said unto them, Thus saith Jehovah the God of Israel, to whom ye sent me to present your supplication before him:

¹⁰ 'Os arhoswch yn y wlad hon, fe'ch adeiladaf, ac nid eich tynnu i lawr; fe'ch plannaf, ac nid eich diwreiddio, oherwydd rwy'n gofidio am y drwg a wneuthum i chwi.

¹⁰If ye will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not overthrow [you], and I will plant you, and not pluck [you] up; for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.

¹¹ Peidiwch ag ofni rhag brenin Babilon, yr un y mae arnoch ei ofn; peidiwch �'i ofni ef,' medd yr ARGLWYDD, 'canys byddaf gyda chwi i'ch achub a'ch gwaredu o'i afael.

¹¹Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom ye are afraid: be not afraid of him, saith Jehovah; for I will be with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.

¹² Gwnaf drugaredd � chwi, a bydd ef yn trugarhau wrthych ac yn eich adfer i'ch gwlad eich hun.

¹²And I will grant mercies to you, that he may have mercy upon you, and cause you to return to your own land.

¹³ Ond os dywedwch, "Nid arhoswn yn y wlad hon", gan wrthod gwrando ar lais yr ARGLWYDD eich Duw,

¹³But if ye say, We will not dwell in this land; so as not to hearken unto the voice of Jehovah your God,

¹⁴ a dweud, "Nage, ond fe awn i'r Aifft; ni welwn ryfel yno na chlywed sain utgorn na bod mewn newyn am fara, ac yno y trigwn",

¹⁴saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger for bread; and there will we dwell;

¹⁵ yna, clywch air yr ARGLWYDD, chwi weddill Jwda. Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd, Duw Israel: Os mynnwch droi eich wyneb tua'r Aifft, a mynd yno i drigo,

¹⁵-- and now, therefore, hear the word of Jehovah, ye remnant of Judah: thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: If ye really set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to sojourn there,

¹⁶ yna bydd y cleddyf a ofnwch yma yn eich goddiweddyd yno yng ngwlad yr Aifft, a'r newyn sy'n peri pryder ichwi yn eich dilyn i'r Aifft. Ac yno y byddwch farw.

¹⁶then it shall come to pass, that the sword which ye fear shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine, whereof ye are afraid, shall follow hard after you there in Egypt; and there ye shall die.

¹⁷ Trwy gleddyf a newyn a haint bydd farw pob un a dry ei wyneb tua'r Aifft i drigo yno; ni bydd un yn weddill nac yn ddihangol, oherwydd y dialedd a ddygaf arnynt.'

¹⁷And it shall be that all the men that have set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence; and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring upon them.

¹⁸ "Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd, Duw Israel: 'Fel y tywalltwyd fy llid a'm digofaint ar drigolion Jerwsalem, felly y tywelltir fy nigofaint arnoch chwithau pan ewch i'r Aifft. Byddwch yn destun melltith ac arswyd, gwawd a gwarth; ac ni chewch weld y lle hwn byth eto.'

¹⁸For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: As mine anger and my fury have been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so shall my fury be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt; and ye shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach, and ye shall see this place no more.

¹⁹ Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrthych, 'Chwi weddill Jwda, peidiwch � mynd i'r Aifft.' Bydded hysbys i chwi i mi eich rhybuddio heddiw.

¹⁹Jehovah hath said concerning you, the remnant of Judah, Go ye not into Egypt. Know certainly that I have admonished you this day.

²⁰ Twyllo'ch hunain yr oeddech wrth fy anfon i at yr ARGLWYDD eich Duw, a dweud, 'Gwedd�a drosom ar yr ARGLWYDD ein Duw, a mynega i ni bob peth a ddywed yr ARGLWYDD ein Duw; ac fe'i gwnawn.'

²⁰For ye deceived yourselves in your own souls, when ye sent me unto Jehovah your God, saying, Pray for us unto Jehovah our God; and according to all that Jehovah our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do it.

²¹ Mynegais ef i chwi heddiw, ond ni wrandawsoch ar lais yr ARGLWYDD eich Duw mewn dim yr anfonodd fi atoch i'w ddweud.

²¹And I have this day declared [it] to you; but ye have not obeyed the voice of Jehovah your God, nor anything for which he hath sent me unto you.

²² Yn awr, bydded hysbys y byddwch farw trwy gleddyf a newyn a haint yn y lle yr ydych yn dewis mynd iddo i fyw."

²²And now know certainly that ye shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place whither ye desire to go to sojourn.
