Darby's Translation

Luke

15

1 Yr oedd yr holl gasglwyr trethi a'r pechaduriaid yn nesu ato i wrando arno.
1And all the tax-gatherers and the sinners were coming near to him to hear him;
2 Ond yr oedd y Phariseaid a'r ysgrifenyddion yn grwgnach ymhlith ei gilydd, gan ddweud, "Y mae hwn yn croesawu pechaduriaid ac yn cydfwyta gyda hwy."
2and the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, This [man] receives sinners and eats with them.
3 A dywedodd ef y ddameg hon wrthynt:
3And he spoke to them this parable, saying,
4 "Bwriwch fod gan un ohonoch chwi gant o ddefaid, a digwydd iddo golli un ohonynt; onid yw'n gadael y naw deg a naw yn yr anialdir ac yn mynd ar l y ddafad golledig nes dod o hyd iddi?
4What man of you having a hundred sheep, and having lost one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
5 Wedi dod o hyd iddi y mae'n ei gosod ar ei ysgwyddau yn llawen,
5and having found it, he lays it upon his own shoulders, rejoicing;
6 yn mynd adref, ac yn gwahodd ei gyfeillion a'i gymdogion ynghyd, gan ddweud wrthynt, 'Llawenhewch gyda mi, oherwydd yr wyf wedi cael hyd i'm dafad golledig.'
6and being come to the house, calls together the friends and the neighbours, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost sheep.
7 Rwy'n dweud wrthych, yr un modd bydd mwy o lawenydd yn y nef am un pechadur sy'n edifarhau nag am naw deg a naw o rai cyfiawn nad oes arnynt angen edifeirwch.
7I say unto you, that thus there shall be joy in heaven for one repenting sinner, [more] than for ninety and nine righteous who have no need of repentance.
8 "Neu bwriwch fod gan wraig ddeg darn arian, a digwydd iddi golli un darn; onid yw hi'n cynnau cannwyll ac yn ysgubo'r tu375? ac yn chwilio'n ddyfal nes dod o hyd iddo?
8Or, what woman having ten drachmas, if she lose one drachma, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek carefully till she find it?
9 Ac wedi dod o hyd iddo, y mae'n gwahodd ei chyfeillesau a'i chymdogion ynghyd, gan ddweud, 'Llawenhewch gyda mi, oherwydd yr wyf wedi cael hyd i'r darn arian a gollais.'
9and having found it she calls together the friends and neighbours, saying, Rejoice with me, for I have found the drachma which I had lost.
10 Yr un modd, rwy'n dweud wrthych, y mae llawenydd ymhlith angylion Duw am un pechadur sy'n edifarhau."
10Thus, I say unto you, there is joy before the angels of God for one repenting sinner.
11 Ac meddai, "Yr oedd dyn a chanddo ddau fab.
11And he said, A certain man had two sons;
12 Dywedodd yr ieuengaf ohonynt wrth ei dad, 'Fy nhad, dyro imi'r gyfran o'th ystad sydd i ddod imi.' A rhannodd yntau ei eiddo rhyngddynt.
12and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give to me the share of the property that falls [to me]. And he divided to them what he was possessed of.
13 Ychydig ddyddiau yn ddiweddarach, wedi newid y cwbl am arian, ymfudodd y mab ieuengaf i wlad bell, ac yno gwastraffodd ei eiddo ar fyw'n afradlon.
13And after not many days the younger son gathering all together went away into a country a long way off, and there dissipated his property, living in debauchery.
14 Pan oedd wedi gwario'r cyfan, daeth newyn enbyd ar y wlad honno, a dechreuodd yntau fod mewn eisiau.
14But when he had spent all there arose a violent famine throughout that country, and he began to be in want.
15 Aeth ac ymlynu wrth un o ddinasyddion y wlad, ac anfonodd hwnnw ef i'w gaeau i ofalu am y moch.
15And he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 Buasai'n falch o wneud pryd o'r plisg yr oedd y moch yn eu bwyta; ond nid oedd neb yn cynnig dim iddo.
16And he longed to fill his belly with the husks which the swine were eating; and no one gave to him.
17 Yna daeth ato'i hun a dweud, 'Faint o weision cyflog sydd gan fy nhad, a phob un ohonynt yn cael mwy na digon o fara, a minnau yma yn marw o newyn?
