1 Daeth y Phariseaid a'r Sadwceaid ato, ac i roi prawf arno gofynasant iddo ddangos iddynt arwydd o'r nef.
1And the Pharisees and Sadducees, coming to [him], asked him, tempting [him], to shew them a sign out of heaven.
2 Ond atebodd ef hwy, "Gyda'r nos fe ddywedwch, 'Bydd yn dywydd teg, oherwydd y mae'r wybren yn goch.'
2But he answering said to them, When evening is come, ye say, Fine weather, for the sky is red;
3 Ac yn y bore, 'Bydd yn stormus heddiw, oherwydd y mae'r wybren yn goch ac yn gymylog.' Gwyddoch sut i ddehongli golwg y ffurfafen, ond ni allwch ddehongli arwyddion yr amserau.
3and in the morning, A storm to-day, for the sky is red [and] lowering; ye know [how] to discern the face of the sky, but ye cannot the signs of the times.
4 Cenhedlaeth ddrygionus ac annuwiol sy'n ceisio arwydd, eto ni roddir arwydd iddi ond arwydd Jona." A gadawodd hwy a mynd ymaith.
4A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and a sign shall not be given to it save the sign of Jonas. And he left them and went away.
5 Pan ddaeth y disgyblion i'r ochr draw yr oeddent wedi anghofio dod bara.
5And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
6 Meddai Iesu wrthynt, "Gwyliwch a gochelwch rhag surdoes y Phariseaid a'r Sadwceaid."
6And Jesus said to them, See and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
7 Ac yr oeddent hwy'n trafod ymhlith ei gilydd gan ddweud, "Ni ddaethom bara."
7And they reasoned among themselves, saying, Because we have taken no bread.
8 Deallodd Iesu a dywedodd, "Chwi o ychydig ffydd, pam yr ydych yn trafod ymhlith eich gilydd nad oes gennych fara? A ydych eto heb weld?
8And Jesus knowing [it], said, Why reason ye among yourselves, O ye of little faith, because ye have taken no bread?
9 Onid ydych yn cofio'r pum torth i'r pum mil a pha sawl basgedaid a gymerasoch i fyny?
9Do ye not yet understand nor remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many hand-baskets ye took [up]?
10 Nac ychwaith y saith torth i'r pedair mil a pha sawl llond cawell a gymerasoch?
10nor the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took [up]?
11 Sut na welwch nad ynglu375?n bara y dywedais wrthych? Gochelwch, meddaf, rhag surdoes y Phariseaid a'r Sadwceaid."
11How do ye not understand that [it was] not concerning bread I said to you, Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees?
12 Yna y deallasant iddo lefaru nid am ochel rhag surdoes y torthau, ond rhag yr hyn a ddysgai'r Phariseaid a'r Sadwceaid.
12Then they comprehended that he did not speak of being beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
13 Daeth Iesu i barthau Cesarea Philipi, a holodd ei ddisgyblion: "Pwy y mae pobl yn dweud yw Mab y Dyn?"
13But when Jesus was come into the parts of Caesarea-Philippi, he demanded of his disciples, saying, Who do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 Dywedasant hwythau, "Mae rhai'n dweud Ioan Fedyddiwr, ac eraill Elias, ac eraill drachefn, Jeremeia neu un o'r proffwydi."
14And they said, Some, John the baptist; and others, Elias; and others again, Jeremias or one of the prophets.
15 "A chwithau," meddai wrthynt, "pwy meddwch chwi ydwyf fi?"
15He says to them, But *ye*, who do ye say that I am?
16 Atebodd Simon Pedr, "Ti yw'r Meseia, Mab y Duw byw."
16And Simon Peter answering said, *Thou* art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 Dywedodd Iesu wrtho, "Gwyn dy fyd, Simon fab Jona, oherwydd nid cig a gwaed a ddatguddiodd hyn iti ond fy Nhad, sydd yn y nefoedd.
17And Jesus answering said to him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona, for flesh and blood has not revealed [it] to thee, but my Father who is in the heavens.
18 Ac 'rwyf fi'n dweud wrthyt mai ti yw Pedr, ac ar y graig hon yr adeiladaf fy eglwys, ac ni chaiff holl bwerau Hades y trechaf arni.
18And *I* also, I say unto thee that *thou* art Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and hades' gates shall not prevail against it.
19 Rhoddaf iti allweddau teyrnas nefoedd, a beth bynnag a waherddi ar y ddaear a waherddir yn y nefoedd, a beth bynnag a ganiatei ar y ddaear a ganiateir yn y nefoedd."
19And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of the heavens; and whatsoever thou mayest bind upon the earth shall be bound in the heavens; and whatsoever thou mayest loose on the earth shall be loosed in the heavens.
20 Yna gorchmynnodd i'w ddisgyblion beidio dweud wrth neb mai ef oedd y Meseia.
20Then he enjoined on his disciples that they should say to no man that he was the Christ.
21 O'r amser hwnnw y dechreuodd Iesu ddangos i'w ddisgyblion fod yn rhaid iddo fynd i Jerwsalem, a dioddef llawer gan yr henuriaid a'r prif offeiriaid a'r ysgrifenyddion, a'i ladd, a'r trydydd dydd ei gyfodi.
21From that time Jesus began to shew to his disciples that he must go away to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised.
22 A chymerodd Pedr ef a dechrau ei geryddu gan ddweud, "Na ato Duw, Arglwydd. Ni chaiff hyn ddigwydd i ti."
22And Peter taking him to [him] began to rebuke him, saying, [God] be favourable to thee, Lord; this shall in no wise be unto thee.
23 Troes yntau, a dywedodd wrth Pedr, "Dos ymaith o'm golwg, Satan; maen tramgwydd ydwyt imi, oherwydd nid ar bethau Duw y mae dy fryd ond ar bethau dynol."
23But turning round, he said to Peter, Get away behind me, Satan; thou art an offence to me, for thy mind is not on the things that are of God, but on the things that are of men.
24 Yna dywedodd Iesu wrth ei ddisgyblion, "Os myn neb ddod ar fy l i, rhaid iddo ymwadu ag ef ei hun a chodi ei groes a'm canlyn i.
24Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any one desires to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
25 Oherwydd pwy bynnag a fyn gadw ei fywyd, fe'i cyll, ond pwy bynnag a gyll ei fywyd er fy mwyn i, fe'i caiff.
25For whosoever shall desire to save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26 Pa elw a gaiff rhywun os ennill yr holl fyd a fforffedu ei fywyd? Neu beth a rydd rhywun yn gyfnewid am ei fywyd?
26For what does a man profit, if he should gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
27 Oherwydd y mae Mab y Dyn ar ddyfod yng ngogoniant ei Dad gyda'i angylion, ac yna fe dl i bob un yn l ei ymddygiad.
27For the Son of man is about to come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to each according to his doings.
28 Yn wir, 'rwy'n dweud wrthych, y mae rhai o'r sawl sy'n sefyll yma na phrofant flas marwolaeth nes iddynt weld Mab y Dyn yn dyfod yn ei deyrnas."
28Verily I say unto you, There are some of those standing here that shall not taste of death at all until they shall have seen the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
