Jeremiah

47

1 Dyma air yr ARGLWYDD a ddaeth at y proffwyd Jeremeia ynghylch y Philistiaid, cyn i Pharo daro Gasa.
1The word of Jehovah that came to the prophet Jeremiah concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh smote Gazah.
2 "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: 'Wele , y mae dyfroedd yn tarddu o'r gogledd, ac yn llifeirio'n ffrwd gref; llifant dros y wlad a'i chynnwys, ei dinasoedd a'u preswylwyr. Y mae'r bobl yn gweiddi a holl breswylwyr y wlad yn udo,
2Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall become an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: and the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl,
3 oherwydd su373?n carnau ei feirch yn curo, ac oherwydd trwst ei gerbydau a thwrf yr olwynion. Ni thry'r rhieni'n l i edrych am y plant; gwanychodd eu dwylo gymaint.
3at the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his steeds, at the rushing of his chariots, at the rumbling of his wheels: fathers shall not look back for [their] children, from feebleness of hands;
4 Daeth y dydd i ddinistrio yr holl Philistiaid, i dorri allan o Tyrus ac o Sidon bob un sy'n aros i'w cynorthwyo. Dinistria'r ARGLWYDD y Philistiaid, gweddill ynystir Cafftor.
4because of the day that cometh to lay waste all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper that remaineth; for Jehovah will lay waste the Philistines, the remnant of the island of Caphtor.
5 Daeth moelni ar Gasa, a dinistriwyd Ascalon. Ti, weddill yr Anacim, pa hyd yr archolli dy hun?
5Baldness is come upon Gazah; Ashkelon is cut off, the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?
6 O gleddyf yr ARGLWYDD, pa hyd y byddi heb ymlonyddu? Dychwel i'th wain; gorffwys, a bydd dawel.
6Alas! sword of Jehovah, how long wilt thou not be quiet? Withdraw into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.
7 Pa fodd yr ymlonydda, gan i'r ARGLWYDD ei orchymyn? Yn erbyn Ascalon, ac yn erbyn glan y mr y gosododd ef.'"
7How shouldest thou be quiet? -- For Jehovah hath given it a charge: against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore, there hath he appointed it.