17And coming to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have abundance of bread, and *I* perish here by famine.
18 Fe godaf, ac fe af at fy nhad a dweud wrtho, "Fy nhad, pechais yn erbyn y nef ac yn dy erbyn di.
18I will rise up and go to my father, and I will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee;
19 Nid wyf mwyach yn haeddu fy ngalw'n fab iti; cymer fi fel un o'th weision cyflog."'
19I am no longer worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
20 Yna cododd a mynd at ei dad. A phan oedd eto ymhell i ffwrdd, gwelodd ei dad ef. Tosturiodd wrtho, rhedodd ato, a rhoes ei freichiau am ei wddf a'i gusanu.
20And he rose up and went to his own father. But while he was yet a long way off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell upon his neck, and covered him with kisses.
21 Ac meddai ei fab wrtho, 'Fy nhad, pechais yn erbyn y nef ac yn dy erbyn di. Nid wyf mwyach yn haeddu fy ngalw'n fab iti.'
21And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee; I am no longer worthy to be called thy son.
22 Ond meddai ei dad wrth ei weision, 'Brysiwch! Dewch gwisg allan, yr orau, a'i gosod amdano. Rhowch fodrwy ar ei fys a sandalau am ei draed.
22But the father said to his bondmen, Bring out the best robe and clothe him in [it], and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet;
23 Dewch 'r llo sydd wedi ei besgi, a lladdwch ef. Gadewch inni wledda a llawenhau,
23and bring the fatted calf and kill it, and let us eat and make merry:
24 oherwydd yr oedd hwn, fy mab, wedi marw, a daeth yn fyw eto; yr oedd ar goll, a chafwyd hyd iddo.' Yna dechreusant wledda yn llawen.
24for this my son was dead and has come to life, was lost and has been found. And they began to make merry.
25 "Yr oedd ei fab hynaf yn y caeau. Pan nesaodd at y tu375? ar ei ffordd adref, clywodd su373?n cerddoriaeth a dawnsio.
25And his elder son was in the field; and as, coming [up], he drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing.
26 Galwodd un o'r gweision ato a gofyn beth oedd ystyr hyn.
26And having called one of the servants, he inquired what these things might be.
27 'Dy frawd sydd wedi dychwelyd,' meddai ef wrtho, 'ac am iddo ei gael yn l yn holliach, y mae dy dad wedi lladd y llo oedd wedi ei besgi.'
27And he said to him, Thy brother is come, and thy father has killed the fatted calf because he has received him safe and well.
28 Digiodd ef, a gwrthod mynd i mewn. Daeth ei dad allan a'i gymell yn daer i'r tu375?,
28But he became angry and would not go in. And his father went out and besought him.
29 ond atebodd ef, 'Yr holl flynyddoedd hyn bm yn was bach iti, heb anufuddhau erioed i'th orchymyn. Ni roddaist erioed i mi gymaint myn gafr, imi gael gwledda gyda'm cyfeillion.
29But he answering said to his father, Behold, so many years I serve thee, and never have I transgressed a commandment of thine; and to me hast thou never given a kid that I might make merry with my friends:
30 Ond pan ddychwelodd hwn, dy fab sydd wedi difa dy eiddo gyda phuteiniaid, lleddaist iddo ef y llo oedd wedi ei besgi.'
30but when this thy son, who has devoured thy substance with harlots, is come, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
31 'Fy mhlentyn,' meddai'r tad wrtho, 'yr wyt ti bob amser gyda mi, ac y mae'r cwbl sydd gennyf yn eiddo i ti.
31But he said to him, Child, *thou* art ever with me, and all that is mine is thine.
32 Yr oedd yn rhaid gwledda a llawenhau, oherwydd yr oedd hwn, dy frawd, wedi marw, a daeth yn fyw; yr oedd ar goll, a chafwyd hyd iddo.'"
32But it was right to make merry and rejoice, because this thy brother was dead and has come to life again, and was lost and has been found.
